Do you guys prefer these sorts of condensed videos or would you rather have a full playthrough of these challenge runs? this is a new sort of content for me so let me know what you guys want! Also shameless plug but ive now set up a patreon page which has lots of benefits for anybody who wants to help support me due to the uncertanty of youtubes new ToS on Jan 1st - www.patreon.com/Primalliquid
i did try that kevin but even sped up to the max i could some of them were just to long to fully intergrate in with the commentary, but now ive learnt from this video and already have a few idea's on how to solve this for the next challenge so i can have full boss fights in.
@@ZRodTW I feel you with that but if you're looking for a good turn base final fantasyish game bravely default 2 came out on PC last week and I've been loving every second of it
I always would get to be able to play blitzball competitively up till I'd stop and forget where I was. Would always go back start over get to play blitzball then lost the game ☹️ been a few years now but I'd still go back to it and 12
Final Fantasy X was the first Final Fantasy I ever played. When I was a kid I was super impatient and skipped through the tutorial as quickly as I could, and I missed that the sphere grid even existed. Flash forward to me having somehow powered through everything in the game up to the first fight on the airship where I'm having significant issues killing the boss. I asked a friend at school for advice. He asked me where everyone was on the sphere grid thinking maybe I missed some abilities or stat upgrades that I should have gotten. I will never forget the look on his face when I responded "Sphere grid? What's that?"
I DID THE SAME THINGGGGGGGGG!!!!!! I have no idea how i did it either lol. I guess because the bosses are kinda pushovers until then. My dad let me use the game every other week or so and when hed come back and see that i was farther he would tell my mom that he was impressed. Then he gave me a save with all items and 100% lol. It was so funny you did that too. Same battle i had issues with.
I had a girlfriend who played through 1/3 of Super Mario World without knowing Mario could run, part of why she was stuck in Vanilla cave. And it's not because she's bad at games, she kicked my ass at Tetris 100% of the time, it was never even close. She just kinda never realized. Same with flying which she just said 'nope' to after I showed her. Some people do legit miss that though.
Honestly, I DIDN'T skip the tutorial, and the sphere grid was still confusing and annoying to figure out without a guide. I got stuck at Seymour Flux and quit the game there.
@@Primalliquid92 i always though that stealing in this game was really hard when compared to something like ff5 or ff9 because in those games you could get the thief gloves early on wich made steanling much easier while in this game i have to wait till remiem temple so i cam get the items to customize master thief even then stealing doesn't get easier it just guarantees the item you steal is the rare one
rare steals are actually 1/4 chance so its by far the best rates of any FF game, what makes it annoying is the chance to steal gets lowered DRAMATICLY for every successful steal, so after a handful of steals you pretty much have to get a new fight to continue stealing.
@@Primalliquid92 yeah that's what i mean by being the hardest, customizing uses anywere between 30-70 of the same items for the better upgrades and when you can only steal around 3 of the item per fight it's really tedius.
This truly says something about game design The fact that you can be as versatile as you want to be without technically being limited. One of the reasons FFX remains one of my favorite. Great video, massive patience.
agreed compeltely here, i love it when you can play in pretty much anyway and with enough knowledge and paitence still complete the game. Something later FFs are seriously lacking.
I was like 'until Rikku joins? The river crossing is pretty darn far into the game...' and then I realized you meant the temporary joining. Quality video.
My current playthrough is 200 hours in. I’m in the calm lands still grinding. Not a single blitz ball game (except those 2 in Luca) but I have all fiends from the calm lands. Cavern of the stolen fayth and Mt Gagazet for the monster arena. Only just managed to beat the second fiend that the monster arena produces. In 200 hours of playing. I’ve only hit game over 4 times. And 2 of them were the monster arena. 2 were being stupid and running the wrong way and hitting Dark Yojimba. My last playthrough (my only time completing the game) I think I played for about 130.
Scrambled Eggs yes, I’m aware. I was stating that I had only died 4 times in the 200 hours I had played. Now I’m at 315 hours. And I’ve died at least triple that just from attempting the dark aeons 😂 Sorry for the confusion.
Rhubartu the Saiyan my point was that I had died 4 times. But the game doesn’t like saying that you had died except for the status ailment. I tried to continue that. Sorry for the bother. Yeez 😂
Yunalesca was the hardest for me. I remember coming back to this game about 15 years later and remembering this moment. I spent days leveling, getting the best stone proof/confuse proof/sleep proof armor & weapons, having everyone (and aeons) on overdrive, literally writing down a game plan for the different stages...and still getting my ass handed to me on a silver platter.
Yep, sesroH oN! Been there, done that too. Yunalesca's fight made me dread FFX so much for so long until I learned to just accept the Zombie Status for at least one character just before she does her Insta-Death spell on your party. Those who are Zombies are spared. This was my only saving grace and still is to this very day!
Adam Gray EXACTLY! And I didn’t use a strategy guide. I think the only thing keeping me from losing my shit was the turn base. If it was RT, I’d have heart attacks left and right.
Yep, @@SesrohOn. The strategy guides used alot other items and/or armor enchantments. The Zombie Status "abuse" makes the Yunalesca battle so much easier.
?? What was so hard about her if I may ask? I don't have any particular memories of the fight from my first playthrough as a child and on my last playthrough I beat her in one go no real problem lmao
