    Whats really special about 'Singlethread' is the japanese style, which seperates it from other farm-to-table concepts. They even have these japanese electric toilets 😂.

      It's really not that deep. At this level of cooking, it's no longer about how "good" the food is. Food worthy of being mentioned in the Michelin guide is already meant to taste phenomenal, cooked phenomenally. The difference between one star and three is in the prestige of the experience: the finesse in the use of interesting, innovative techniques; the uniqueness of the ambience and presentation. This prestige is not set in stone; it is affected by trends, and the artistic license awarded to the chef.

    • @gfair2
      @gfair2 Год назад +2

      @@justinfung4351 This comment seems to be a reply to the original but truly doesn't address the substance of the issue being discussed. A bit wide of the mark - definitely a good explanation of how the Michelin rating system works, though.

    i dont mind plant based cooking. i just hate when people try to make plants taste like meat. Like vegetarian Indian food is bomb but they dont go and try and make a plant based goat flavored curry, its just a simple vegtable curry

    J'ai vu une fois une femme étrange à Paris, qui avait une toile d'araignée sur le visage et un liquide noir suintant de ses yeux et du décolleté d'une belle robe en dentelle blanche de Bruxelles. Cette femme était un escargot. À son approche, j'ai senti une odeur terrible, comme celle d'une tortue morte cuite avec des œufs. Je ne pouvais même pas bouger et la femme en a profité. Elle m'a embrassé sur la bouche et j'ai commencé à m'étouffer. Heureusement, un policier est passé par là et m'a libéré de l'emprise de la bête. La méchante femme monta alors les escaliers jusqu'à Montmartre comme poussée par le vent. Ensuite, j'ai eu une éruption cutanée sur tout le corps, je ressemblais à une sorte de girafe estropiée, sans pattes ni queue.

    why does Michelin stars matter? Well, they mean money. That's why they matter. It's like winning an Oscar. It's not relevant when it comes to objective quality. But it means business, money, fame.

    • @ligier
      @ligier  Год назад +1

      noted! am trying to do more of that - sometimes it's difficult in situations like these because there's a small group of people and the chefs and i prioritize being unintrusive/respectful rather than talking over people or taking too much time filming during a meal (i want to enjoy the food too!), but i am figuring out ways to be quicker and do more live talking 😉
