External Vertical Garden in the Form of a Bench

The project of an external vertical garden in the form of a bench emerged as part of participation in the Suave EuroClusters program. The ‪@SUAVE_UrbanAgriculture‬ program focuses on supporting and developing urban agriculture. Thanks to this initiative, more plants, including edible ones, are appearing in cities! Among the plants chosen to fill this vertical garden, edible ones such as gooseberries and blackcurrants were chosen.
In the video, we present step by step how the external green wall was created. First, we constructed the framework to which we attached PlantaUp panels, in which the plants were planted.
The teenagers from the local community helped in plant their new vertical garden bench. The students learnt about the importance of green infrastructure in cities. Through a talk provided by us whilst relaxing on their new bench. To make our bench as ecofriendly as possible we installed a watering system which reuses rainwater collected in a special tank. This way, water is not wasted and remains in a closed loop.