Nice job! I've done a No Sphere Grid, Rikku Only, No Overdrives challenge up until Jecht so feel I can offer some criticism or advice for those who want to try this out. Though I allowed Attack (or more importantly, Evade & Counter), an overwhelming amount of my damage was done through Items. Steal, Use, and Customization are incredibly broken in this game, which is why Rikku can beat the game by herself without ever touching the SG. With that said, I feel you over-grinded in the beginning (minus getting Steal/Use). Since you didn't limit yourself to escaping battles, you really only need grenades and tier 1 elemental items until Mushroom Rock/Djose when you can reliably steal better items (silence/smoke/petrify grenades). None of the stealing in Besaid/Kilika is necessary. 99 rare steal poison fangs, smoke bombs, dragon scales, sleeping powders, AND petrify grenades that early is overkill and a waste of 24+ hours. You can get most of those items later on before they're absolutely needed for some battles. You'd probably only need about 20 poison fangs at most to get through Seymour 1 & 2 and Evrae, which are the only fights they're really necessary in other NSG challenges. Even then, allowing the SG allows for beefier characters so you COULD just spam tier 2 elemental (3 if you have some gems), smoke bombs, and sleeping/dream powders on them then heal the damage. You didn't ban Defend, so the first 3 Seymour fights only need 1 poison fang and it's gg. In fact, anything not immune to poison dies in 1 easily obtained item post-Calm Lands. Status items inflict the status 100% (more accurately, 255%) of the time unless the target is immune. That's why smoke/petrify/silence grenades and sleeping/dream powders are soooo good. You also can kill Yu Yevon by only Defending until he gets below the amount needed from 1 supreme/shining gem. He only Curagas if you target him and Gravija does damage to himself as well. You'll never die since it's an HP% reducing attack. Or you could've used a Candle of Life and let Doom kill him in 3 turns. I feel you over-emphasize the importance of Auto Protect/Shell armor. Since most bosses don't dispel you, throwing a light/lunar curtain by itself is much less time consuming. SOS Haste is really all you need for random battles which you can drop hunt or customize with 20 chocobo feathers. Ideally, you'd want different armors for different fights. Confuseward armor is easily customizable and guarantees confusion from Yunalesca for example. If you really wanna grind for end-game armor, you could buy the 4 empty slot armors from Watz and put auto protect/shell/haste on them with something else, but that's pretty silly imo since the SG is allowed and you get Defense and HP.
travman314 Is there any easy way you can take out the boss fight against Rikku in the Moonflow for an NGS playthrough…? Just Tidus and Wakka against 4000 hp is a lot…
if you want to kill cactuars, i think poison fangs prior to thunder plains is necessary. poison fangs give you overkill for cactuars instantly thus giving you a big boost
i like using tetra eater armor for general heal. you can use attack items to heal or let enemies heal you. and especially seymour.. he will hit you then heal you. how nice of him
As one of those grognards who got Cloud up to 255 all stats by morphing enemies on the sunken plane before the W-Item bug was discovered, I respect the grind.
2023 and i dont know what glitch u talking about… gone through all ff7 maximizing all stats and having top materias in 2004 before internet was so experienced😂
@@vvvkkk9094 Once you get the W-Item materia it allows you to use 2 items in 1 turn. But if you use 1 item, select the 2nd item then cancel, it gives you back your original item back into your inventory. Keep clicking and closing the 2nd item to duplicate the 1st. Basically click megaelixer, use on all party. Click a 2nd item (can be another megaelixer) cancel, click, cancel click etc etc and you see your stack of megaelixers are going up.
@@vvvkkk9094 w-item glitch: (Command) W-Item->select item 1->select target->select item 2->enter “target select” screen->back to Item menu Doing this gains you an additional “item 2”. Repeating the “select item, back out instead of selecting target” can get you as many battle-useable items as you want.
FFX was so popular for so long partly because FF12 was the first FF game that took "a while" to come out, so in the early 2000's you had people with a lot of time, who did so many crazy challenges with the craziest abbreviations, just check GameFAQs, but a lot of them were done before posting videos online was viable and before technology was better. I really enjoy watching challenge runs because I remember it as something you could never do in the old days, I could only hear stories from people's posts back then. WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
"8 hours later, and I'm feeling pretty confident for upcoming bosses." 3 bosses later "I tried a shadow gem on Seymour which ended up doing nothing. Kind of regret farming these now." Big oof
So here's something worth knowing about the Calm Lands: Once you unlock Chocobos you can do the race at Remiem Temple, winning once gets you the Cloudy Mirror however doing the race again opening 3 Chests and touching no poles will give you 30x Wings To Discovery. Meaning with Rikku's Overdrive can give you a minimum 15 uses of Trio Of 9999 meaning Fire Gems will do multiple hits at the damage cap. Al Bhed Potions will heal 9999HP as well.
I know this video came out a long time ago... But, a little bit of history of my life. I'm 30 born 1990 my first console was atari 2600 in 1998. Yes 98. My second was n64 never knowing of snes. I got my n64 in 2001 and couldn't believe gaming has came this far. Then in 2004 I finally got a ps2 (which to this day I still have all 3 systems) and ffx. My older brother played all the other ones before ffx but, I was first to play it. To this day from the title screen to the options screen that was the moment I knew I knew that final fantasy was THE greatest game series ever. I love these videos thanks primalliquid! 😀
This was amazing!! But I really think you should have allowed Rikkus Overdrive. Since it is her using alchemy to combine items into stronger ones! It's still item usage.
I mean i removed my like because of it, once at either end of the video i'll accept, i'm aware of the fact that it helps creators and that people don't do it otherwise... however that doesn't mean you need to beat us over the head with it.
Really appreciate the video! It's well constructed and entertaining, and dude you put in so much effort it's impressive. Only issue is the repeated begging to follow you on Twitter and twitch. Like once or twice is okay but this was excessive and irritating. It got to the point where I was skipping 10 or 20 seconds at a time whenever you started up on it. Maybe less in future videos? I'm going to check out the rest of your content anyway, but that's my two cents.
haha you're welcome, they're pretty fun to make tbh anyway so its not really a big deal to me plus FFX is my all time fave so no matter what i do on here im very unlikely to get board.
I genuinely enjoyed this vid. It was really interesting to see this condensed version of a really unique run. I really enjoyed the commentary, and how you kept tabs on how long grinding items took. Which gave me an idea of the hard work put in, while not having to sit through it myself. Over all I'm happy I stuck through to the end. That said, I lost track of how many times you asked for comments, subs, follows, and every other plug in. It was really forced and it really pulled away from the playthrough. I found myself wanting to click away multiple times and if it weren't for the fact that the run challenge was so interesting, I would have. I sub if the content is good, and yours was really interesting. But I can't bring myself to listen to that every vid.
