Thank you!! You helped me disasemble my Mac to clean due to a water spill. Cleaning it with Isopropyl Alcohol and a toothbrush worked and it's alive again!

For my Mac a p5 tool and torx 3 tool was needed to open and remove stuff. Bought at Microcenter, but you can get them on Amazon for I think $6. 5. A nylon tool set for cell phone repair, again Amazon or Microcenter. Just a small set of a few things. You need nylon so it doesn't rip connectors and stuff. I had one, but should be a few dollars 6. A bottle of Isopropyl alcohol at Walmart, I think less than $2 7. An unused tooth brush 8. Basically took the Mac apart, cleaned all electronic boards, used a can of compressed air to blow it out. Let it sit over night and re-assembled. 8. OMG it worked!!! 😀😎😮😂

After almost 10 years of reliable service my Mac Air started acting erratically. I had trouble powering on, powering off and then once on the screen would go blank on and off. After watching video I started disconnecting and then reconnecting cables checking performance after each disconnect/reconnect. I did battery first and then SSD drive - no luck. The third disconnect - i/o flex cable from logic board to the i/o board did the trick. Mac is now working perfectly. Thank you Powerbook Medic! Prior to looking at your video I had never even taken the back off my Mac.
Just purchased mine used for 350 bucks. With a fresh install of macOS catalina it tuurns out to be a lot more powerful than other laptops I could find for 350$. The build quality is out of this world not to mention the battery that even at 1000+ cycles can get me 4-5 hours of light to moderate usage and now I totally get the hype around apple products.
