It was definitely the biggest and heaviest thing I've got out on my own in the 4yrs I've been doing this mad hobby. Thanks Frederick for checking out my vids. 🧲🧲🧲
maybe we should go back here paul... btw did you know, sometime around 2021 a rare crab shipped over chilled from china was kept dormant...... well ...one got out of the bin and somehow made it into the river mersey, and has utterly decimated the reefs of the irish sea........ making room for more water,, saving us from global catastrophe ...marvellous
Nightmare day - all the bad and none of the good ! Paul a fantastic video as always with Hoolihan "Senior" on location a great time-In future anyone that provides an area tread with caution my friend!✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
The other side of the lock is actually surrounded by water and we called it Monkey Island. In the old days you could get across over the bridge in the background. There was even a beach on the side facing Knutsford Road. We used to find small pieces of white pipe, believed to be pipes for smoking made of clay from years ago. That lock is virtually empty at very low tide, you can certainly see the bottom, full of bricks.
James Maires Alright mr magnet man good to see you at the weir at howley if you park your van in the same place and walk about 200 yards mcdonalds side theres some railings where we go fishing and just at the edge of the drop it is full of trolleys if you want to have a bit of fun getting them out 👍🏼
Good stuff be exciting to see them come out so we dont get snagged on them and snap our lines haha im Jimmy from bewsey in warrington would love a shoutout if you get round to it pal good luck 👍🏼

Mate, I subscribed when I saw your van pass my house in Warrington, almost a year after you posted this. What are the chances? (Actually, pretty good when you mention your old man lives in Howley!) 😂

@Paul magnet man Hoolihan apparently years ago there was rumour tropical fish were in there as its at side of pilkingtons glass and the hot water from the factory made the canal warm hence the name The Hotties
Paul caught crabs in Warrington lol that's mad. Seen crayfish and muscles in the canal but never crabs. Any idea on the history of the lock? Seams odd to be there. Keep up the good work #whitewellymagnetfishing

Great find
Went past that spot today on my bike. It's all fenced off for the construction of a hydro electric power station.