@@bongosmcdongos4190 Each to their own. I tried to input constructive criticism, and it was my personal experience with this particular vid. I understand that likes, subs, and comments really help RUclipsrs. But there is a certain sweet spot before it starts feeling like begging. And most people will be turned off by that. Genuinely liked his work. Just didn't like the heavy handedness of his plug ins. And if it was that in every vid I couldn't watch.
@@bongosmcdongos4190 I mean, reading that comment took even less time and YOU had to take the time to complain about it. I wouldn't call people "whiners" Also yes it was incredibly obnoxious and made me promise myself I would never sub to this guy.
They optimised it a loooong time ago. Wings to Discovery from Chocobo Races gives you Trio of 9999 and then you just use Fire Gems. You don't even have to fight the Sinspawn during the Sin segment you can target the core behind it with items.
First off, let me start by saying: amazing video. Absolutely insane the amount of passion that went into this, and I love that! B U T The constant asking for likes and follows and subscriptions can get very tedious, very quickly. I loved the run and the concept, but plugging slightly less would definitely go a long way in my eyes!
Agreed. I couldn't even finish the video because the constant plugs were just getting on my nerves. Funny enough had he only asked once I'd have done it. I ended up disliking due to how annoying the video got.
@@eileeng9317 Let me start with a few things that you mentioned that are just factually, incorrect. "No more than 30 seconds in total out of an entire 37 minute video" is BLATANTLY false. He spends the literal last minute plugging, which is fine as expected in a video like this, as well as the first few minutes tossing it in very frequently, sometimes at the expense of the commentary. He also inter-splices it very frequently, disrupting the flow of the first half of the video OFTEN, often enough that it's noticeable by more than just myself if the likes on my comment are indicative of anything. Secondly, yes, "plugging his twitter a few times" actually does cause for some people to be dissuaded from watching the _37 minute long video._ The first half as I mentioned is littered with plugs that interrupt the flow in ways that make the view experience worse, and sometimes choke the video to a grinding halt. If that half was indicating anything about the video, it would be that the whole thing will continue that way to the point that it's difficult to care. The video is already long, so even if you _didn't_ think that the video was going to be that the whole way through, it might be enough to make it not worth your time. *It's honest criticism.* Also, as a final point, the amount of time HE put in does not mean we owe him likes or anything of the sort. I even complimented him, and left a like, but that does not detract from my statement. Why would you watch something that is semi-repetitive in how he achieves the goal (as in, self proclaimed overgrinding nearly half of your estimation of his play time) if the video is constantly pausing itself? Flow is an incredibly important part of any video, and claiming that the flow wasn't broken, and even insulting others in protest to it, is downright fucked. P.S. If you're going to call someone a petty cunt, maybe consider it from a different viewpoint beforehand. There's no entitlement here, it was genuinely positive feedback with constructive criticism that was left after liking the video, you _petty cunt._
@@joshkary5040 You know what? You're right. Partially, at least. Your reasoning here at least makes more sense than the vague statements you gave in your original comment. The grand total of him plugging his Twitter/Twitch/Patreon totals to 52 seconds out of the full 37 mins, so good on you for being right on that, but you're also factually incorrect by stating the last minute of his video is purely full of plugs. Most of that last minute is spent talking about his experience with the challenge and encouraging his community engagement on the video, as well as asking what his viewers would like to see in the future. Out of that last minute, only about 12 seconds are used to plug his Patreon - the only other sm plug. You could be stingy and say that he asks people to subscribe etc as well, but those are things that literally every single youtuber does to encourage engagement from the fans, and if they get a pass I don't see why it should be a problem for him to do so. 02:03 - 02:11 - 9 sec 04:27 - 04:34 - 7 sec 08:39 - 08:49 - 10 sec 12:56 - 12:59 - 3 sec 22:00 - 22:07 - 7 sec 31:45 - 31:50 - 5 sec 36:30 - 36:41 - 11 sec Total - 52 seconds of actively plugging social media. You are correct - he does plug more frequently in the beginning. Doesn't change the fact that people are shitting themselves over 7 plugs, 3 of which were so quick and so integrated with his line of talking that I initially missed them and had to go back to check again, and one of which is at the very end of his video, interspersed between channel engagement, which most people seem to skip or ignore anyway. Also, that second point is extremely hinged on personal opinion. You might have found them to interrupt the flow and bring the vid to a halt, but I and plenty of other people, did not. I suppose I can see why it, along with the length, might dissuade *new* viewers from watching, so I understand that point of yours, but whether they do or don't like/notice it will still come down to each individual viewers personal preferences. Either way, I concede on this one that I can understand where you're coming from, but I'd argue that rather than not plugging he smight be able to integrate his plugs a bit more. Like I said previously, some of those plugs went by so quickly and seamlessly that I didn't even notice them at first and had to go back to find them. Maybe doing a few more like these would be a good idea. The point I was making was that if he spends 100+ hours making a video that will likely be demonized/screwed over by the algorithm/etc and he wants to plug his other social media, he should be allowed some self-indulgence. I certainly don't think it warrants a dislike(and no, this isn't talking about you, this is talking about the person that replied to you) at the very least, especially considering the amount of effort he put in vs less than a minute of interspersed plugs. That said, while I still don't agree with you, I at least understand where you're coming from with this to an extent. Ps: you do realize that you aren't the person I was talking to in that edit...right? The person that replied to you is the one that edit was directed at (I even typed his name - not including the numbers but still) and his comment isn't "genuinely positive feedback" as yours apparently is.
