I have been listening to bada kheyals for over fifty years, and I wish I had an opportunity to find someone who could explain the secret behind how kheyal singers can magically figure out where exactly to catch the mukhda, so as to arrive correctly at the SOM. Without this knowledge, I had formed my own theories, that you had pointed out, and shown to be impractical and complex. This video is a must for anybody interested in understanding vilambit kheyal singing, with or without access to a guru. Kudos!

Very good tips for Ektal. But Vilambit teentaal confuses me. How do you distinguish a marker like तिरकीट there? Also when performing in real, the tabla player fills in various sounds in vilambit. So it's confusing to look for specific bol. How do you do that?
