- After flying helicopters in MSFS 2020 in and around Paris using the ORBX Paris and VFR France Heliports & helipads scenery, I was curious to see how the default version of MSFS 2024 compares now that all heliports and helipads are available by default.
In this video I'm taking off from Issy heliport LFPI at the south-west side of Paris and am landing at a few of the helipads in the area, plus doing some general sightseeing.
My first impressions of MSFS2024: I like it a lot and it will be my go-to sim for VFR flying. It's got a few issues to sort out, but it has lots of potential already.

The ground effect on building and such is way of. They really need to fix that. Its way to powerfull!
Yes, I fully agree. It's such a shame that it was released in this state. Hope it will be fixed soon!
A huge improvement compared to 2020 regarding helicopters. Even though I still prefer DCS, but this is very fun and promising for future addons.
Is it just me that have an issue with cold start of the R66? I have a really hard time to get the governor to kick in when I put on the throttle. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here?
Indeed a good improvement! I'm looking forward to seeing the new flight model integrated with our favourite FS2020 helicopters if and when they are ported over.
I think I only cold-started the default R66 once and that worked? I did have various other problems during the first troublesome days of the 2024 release, maybe this has all been resolved? I have not really done much in 2024 lately.