@@eileeng9317 I can totally respect the amount of effort and time he put into this, which is why when I first started watching the video I planned to like it. However I am a person who doesn't like plugs or begging in videos. If its done once I can understand that, but the amount seen in the first 8 minutes alone just made the video unwatchable to me. I clicked this video to watch him try to complete the challenge. Instead I got a video of someone begging for likes and twitter follows. It at least feels that way. You say its only 52 seconds, which in the grand scheme of things isn't too long. Yet when I watched the video it felt like it was being thrown in my face constantly. The number one thing I care about is content. I wanted to see this guy complete the challenge, to laugh along with him or be wowed by the time and effort he went through. Not to be told to follow his Twitter every few minutes. Imagine watching a movie and every couple of minutes the characters stop what they are doing to joke about buying the movies merch, or telling you to follow the directors Twitter. It totally ruins the flow. The reason for the Dislike is because I hate content made with the purpose of plugging someones other social medias, or begging for likes over actual content. Instead of putting all your effort or time into making a high quality video its filled with branding or begging. I just don't like watching stuff like that. I respect content creators who actually don't ask for that stuff and care about making quality content. Especially if they love what they do. I'm not saying you can't ask, I'm just saying the amount in this video was excessive. Considering this wasn't the original creators intention, at least based on what I've read, ill remove the dislike. But the video is still unwatchable to me. In truth I really liked the video when he wasn't plugging his stuff. It was really interesting and the creator has some charisma. I was even considering subscribing and checking out his other content before the constant plugging started. Maybe his other videos aren't this bad? I don't know, but this one kind of soured the experience for me.
@@Flawlessvictoryshow All my other videos have 1 plug at the very start and 1 at the very end. I had tried to work them in so that they wouldnt take away from the experience. (think more subliminal) they were to heavy at the start though and i apolagise for that. Let me explain why its done though and in such a rushed mannor by not only me but alot of creators lately. It stems from the recent COPPA changes, RUclips going full Anti-creator and the possibility alot of us are just going to have our channels straight up shut down come Janurary 1st. this means we may have VERY little time to get our audiences over to other platforms so we can continue to make a living. Large creators who get 10s of millions of views a month dont need to worry so much about this, the smaller channels however do. Imagine working a normal job only to be told "you might lose your job with no warning randomly come next month" You're going to do everything possible to try and atleast maintain some income arnt you? Hope this explains everything for you.
Morality: keeps your head clear, keeps you from self-destruction via overindulgence, and keeps you principled and grounded(mentally immovable). It's extremely useful even outside of the: "imaginary sky daddy". Sin is fun, but it's also the number 1 killer. Basically, morality and principles keep your lizard brain from devouring itself, and help you: understand, work with, and gain trust from, other people. It's a useful tool for self maintenance that makes us have to use less willpower resisting shit that'll kill us in the end.
I've learned a long time ago, @@Primalliquid92, to save my game *before* Bribing any enemy. Bribing is not a 100% guaranteed success rate. I guarantee you there is no heartbreak like throwing 1.3 million Gil at an enemy in the form of a Bribe only to get a big bag of Disappointment for your efforts. The first time I found out Bribe is not a 100% guarantee is the 1.3 million Gil Bribe...
at first i thought it was intentional for sure but later into it i wasnt so sure but that intro was extremely mah-dry-bread. especially the twitter plug.
This is absolutely ridiculous. Well played! What a grind. I thought you'd get destroyed by Seymour Flux. I did a playthrough with the Sin Unleashed difficulty mod on hardest difficulty recently and Flux was the hardest fight in the whole game for me. I'll admit I caved in and used yojimbo because even grinding enough to get things like auto protect/shell seemed like too much grinding to me! Beat the game with hardly any grinding at all. One of the best gaming experiencies I've ever had, and probably the best FF experience I've ever had
I'd argue you could have used Rikkus MIX overdrive as that is pretty much just comprised of items. Like how you allowed Kimahris Overdrive in the magic only run.
absolutely insane, you could've gotten a platinum trophy in the same time but i asmire your determination doing this and extending the replayablity of a childhood favourite of mine. really like the condensed form because as others have said i dont wanna invest the time of watching the grind(if i could i would do stuff like this myself)
This was a dang impressive video. Thank you for investing so much time into making this. Even bigger props for not getting bored and giving up halfway through bc that's usually how my attempts at these go.
This was amazing. After I finish crushing FFx I plan to OP my way through FF X-2, since it came with it.... I'd love to see a "how overpowered can you get before" series video for FFX-2!! Pretty please
@@eileeng9317 tell that to the dozens of people who pour even more time into youtube or twitch and barely get any attention. Grinding rpgs on youtube/twitch is nothing new. Forcing your social media down our throats is only gonna make me dislike you more. Regardless of how much time you spend on a game.
and he also plugged his twitter/twitch 2 more times and,"please I'm desperate for the youtube algorithm, like and comment" 2 more times as well after that 13 min mark. I want to dislike the video for that alone, but that still helps the video get noticed. Like god, I hate these kinds of videos.
Top notch! Bro that was the best playthrough ever. My opinion I know but holy moly that was slick! The younger me would have literally never believed this was possible haha thank you!
@@Primalliquid92 The answer is somewhat easier. As of now: Shinryu, Deus and Penance are considered impossible without grinding. Which in turn means: Only with items is absolutely impossible killing them.
@@RockBottom7626 I think you misunderstood something. Those bosses are considered impossible on a NSG run, where everyone's stuck on base stats. This item-only run allows the Sphere Grid, so stats can be increased.
How about a chalinge where you don't plug twitter every 5 mins lol I counted in the first 30mins you plugged it 6 times making 1 every 5 mins but I was shocked when you did not for the last 7 mins of the video
I don't hate that he did it and wether it was alot of hours or just 10 seconds of game play they the has the right to plug there twitter as much as they want I still liked and enjoyed the video comments help the RUclipsrs so I thort I would make a joke a factually corect and funny (to me and that's all that matters) joke

