Just go to the ER. Tell them you have a history of seizures (even if you don't) and you have to do it from home. They are legally required to not release you without a taper of libruim or another long acting benzo.

Oh man I've been drinking scotch excessively everyday for about a year and I didn't understand why I'm nauseous and throwing up and I'm shaking inside and out, until when I was able to finally keep some more scotch down, all of my symptoms disappeared. That's when I knew that Ive gotten myself in big trouble. I start feeling the withdrawal even before noon. I have to cold turkey this, but it is just such torment and I have to be able to function for my priorities and responsibilities.

My withdrawal lasted around 3-4 months. The last craving I felt for drinking was after 6 months in. Somewhere around the 8 month mark I stepped on a scale, I had lost nearly 60 pounds. As a 150 lbs man I'd drink a 750ml spirit (normally vodka) in no absolutely no more than 5 hours, it wasn't surprising to finish the bottle closer to 3 hours, and if I could still stand I would go get another bottle. I drank like that for 7-8 years. At 20 years old I had alcoholic hepatitis, and the onset of cirrhosis. At 20 years old. I quit cold turkey, and it was the among the worst experiences in my life, I couldn't sleep, I'd sweat profusely, id shake, I'd get hot flashes and cold snaps, my bowel movements were disgusting, short of breathe, incredibly irritable. I beat my demons and I've been bone dry sober from day 1 coming up on 3 years in September

I hope you see my reply because I’m just slightly worried about quitting cold turkey. I’ve gone 33 hours without a drink and with little to no symptoms. My hands haven’t been this still in a while with virtually no shaking at all that I can see. I do not drink hard liquor anymore except for a couple to a few occasional bottles of red wine (per week). But before these 33 hours I was drinking a small “buzzball” accompanied by one OR two 24 ounce 5% seltzers everyday if not almost everyday (with the occasional bottle of sun that I mentioned if I felt like I wanted extra buzz for enjoyment). Any even just a little advice would be so very much appreciated at the moment. Like should I have tapered? Should I have one or two seltzers and cut out the buzzball and wine completely (as I feel comfy and willing to not having those)? I have set my mind to abstain from the drinks but I want to have some assurance that I’m safe to continue doing so because my health insurance renewal is pending and I have no means to immediate professional medical advice/ check-ups. I got better, decided to have a few beers here and there and I am back with the symptoms. Now I am really done drinking. I just had to ride it out for a while until I am back to normal again. Btw, exercise, walks, meditation and a healthy eating regime helps. Stay away from sugar and caffeine. Sugarless gatorade helps. A vegan diet also helps. Snack on apples and nuts when feeling the symptoms. It helps.

If your mom has been drinking a lot for a longer time then she needs to be looked after by a doctor if she is going to quit drinking alcohol because, yes she could die otherwise. If she doesn’t want to stop then you “forcing her to quit” won’t work, she will just start again. See if she would be willing to go to a treatment centre or program and talk to a doctor.

I’ve recently hit my second day, but out of the 11 years I’ve been addicted to at least sumthing, I’ve learnt sumthing out of this whole process, it dosnt matter about therapy, addict meetings, etc. It all depends on you. It’s okay to put yourself first within a positive spectrum, I’m 25, and I feel the affects from everything now and my body and mind is completely destroyed because of it. But now I understand after going thru all of this shit and it’s time to turn a new leaf and go upon a new journey and way of life. I’ve learnt that you have to fill your mind up with sumthing else that you enjoy that benefits you positively. I feel myself getting better just by not having 1 drink and I wanna continue it, cus it feels amazing again to not be on that shit. It’ll take time and complete focus on other things, instead of using the drink as a distraction from all this shit, distract your mind from the drink and don’t even think about it type shit. That doesn't even begin to describe what I went through.
I felt "trapped" that I couldn't get a drink. It got so bad at one point that I was going to take the plate off the light switch in the bathroom, stand in a puddle of salty water (high conductor of electricity) and grab the hot wires and kill myself.

Any free alternatives?

@@SadMach1n3 Well, I was a HUGE drinker. I tried to go sober by myself, but that didn't work. "Not saying some people can't just stop." I ended up going to rehab and getting put on gabapentin, but if you want to slowly get off, it will be hard. I mean very hard. Taper off i would say Set a goal to make it easier. But if you were a heavy drinker, the first thing you should get done is get your liver checked and see how much damage has been done. since that's what they did to me to see if it's was okay

      Keep yourself busy
If you can talk about it with someone, talk it's really helps
      And drink water
And promise yourself you will never bot yourself in this position again !
