Thanks Brian this is just the sort of video that appeals to me as a semi savvy computer user, and I had forgotten that I could use the scannow and Check disk commands which I shall run again as my main laptop has got reasonably slower over the last few months. The memory scan I am used to using the Memtest version and while I am not concerned about the memory it would be worth a try sometime. I did recently go to a techie who showed me the trick of how to fix the problem of my laptop's network card driver not allowing me to connect to the internet I had forgotten and I am sure I originally got that from you - my bad eh??. Again mate many thanks for pointing these out - great stuff mate as I am used to seeing your videos for many years - almost every day actually since the days of Windows 7 after I came to live in Australia😀

That was useful. I'm a long time LInux user so my knowledge of Windows admin tools is way outdated. Occasionally am called upon to help a Windows user get out of a hole so this was very informative.

@@Britec09 I went to bed last night with the extended memory test running. when I woke up this morning, it says that the mem test is still at 7% done. I cancelled it. Now, the PC i s again running slow. I again ran the same tests and the PC is still slow. I am now running the basic mem test.

With my Favorites menu (docked to the taskbar at the top of the screen with a third-party utility), I have recently lost default icons set for each link and clicking on any of them asks me to verify that I want to proceed. All of this happened after installing the latest Win 11 update. I'm now contemplating doing a clean reinstall by hand or going back to Win 10 because I don't trust the system's Restore or Reset options.

Question for you: On my PC w/ i7 14700K, windows 11 installed a display driver for the built in Intel graphics but I have an NVidia GPU which has the latest driver from NVidia. The problem is every time I wake my PC from sleep it crashes with the bsod and power failure blah blah. Most recommend uninstalling the video driver. What should I do since there are two please? Oh, the mobo is MSI MPG Carbon WiFi II. Thanks Another thing, I cannot wake my PC from sleep with mouse movement or keypress. I hate this windows 11. I have a list probably two dozen lines long of what's wrong with it just for starters.

5 steps to fix Windows 11
    - format c:
    - Plug in Linux ISO USB and reboot
    - Go into BIOS and select USB
    - Install Linux
    - Update

So we have to become "technicians" in order to TWEAK everything out that Microsoft has "hidden" in their OS? Even changing "Registry Keys" and other BS...I now understand why they were practically giving Microsoft Windows 11 away for 'FREE".. it's because there is no such thing as a Free lunch. Microsoft knows that most us have no choice but to use Windows at work or at school and just like any Good PUSHER the first taste is always free, but then once they get you "hooked" they can get their all of their investment back ten-fold with interest through direct marketing and adverts and by selling our private information to other marketers? Why not what a great deal they own us, and nobody reads the "fine print"... WOW!
