      Awesome! I don't use it for every vocal but sometimes it just helps the vocalist tremendously.

      @@AnitaPotterProductions I'm pretty sure it doesn't work every project. But the project I am working on now, the vocals are a little thin and needs some extra meat in it. Literally covered the bases ,,👍🙂

    • @AnitaPotterProductions
      @AnitaPotterProductions  3 месяца назад +1

      That's the type of vocals I mainly use it for. Particular singers that need a little lift. They sound good but need a little more presence in the mix. If a vocal needs more I'll send it to another track and heavily compress it then blend that back in. Works like a treat too.

      @@AnitaPotterProductions That's right Anita 😉, I watched part one where I couldn't hear the end result. Fortunately, I read one of the comments where you promised to record the second part. It was hard to find because you have a lot of interesting content on your channel 😀. Thanks again and best regards 👍.

    Ever try a few milli seconds of delay on the pitch channel

      I haven't tried that. I'm wondering if that might cause phase issues. Let me know more about what it does I'm interested to learn.

    I will try this also lol
    I always double my voise for metal..i will keep one track clean ..with eq and compessor..in center
    And the other voise over track copy and pasted,then dragged with delay or reverb with Eq panned at 25% L and R
    Again im new with vocal recording but now im gonna try the thick trick on my clean middle track and back off a bit on the delays L and R

    What a great video, i was wondering if this was possible inside reaper. Thanks for showing this. However im wondering if there is also a possibility to place a slight delay between the left and right side?

    • @AnitaPotterProductions
      @AnitaPotterProductions  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Mevzu! You could possibly add a delay between the left and right side. The only way I could think that it could work would be to have two separate tracks one containing the left side thickening and the other containing the right side thickening. The JS Delay plugin reaper comes with might do the trick. I would experiment with adding it before and after the thickening to see which works and sounds better to you. Just out of curiosity, because this is the first time this has been asked anywhere that I've seen, why would you want a slight delay on them? Let me know :)

      @@AnitaPotterProductions Well i saw this trick on a video of warren huart, but he was using doubler from waves. And when i looked to his settings inside that plugin i saw that one side had 9ms delay and the other side 23ms with both sides panned 45 left and right. Since i have no budget to buy that plugin and discovered whats possible inside reaper thanks to you, i was curious if i could also add that delay inside reaper to replicate that plugin. Maybe it isnt even needed but i just want to try it out of curiosity. I will try it out as soon as im able to get behind my pc. Thanks again for the video and thanks for the fast reply😁

      @@Mevzuderin That's where I got that from Warren's video. But I never noticed the delays on the left or right before in his version in the doubler. I'll have to look that up again and pay closer attention to it. You're very welcome and thanks for letting me know about the delays I appreciate it.

    by "thickening" do you mean vocal doubling? I've been using the izotope vocal doubler for that lately.

    • @AnitaPotterProductions
      @AnitaPotterProductions  3 года назад +1

      It's kind of like doubling but different. I view vocal doubling as either duplicating the vocal track or the singer doing their own vocal double. The vocal thickening I see as enhancing what's already there to add a little more by blending it underneath the main vocal. It's not a track that needs to be at the same volume as the lead vocal but brought up just enough to add more presence to the lead vocal.

    Quick question, do you send the vocal thick tracks to verb?

    • @AnitaPotterProductions
      @AnitaPotterProductions  3 года назад +1

      Hey Bill. I don't send the vocal thickening track to reverb. I've only been sending it straight to my mix bus. Have you sent it to reverb? Curious about your thoughts on it.

    • @TheWilliamlong1
      @TheWilliamlong1 3 года назад +1

      @@AnitaPotterProductions I have been sending both to the reverb. However, I think I may try without it. To me I get a garbled sound.. the verb may be the cause.

    • @TheWilliamlong1
