    Thanks for the show. Really appreciate it. But the woman commentator was way off at 46:00-47:00. That two ball definitely hit rail.

    There was a discussion of the measle ball. It seems to me the measle ball plays much more like a heavy rock vs the cue ball that comes with a cyclop set. It requires more force to get your speed and spin. The cyclop cue ball almost feels like it has a softer outside...soft being a relative term here. It also seems to me that the measle ball is slightly larger than some sets at the local pool hall. It tends to crawl up and jump on many more ocassions than other cue balls. Like it's equator is slightly higher.

      @RichardsWorld 6 лет назад +3

      You need to play with a matching set of balls. You shouldn't just add a cue ball from a different company.

    When the commentator said “I don’t know if he has a shot” (1:22:30), all I thought was you must not know whose up at the plate. John shoots banks the way people shoot hangers.

    39:28 is there a foul for moving a ball when removing the rack?

  • @camaroman2205
    @camaroman2205 6 лет назад

    Yes. Nine ball is on the spot.

    Accu rack seems to affect the path of the balls much more significantly than other template racks.

    • @DominiKing32

      Antonio Hernandez, magic rack is way superior.

    • @RichardsWorld
      @RichardsWorld 6 лет назад +1

      Yeah, it's terrible to see the balls roll funny when hitting that rack.

    • @jeremystark3350
      @jeremystark3350 5 лет назад +1

      It always annoys me to see flight of ball change due to these type of racks. Why can't they just use a regular rack to freeze the rack, it is possible.

  • @Mickster114
    @Mickster114 5 лет назад

    At 23:40 how did johnny just hand the rack back to Brumback? Brumback passed 3 balls past the head-string when he broke. So how did johnny give it back w out a push out?

    • @RailbirdsTV
      @RailbirdsTV  5 лет назад

      My guess is they didn't notice the 4 ball going up and down table, and thought it was an illegal break.

    • @Mickster114
      @Mickster114 5 лет назад

      RailbirdsTV yea i figured that as well. That’s pretty clear. Im just surprised neither of them noticed it is what im saying. Thats the thing about that head-string rule. You have to pay attention to so many balls on the table flying around in high speed, it can be difficult to keep track of what ball passed and didnt. I personally dont like the rule in general as well. It should be removed. As long as the player is making an effort to break with some force, it should be a perfectly legal break.

  • @rogerscottcathey

    I like 1 & 7/8" balls on all table sizes. Seeing 2 & 1/4" feel like monster balls, lol.

  • @jeremystark3350
    @jeremystark3350 5 лет назад

    Why do they spot the nine ball on the spot? I grew up always putting the one ball on the spot.

    • @5000rgb
      @5000rgb 3 года назад

      They have moved up the rack from one ball spot to 9 ball on the spot in many tournaments to make sinking balls on the break harder.

    I remember when Johnny was just a young looking teenager. Now he is looking like a grandpa. I guess a long career in pool is tough on the body.

    • @VIProfessor
      @VIProfessor 6 лет назад +1

      In this case, I think it's lack of exercise and too many Mountain Dews that's been hard on Johnny's body. In comparison, Earl is a few years older and has had the longer career. But Earl stays in shape!

    So, commentator says one of the reasons the table plays fast is because of the cold. I thought it was the other way around. If the cold made the table fast, why would they use heated tables in 3 cushion billiards and snooker?

    • @RailbirdsTV
      @RailbirdsTV  6 лет назад +1

      Heat or cold by itself doesn't make tables fast or slow. It's the humidity. Heated tables (like in 3 cushion) drive the humidity out of the table. And here at Derby, the cold air coming in from outside was very dry. The dryness of the cold air is what makes it play faster.

    • @tone-yo7192

      Makes perfect sense. Thanks for responding! One day I hope to be in one of your streamed matches. One day...

    • @RT-Ford

      Cold air deadens the cushions. Try playing pool in a room where the temperature is 40 degrees. The balls won't go anywhere.

    • @RichardsWorld
      @RichardsWorld 6 лет назад

      As Railbirds says, it's the humidity. You will notice in the very cold winter temperatures the humidity is low, and many people get the dry skin in the winter.

    @ 33:15 to --:20, the commentators are indulging in small talk about the tournament & players etc; NOT SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT THE ONGOING GAME !! So disappointing....

    • @sampsonlll1825
      @sampsonlll1825 5 лет назад +2

      The female commentator would quite often offer single doses of banality or divulge into a length platitude with little to no relation to the match at hand. Macro commentary of the tournament would've been best kept during racking. The coverage itself is much appreciated though...

  • @jeremystark3350

    Misses ball in hand on the 3 @11:00. Not sure why he shot it in the side, either corner pocket was a much easier shot to get on 4 ball.

  • @daveoas
    @daveoas 6 лет назад

    Why racking 9 on the spot?

    • @nakke3
      @nakke3 6 лет назад +2

      Makes it more difficult to make the wing ball and with the brake box rule they are going more for 1 in the side. There's less brake-and-run streaks and with the 3 point rule theres more randomnes to the brake. This results in more variety, safety and tactical game.

    • @RailbirdsTV
      @RailbirdsTV  5 лет назад

      At Derby City, they have a special rule. If you're close to a ball, as long as you elevate 45 degrees, you will not be called for a double hit. Even if it is.

    • @cqsqaqwq
      @cqsqaqwq 5 лет назад +1

      RailbirdsTV ok thanks for clarifying. I thought it was a very important shot until I seen what Brumback did on his next shot which wasn’t a good choice. He should have played safe there.

      Picture looks clear to me. If you're watching on a computer (as opposed to phone or TV) click the gear icon (settings) and make sure quality is set to 1080p. On the RUclips app on a phone, tap the video while its playing, hit the "..." menu and check the quality setting there.