Did this challenge over 5 years ago, but with different restrictions. I flee from all pointless battles while you face all of them (wasting items). I allow trigger commands. It's not like I'm dealing damage. I can use Rikku's Overdrive because it's item dependent (exclude trio or quartet). You don't need to spam that many poison fangs. Once it sticks, that's good enough. Wait until it fades out (if it does fade out), poison again. You have plenty of HP to wait it out; Spam Grenade in meantime. Also, Lunar/Light/Star Curtains + HP... you don't need to rush it. Are you not allow to customize gear early? You could've gotten First Strike weapon/SOS as soon as Thunder Plains. Dark Matter via Blitzball, are you not allowed? Not saying you need it, but it is there to cruise through Spectral/Yunalesca. Good job with Inside Sin though. I didn't think about Supreme Gems, only Shining. Lastly, regarding Yu Yevon, Candle of Life for Doom. That's all you need. Just wait it out. Hey, it works.
@@LinkBahamut right, but just asking why he didn't make an exception for her overdrive, everyone else's overdrives are all attacks or magic so makes sense not to use, but her's is mixing two items and throwing them.
@@silverargentum3758 I think it's to avoid anything that easily trivializes encounters. It would be a rush to get Quartet/Trio 9999 and then spam elemental gems for multi-hit 9999's via something like Bomb Core/Lightning Marble steal and resetting BB leagues for Dark Matter.
@@silverargentum3758 because mix would just make the challenge not a challenge lol. once he got to the calm lands, he could just the the trio of 9999 items and just rush the rest of game to the end with just that.
I don’t mind creators self advertising at the beginning or the end of the video. But I‘m not even 10min in and he already mentioned it 3 separate times, I genuinely just removed my view from the video because I don’t want to support someone essentially begging to follow them lmao
Can't belive you've done this with just items I did it without levelling by mistake (I thought I was level 99 lol) Well done I've just subscribed for that effort
This is rather nostalgic for me as I steal all the time while playing this game, I remember I used to always be stumped what to d o with Khimari until I found out Biran and Yenke had lvl 3 sphere keys you could steal so since then Khimari always became a stealer and early on it can trivialise encounters
Imagine not being able to defeat sins for thousands of years and all you had to do was steal everything and use it against sin That’s a big brain strategy
You are a fucking trooper. I was expecting to hear “this is how you grind it and now I’m going to mod 99 of the items in” I would of been fine with that. Good job man! That is some dedication
I really do enjoy your content. I love final fantasy, and it's awesome to see what you can do with dedication and a lot of time on your hands. But man, after the 5th time hearing you tell me to like, subscribe, follow, I just can't deal with it. It's so frustrating to have that repeated so frequently that I nearly disliked out of spite. Your content is outstanding. The endless begging for subscribes is not.

