Hi Jon, The reason why “Manufactured In USA" instead of "Made in USA" is used is because of California regulated that in order to use MADE IN USA, 100% of the product is made here. As you probably guess, Cree LEDs don't make in the US. I heard it drove Tony Maglica a bit mad coz he couldn't source LED locally. He really believe in making thing locally.
All Maglite flashlights are designed and manufactured in the U.S.A. Some foreign parts/components/accessories are used. See individual product package labels for details.
I also prefer made in USA. 300 lumens for $40 is not bad value. Have you priced Surefire lights? They are made in USA, put out more light, built like a tank and priced like a tank.
Does the mag tac have a "lock out" tail cap function? Meaning if you unscrew the tail cap like one turn will it disable the tail switch? Same question about the Bushnell?
I don't think mag Mag lite will be solvent too much longer.Nitecore,Olight,ThruNite,Acebeam are Lords of the light and have been eating Maglite's lunch for a long, long time. They have NOT kept up with new technology and and will soon pay the ultimate price. No one can stand still while the world's New High Tech products pass them by at mach II. Too bad cause I have been using their lights for 25 years.

it is made in the usa just not the little bulb i watched a news story on it.
Where did you purchase it for 38?
The top comes off because you can replace the lens and reflector if they get damaged.
