Thanks for your comments :) I think the singing was done in 10-15 takes or so. More than that and my voice gets tired. Hehe, no I didn't think of the slowdown. I wasn't trying to make a 1:1 replica of it, obviously. The harmonies aren't exactly like the original either, but at least not out of tune I think :) In any case, just setting tempo changes in Cubase to make a gradual slow-down of the tempo is nothing difficult, if I would have wanted to... I think :) Cheers!
@TranceElevation Thanks :) Though I'm quite pleased with it, I do prefer the original. I may not adore the original arrangement but it's hard to compete with Martin's voice. The bass is U-He Zebra. You can hear my version on soundcloud as well, as noted in the details. Not available for download yet though. Maybe I'll do that some day :)
@TranceElevation Thank you again for your kind words. If you mean that little "hill" visible at the bottom of the screen at around 2 minutes it's the "value" of the mod-wheel as I'm moving it while playing the melody. The patch itself does seem to have some portamento on it, yes, but I don't quite remember :)
Hi and thanks for your comment :) If you click on "Show more" under the clip it will expand the info and you will see a soundcloud link and a list of the software I used.
@maisky Yeah, others have commented the similarity of the bass as well :) It was completely unintentional though. However, I guess it's not completely unlikely that I was subconsciously inspired by In Your Room considering DM is my all-time favourite band ;) Thanks for your comment!
Dude, that`s awesome. That`s not the most popular song of DM, but I really fell in love with it when I heard it in Exciter tour. So I began to look for any covers on youtube, but most of them were ridiculous))) But then I found yours, and all I can say is that it`s really brilliant. I like your version - it`s still similar to the original but unique, and you have a nice voice.
This is abseloutly brilliant mate. such a great version. what a talent. I have tried doing great songs with a sequencer its takes ages eh. I love it. Subscribed
@Synthpeter Do you plan to release it in some future? Imo this piece should be on the market and somehow exposed more. Very dynamic / unusual for today's standard. Also, at 1:56...is that glide/portamento + volume automation?
This cover I have to say is simply astonishing. I won't exaggerate if I say I prefer your version over the original. Great melancholic atmosphere. Is there a way to have a copy of this amazing work please? Btw, cannot see what vst you used for the bassline.
Best cover of DM’s best song! You blew me away. 👍👍👍
Still the best cover! 😁
Awesome, thanks for this!

Lovely stripped back version of one of DM's most overlooked classics.
Thanks for posting.