The author could say the character drawn is 8, or 8000, and it wouldn't make jack shit of a difference. The author could change a "legal loli" that you're attracted to's age at any time to match its physical body, and you wouldn't stop being attracted to it if you were before. So lolicons are full out creeps, no question. Rikku is actually the opposite. "Jailbait" is I think the term people used. Shes a fictional character made to look like an adult. Shes drawn (modeled or whatever, I'm just saying drawn to keep things simple cause it's no different) as an adult. So someone being attracted to her is them being attracted to the drawing of an adult. Shes not a real person, the age is just arbitrarily assigned. The author could say shes 16 or 60 and it wouldn't change anything. The difference with real life underage teens that can pass as adults is that they are actually children with lives that can be affected by your attraction or any actions made to them. They are mentally immature and cant consent, regardless of what they look like. So your attraction to them matters to them, it's a problem. But a character is not a person with a brain that can be effected in any way by your actions or attraction to them. So what fictional characters you're attracted to only says anything about who you are, it only effects you. So if you're attracted to the drawing of a child, it says you're a fucking creep. And if you're attracted the drawing of an adult, it says you're mostly normal. But what do I know, I can only look at this more objectively than most people bc I'm asexual, so my opinion isnt influenced by any personal attractions in the matter 🤷🏼♀️😂
We get it, you got a twitter and twitch. Can you please stop talking about those it makes me want to not follow you in any of those jesus. But good vid. Props you actually did this.
final yu yevon has mp that can run out. he can steal mp from party members but if they have none then he kinda just sits there. Figured this out when I was 12 and I couldn't do more than 9999 damage with three turns on characters. nevertheless, I thought he was impossible until 30 min in...
Dude, really good vid but my god please stop plugging your channel and such every few minutes. Totally took me out of the experience of being engrossed in the run. I know you gotta get that number up and the grind is tough but once at the start and end is enough as other popular channels have proved this. Do keep doing what you're doing, but trust me when I say plugging this much is gonna drive people away. It sadly has with me.
If it makes you feel better the reason the sanctuary keeper didn't cast curaga on itself is cuz the AI on that boss is actually good. so it was not a waste of time...the thing just had a bigger brain than you thought it did! cheers mate! thanks for the content!
Two things: I really enjoy your videos ever since I discovered your channel, but the amount of plugs for your various media outlets are TOO MUCH. I completely understand wanting more viewers , followers, subscribers, etc. but you're probably hurting your cause with the frequency. Put it at the beginning and end of a video, maybe in a midway part if the video is > 30 minutes. The second thing: You mentioned how the trigger command would be in violation of "only use steal, items and use". So wouldn't escape, change equipment and characters also violate the rules? Also, would a beefy attacker (Auron or Wakka for example) with berserk inflicted on them count as a violation? You aren't the one using the command. They auto-attack without you doing anything.
Berserk would be a violation yes, thankfully i only got berserked twice in the entire playthrough (spectral keeper) and neither character attacked during that before i got rid of berserk.
Do you guys prefer these sorts of condensed videos or would you rather have a full playthrough of these challenge runs? this is a new sort of content for me so let me know what you guys want! Watching 50+ hours of grinding sounds horrible 🙀
@mugenyomi pretty much why i decided to go with this format first to test the waters.
For challenges like this I would like to see the boss battles and then skip through the grinding.
i did try that kevin but even sped up to the max i could some of them were just to long to fully intergrate in with the commentary, but now ive learnt from this video and already have a few idea's on how to solve this for the next challenge so i can have full boss fights in.

