    maybe we should go back here paul... btw did you know, sometime around 2021 a rare crab shipped over chilled from china was kept dormant...... well ...one got out of the bin and somehow made it into the river mersey, and has utterly decimated the reefs of the irish sea........ making room for more water,, saving us from global catastrophe ...marvellous

    The other side of the lock is actually surrounded by water and we called it Monkey Island. In the old days you could get across over the bridge in the background. There was even a beach on the side facing Knutsford Road. We used to find small pieces of white pipe, believed to be pipes for smoking made of clay from years ago.
    That lock is virtually empty at very low tide, you can certainly see the bottom, full of bricks.

    Alright mr magnet man good to see you at the weir at howley if you park your van in the same place and walk about 200 yards mcdonalds side theres some railings where we go fishing and just at the edge of the drop it is full of trolleys if you want to have a bit of fun getting them out 👍🏼

      Hiya mate, no not even heard of the hotties canal I will look into it and give it a go this year, ive got loads of places already booked in to visit this year aswell as lots of meetups with other youtubers.       @Paul magnet man Hoolihan apparently years ago there was rumour tropical fish were in there as its at side of pilkingtons glass and the hot water from the factory made the canal warm hence the name The Hotties

    Paul caught crabs in Warrington lol that's mad. Seen crayfish and muscles in the canal but never crabs. Any idea on the history of the lock? Seams odd to be there. Keep up the good work #whitewellymagnetfishing

      Yeh I've been told it's an overflow lock which bypasses the weir used years ago for boats, not used anymore and full of really large heavy items lol 👍👌👌👌

      Your right that's the only reason they must be there, while I was throwing the magnet I also seen a few trout breaking the surface for insects which was nice to see, the mersey is really clean now and is full of fish. 👍👌👌👌
