Kitchen cabinet doors can still be used in the design when slide out 'trays' are used for pots, food, small appliances, etc. but I do agree that under counter cupboards are generally not user-friendly!
THANK YOU! I had to fight for the two banks of drawers in our small kitchen as they are workhorses for the space. They are: Top one has silverware, then the deep bread drawer for all the bread, English muffins, HD/HB rolls. Below that is the bulky bags of chips, and the like. Over one bank has the top drawer of REUSABLE SPORTS BOTTLES THAT ALWAYS TIP OVER IF THEY ARE LEFT UPRIGHT. Below that is the PLASTIC LEFTOVER CONTAINERS/LIDS/SMALL TUPPERWARE-TYPE STUFF that always create clutter on the counter. Below that is the drawer for stacks of glass bowls/lids for microwave and leftovers. Opposite the room I opted to have a bank that opens up to a sizeable corral for small occasional appliances: wafflemaker, crockpot, blender, food processor blades, stand mixer. My kitchen works hard but very little counter clutter.
Never thought I would appreciate dark cabinetry but I love thre dark cabinets. They don't make the house feel dark at all. And the butcher island top is really gorgeous 👏🩷 I also.love what Erin did with the music room. The terracotta color is stunning 👏👏👏
The Terra Cotta colour is what we have in our west facing living and Dining room and in the cold Canadian winter it glows, the tree at Christmas makes the room glitter. Lovely choice!
The house is beautiful, but Erin made a large mistake with the entry. The house had a vestibule, perfect for keeping the outside out, matter the weather. She is also inexplicably pleased with having removed the front hall closet. You need somewhere to hang coats and other outerwear, not to mention changing footeear when the weather is not nice.
Its just feels home...less home renovation style, more cosy and homy feelings, Erin k kws how to welcome you, its all about personality not just interior design, i may not like black kitchens but i adore hers!! Love the dark cabinet, probably because she knows how to make it light and airy...not heavy cabinets.....am also not a fan of orange colour but i must say i would spend time in that little room reading books.....love it.
Graphic designers make a lot of money huh? I'm jealous, what a beautiful first home. Hope she gets the fresh start that she needs. Well done to Ben and Erin.
As an israeli interior designer I am absolutely in love with those brick floors, because nowhere could I find something like that here. Personally I didn’t care for the Wall colours in that little room. Also would have really liked to see the bedroom and the bathroom.
It’s Obvious that the owner DOESNT like the dark colors. That’s why they keep trying to talk about the bright colors. Y’all missed this one. You kept bringing up that you went to Art school. Sorry but your Art teacher was all about Gloom and Doom. What happened to Bright and Light? My wife and I built our home in 19. Everything, the colors we chose were welcoming, inviting warmth. We DIDN’T include Gloomy Grey or Death Black. We wanted our house to be refreshing
If a designer puts Gloomy Gray or Death Black in my house, they’re going to repaint those dreadful 1990 colors in brighter colors. But on these shows people say that It looks great, which is a bunch of BS

That is a lot of house for a 27 year old single girl! It is a beauty. Wish her many happy years there.
Ben's dad jokes never disappoint...."What tree has the best bark? A dogwood!" Lol😂❤🙏🇺🇲
What I really love about Ben and Erin, you don't just get a fantastic piece of property you also get a history lesson!
Ben is such a pure soul, I just love him.
I hope this girl will feel happy with her fresh start! Her mom is probably cheering her on and saying Live! You are on a good track! Have fun.
Her step dad is chef kiss*
This might sound odd, but that dining room is the best thing about this home! Excellent.
Thank you HGTV UK for given us youtube clips!!
Please use drawers in kitchen cabinets whenever you can, they are so much more user friendly than under counter cupboards.

Laurel looks like a lovely town....living in South Africa we can only dream about living like this....

“People are always painting this kind of brick.” Yes you do, Queen of the Brick Painters. 😆

Heartbreaking to hear about her mother passing. The father is handsome.
Yes her step dad looks very young.
We might have missed most of the sweet moments of this project, in this video, it doesn’t even touch it. Oh my goodness.
i JUST LOVE BEN. I WISH ERIN WOULD LET HIM SHINE MORE.

I love brick floors, walls.

So lovely.
Love the kitchen 😊
Hate, hate, hate those brick floors!
Belisima renovacion ❤
Sweet job!
A proprietária desta linda casa poderá sentir o verdadeiro Lar Doce Lar. Ficou linda!
The house has been bsautifully renovated but our young lady looks quite depressed. I sure hope she's ok.
I remember when houses in Laurel were inexpensive.
Güzel olmuş ,keşke zemini komple parke yapsaydınız
Great Judgment
What about the bedroom and bathroom???

All those black cabinets to me is a stereotypical interpretation of mid century modern. What a shame.