What's that?"
omg 😂 you're a real good player for having managed to go so far without any xp
I tried a run like that, and decided to quit on Bikanel Island. There was just too much HP on enemies!
"I haven't even left besaid yet and i am 34 hours in" well after that i have to leave a like lol
rare steals man :( not to mention only having Tidus able to steal for ages there aswell so it took some time, everything came in REALLY handy though
@@Primalliquid92 yeah that's what i mean by being the hardest, customizing uses anywere between 30-70 of the same items for the better upgrades and when you can only steal around 3 of the item per fight it's really tedius.
yep thats what made the thunderplains the longest grind by far
This truly says something about game design
The fact that you can be as versatile as you want to be without technically being limited.
100 hours after grinding to beat the game. Me sitting here playing normally and taking 150...
@@aHumanBeing97 You can't game over in the monster arena...
Scrambled Eggs yes, I’m aware. I was stating that I had only died 4 times in the 200 hours I had played. Now I’m at 315 hours. And I’ve died at least triple that just from attempting the dark aeons 😂
Sorry for the confusion.
@@aHumanBeing97 no. You clearly said "2 of them were in the monster arena" there's no confusion. You wrote what you wrote.

I never had a problem with yunalesca lmao

Is there any easy way you can take out the boss fight against Rikku in the Moonflow for an NGS playthrough…?
Just Tidus and Wakka against 4000 hp is a lot…
if you want to kill cactuars, i think poison fangs prior to thunder plains is necessary. poison fangs give you overkill for cactuars instantly thus giving you a big boost
i like using tetra eater armor for general heal. you can use attack items to heal or let enemies heal you. and especially seymour.. he will hit you then heal you. how nice of him

So here's something worth knowing about the Calm Lands:
Once you unlock Chocobos you can do the race at Remiem Temple, winning once gets you the Cloudy Mirror however doing the race again opening 3 Chests and touching no poles will give you 30x Wings To Discovery. Meaning with Rikku's Overdrive can give you a minimum 15 uses of Trio Of 9999 meaning Fire Gems will do multiple hits at the damage cap. Al Bhed Potions will heal 9999HP as well.

First off, let me start by saying: amazing video. Absolutely insane the amount of passion that went into this, and I love that!
B U T
The constant asking for likes and follows and subscriptions can get very tedious, very quickly.
*It's honest criticism.*
Also, as a final point, the amount of time HE put in does not mean we owe him likes or anything of the sort.
02:03 - 02:11 - 9 sec
04:27 - 04:34 - 7 sec
08:39 - 08:49 - 10 sec
12:56 - 12:59 - 3 sec
22:00 - 22:07 - 7 sec
31:45 - 31:50 - 5 sec
36:30 - 36:41 - 11 sec
Total - 52 seconds of actively plugging social media.

Bribe would have been an interesting ability to allow for this challenge.
would have made it WAY to easy due to some amazing bribes early on (would have saved me a TON of time though lol)
Is it possible to bribe your way to finish? =O

After all these years, I still can't get over the "remastered' porcelain doll faces.
at first i thought it was intentional for sure but later into it i wasnt so sure but that intro was extremely mah-dry-bread. especially the twitter plug.
comments are good for the RUclips algorithm after all.
I couldn’t imagine spending literal days of my life just grinding the same thing over and over, human tenacity sure is miraculous huh
I just keep coming back to this video in just amazement at your dedication bro.
The thought of this guy grinding the piranhas - it just cracks me up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
The sheer amount of time you put into this is impressive, mate. Mad respect.
absolutely insane, you could've gotten a platinum trophy in the same time but i asmire your determination doing this and extending the replayablity of a childhood favourite of mine. really like the condensed form because as others have said i dont wanna invest the time of watching the grind(if i could i would do stuff like this myself)
Dude, you’re INSANE. Absolutely beautiful work!!!!! You’re so passionate about this game!! ❤️
thank you! and yea i love it

tell that to the dozens of people who pour even more time into youtube or twitch and barely get any attention.

