    Julio suffered from weak scar tissue later in his career, also not to mention his age that caught up to him with all his 89 undefeated fights. This man will never be forgotten. The real GOAT.

    The fight I never wanted to see. My two favorites going at it. It’s funny because I remember in a interview Oscar was asked if he would ever fight his idol Chavez, and he said no 🤦‍♂️

      ESPN had both of them some years ago and they admitted that Chávez had that cut during the training, Oscar did said that he knew but Chávez didn’t cancel or said anything about postponing the fight

    I was just 10 when my dad took us to the neighbour's home to watch this fight outside his yard. He took out the tv and we all watched it with my brother, I wasn't much interested into it but now I see why it caught so much attention, never knew mr Chavez was an all-time legend with his amazing record.

    7:36-7:38 oscars reflexes , speed and explosiveness were no joke . That jump back and dash forward for a strike was beautiful.

      Exactly, that really bamboozled me how he managed to pull that shot off, and he did that again close to the end, but connected with the body shot, then hooks, then started the vicious combos that sealed the fight, shown at slow motion near the end.
      The exact same move started the end of the fight.

      Actually oscar ran all night stayed on the outside and made Chavez fight himself and his anger for not being able to catch oscar. But then again, Oscar made the perfect fight for him it was Chavez who fought against his anger that night and wasn’t able to fight Oscar.     I remember seeing this fight on PPV at the D.C. Armory. Immediately after the fight a group of hispanic men (around 40) were gathered outside in the parking lot. Suddenly it turned into a tornado of men brawling. Apparently over the fight

    Sheesh a prime Oscar was dangerous for those who don’t analyze watch how he moves in n out on his toes so effortlessly. Had that heavy jab that didn’t look strong but definitely stung his opponents. Really bring life to the saying “you gotta fly like a butterfly sting like a bee”. Real fundamentals of boxing 🥊

    Interesting thing to note.. Chavez was actually recovering from that cut due to him being on a talkshow in Telemundo about a week or 2 before the fight.. The way he got cut was his son Chavez Jr accidentally hit him in that same spot when he was a baby and Chavez was holding him.
