‘The Kerala Story’: Makers advocate intentions; say ‘number does not matter, issue’s gravity does’

- Amid the ongoing controversy over the upcoming contentious film ‘The Kerala Story’, the makers of the film on April 29 in Mumbai advocated the intentions of the movie and justified their reasoning behind making the movie on a sensitive matter. Stressing on the gravity of the film’s issue, the maker said that the number of ‘32,000’ girls, which is currently in the eye of the storm, does not matter. “You will not ask this question after watching the film. The number is not important. We said that 32,000 girls left their homes, we didn’t say that they joined ISIS. We even filed an RTI to know about the whereabouts of these girls. But Kerala Police have still not given us a number of the vanished girls. It’s better if you watch the film and then make comments on the number of girls who vanished,” Indian film director Sudipto Sen said. The Kerala Story is currently garnering a lot of backlash from the Indian National Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) party over its context. The movie is padded around the 2016 Kerala case where several girls went reportedly missing and were reportedly converted to join ISIS.

In fact according to the official data, some states have more numbers than Kerala. That's where the problem is. Dude, 32000 is a bogus number. Even the makers agree to this. This news clip is a proof. Even the union minister said replied to a question in Parliament as the numbers are around 100. States like U.P have more no.of recruits than Kerala. So by your logic, what is yogi govt doing? Also Isis recruit is a matter of national security. If whatever number of people got recruited, its a failure of our agencies like RAW and NIA. Son basically the movie is defaming our central govt. Try to understand that.

Story based on true incident
A congress CM (can't remember his name but you can google about this report) himself submit a report in 2011 - His report stated from 2006 to 2011 .. 2500 girls got trapped in love jihad and left their homes "every year". So till "2011", the number was "11000", as per Congress CM. Thus, 32000 is a very conservative estimate.

Police won't have the numbers regarding the matters of national security and terrorism. Ask central govt or agencies like NIA or RAW.