Now defeat the Dark Aeons and Penance, THEN you’re done 👍.
Seriously though, very impressive. Keep up the good work.
i could defeat maybe upto shiva with items, after that and penance would be impossible though not enough damage with just items
@@Primalliquid92
The answer is somewhat easier.
As of now: Shinryu, Deus and Penance are considered impossible without grinding.
Which in turn means:
Only with items is absolutely impossible killing them.
@@RockBottom7626 I think you misunderstood something. Those bosses are considered impossible on a NSG run, where everyone's stuck on base stats. This item-only run allows the Sphere Grid, so stats can be increased.

This is such a fun thing to watch! As a major fan of FFX, seeing relatively new content for this game makes me very happy!
How about a chalinge where you don't plug twitter every 5 mins lol I counted in the first 30mins you plugged it 6 times making 1 every 5 mins but I was shocked when you did not for the last 7 mins of the video
The amount of grinding he does he can do whatever he likes shit he can plug his adderall dealer

I usually hate when someone does that, but in this case he has the right, those are alot of hours

There's a plug like every 4 mins in this vid
Didnt like the shilling in MBD's either but amazing performance anyways
I didn't expect this to be so entertaining! Amazing that you could pull this off, well done!
You’re literally a legend for this. I applaud you sir
New to the channel but I love these challenge runs. The dedication to the grind is unbelievable.👏👏
21:38 "i proceed to use poison fangs which inflict poison fang" okay
How anyone can beat Yunalesca with only items is beyond me. I remember that fight being SO hard as a kid.
You can 1 shot her with a phenix down...
funny enough if you use mix... it's super easy.
why not use rikku's overdrive "mix", it's still using items so still fits into the challenge....
Rules explain "No overdrives" So is not possible

Everyone, this youtuber has a twitter account. Did you know?

How many times do u need to plug your twitch and twitter in 1 video
Once again, my compliments. Your dedication to the grind is admirable! And yes, that alone is worth a like.
you would think rikku's overdrive would be the exception to the no overdrives rule considering it is just a juiced up "use"
Can't belive you've done this with just items I did it without levelling by mistake (I thought I was level 99 lol)
Well done I've just subscribed for that effort
There has to be some sort of rule that says people can't beg for follows During their video this often
This is rather nostalgic for me as I steal all the time while playing this game, I remember I used to always be stumped what to d o with Khimari until I found out Biran and Yenke had lvl 3 sphere keys you could steal so since then Khimari always became a stealer and early on it can trivialise encounters
This level of grinding deserves ALL the subs!
I love videos like these, thank you for putting in the time for all of us that like to watch!
I’ll be honest, the constant twitter plugs make me not want to even sub to your channel if all your videos are going to have that shit.
Imagine not being able to defeat sins for thousands of years and all you had to do was steal everything and use it against sin
That’s a big brain strategy
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YES
Beautiful play through. I loved watching, but there’s no way I would ever try this. It would take me a year to have enough free time to do this.
Seriously
“Does a ten hour grind this early deserve a like?” Made me chuckle. And yes it does.

Rikku is 15 by the wa-
This is information that should have been widely circulated a long time ago.
(quickly calculates) if you were younger than 15 when it came out that's fine, right? Right? Guys? Anyone?
Chris Hansen's gonna need a hell of a lot of seats.
Actually shes a fictional character, a character sprite really, with an arbitrarily assigned number as her "age" 😂
@@nymiancomplex7336 be sure to try using that as your defence when somebody catches you watching loli hentai. im sure they'll understand, good luck with that
@@Riftweaver1981 Ew, that's disgusting. Why would your mind go to that. I'm not even talking about lolis. Actually my comment implies that I do not agree with anyone ever liking lolis, "legal" or not. The argument is that its okay to be attracted to the drawing of a child as long as it's "over 18." But that's completely absurd. It's just a fictional character, a drawing with a random number placed on it really. It doesnt actually have an age. No matter what age is arbitrarily assigned to it, it's still you being attracted to a drawing of a child, point blank.

That's crazy man kudos. I like this condensed style.
final yu yevon has mp that can run out. he can steal mp from party members but if they have none then he kinda just sits there. Figured this out when I was 12 and I couldn't do more than 9999 damage with three turns on characters. nevertheless, I thought he was impossible until 30 min in...
I still remember this game fondly. What a fucking masterpiece
Two things:
I really enjoy your videos ever since I discovered your channel, but the amount of plugs for your various media outlets are TOO MUCH.
Love your videos. Will be following twitch! Great work and explanations/editing
haha i wish i was better editor tbh, it would make the videos better imo
8/10 too many plugs
