    Actually, the numbers coming around the corner on the short rail is in half diamond increments of 10 units each just as they are along the opposite short rail for aiming.
    The corner is 80. One half diamond past that would be 90, and another half diamond would be 100, which is the first full diamond along the short rail.
    Therefore, the number values for the 3 diamonds along the short rail are 100, 120, and 140, respectively.

    It's a good system, for those that do not like numeric systems theres is an extremely simple, quick and accurate geometric method: unite the cue ball and the object ball with an imaginary line and find its mid point, project a line from there to the center of corner pocket in front of you, and just shoot parallel to that line. It might sound complicated but it actually requires just to stand a little further from the table and use your cue as a reference.

    • @wDawks
      @wDawks 3 года назад +8

      This is the method I use. Find the mid point between cue ball and object ball. Aim from that spot to the pocket the cue ball will travel past. Then parallel shift the line you've made from the mid point to behind the cue ball and shoot toward the rail from there. Worked like magic the very first time I learned it. Its harder to explain than it is to demonstrate.

    The thing which I criticize most with all those counting systems (no matter which one) is the way how they are introduced: always with having object balls along the rails which makes it easier to get into the system. But you'll rather have situations with cueball and objectball somewhere on the table which makes those systems way more complicated.

      My favorite are the "3 Rail Kicking systems " where the video starts with them putting a ball in the corner pocket then non chalantly kicking 3 rails on the line we learned at age 12 and after making it look up like they did something impressive then go on to not move the object ball and meaningful distance. I get not starting with a difficult position but after explaining the basics there's no reason to not move on to more difficult positions.

    This is not a mathematical system. It still requires intuition and experience. Jennifer mentions several times "about two tips of running english". This "system" is simply a general indication of where to aim. How do I measure "about two tips of running english" reliably?
    I would like to see her present one that does not require any sort of intuition or "feel".
    That would be a powerful system.
    I enjoy your videos a great deal...please keep posting. My problem is that many "Pros" cannot instruct someone without using an intangible, such as how much running english. Her system, although fundamentally based on a quantifiable numeric system, requires a good deal of intuition and experience. For instance, Rollie misses a shot and then makes the same shot when she offers her cue to him. How is that a quantifiable system? (the reason I use quotations is they are not professionals - just like "professional" football players are not professional in the legal sense. The title professional is provided to someone that can due you harm if they do not act in your best interest. The original professionals are - Accountants, Lawyers, Doctors, and Architects. Let's all stop incorrectly using the term "professional" to someone that simply makes money at his or her job. There is no such thing as a "professional" athlete unless he/she is also giving you monetary/legal/medical or building advice at the same time as catching a pass, dunking a basketball, shooting a puck, putting a golf ball...etc.)
    Show me a 2 Rail Kick system that does not require the implementation of any type of intuition or "feel" and I will pay attention.
    Let the vitriol begin.
    Let's all stay safe and stay apart...we can all get through this! Fuck Covid! Whatever it takes, We will beat it!
    Regards,
    Kevin Tischer

      Well if running english makes the balls go long and top english makes the balls go long as well, i would presume a center ball hit would make the ball come up 5 or 10 points short. With that in mind, if you can figure out exactly what your table shoots like (differing tables, age of rail, rail used, cloth/felt etc) then you just need to add your tables number to the location of the object ball and hit center ball. Regardless though people are human and everyone has different strokes and abilities in regards to where they hit the cue ball as well as tips and low deflection. So no matter what "system" you use your going to have to develop intuition and have the experience to make your shot due to the multitude of variables. This is what separates the "professionals" from the avg joe.
      Also in the case of "professional" athletes i think the title is given to them because they are paid to do something that doesnt require payment, its their work and only source of income. Kinda like a plumber, you can do it your self or pay someone to do it, if they are better at it than the next guy you pay them more. But i do see your point as far as overusing the term professional. But in that respect is there a more accurate word/title to someone who is paid to do something?

    Since safety play is an integral part of the game/s, learning some type of accurate kicking system is important. I knew the plus system, but did not know you could use it like this. Everyone else has you counting the difference between the origin and the target and then aiming for the diamond that equals the difference. (If you need to hit two diamonds up from the originating diamond, you aim at 2, or 20 with her numbers, which is 1/2 way between the corner pocket and the first diamond.) But seeing that you can use this by going from 0 along the long rail and the two numbers add up to the target makes this so much easier to understand. The point on the wall is flawed, if you don't get the right distance from the table. But there are ways to zero in on the exact point and take out the guessing. It makes more sense after watching it a 2nd time. Hopefully I'll remember this next time I need it.

    why dont westerners understand that kicking is so simple. If you ask a filipino how to kick, theyll just say - just mirror the table and the balls dude - and you could kick like a filipino. it also works for bank shots, 3-cushion billiards and many more. if you ask efren reyes how to bank he'll likely say just to mirror the pocket where you want to shoot it. its so simple.

  • @realchicagophill
    @realchicagophill Год назад

    Putting English on the ball is silly. You are just creating inconsistencies by trying to close the angle by spinning the ball. The goal of systems is to produce repeatable and reliable shots. With this you have to account for both speed and spin while hitting your spot with accuracy. That’s no good. This will not work for most people.

    Two tips of English is almost impossible with every cue I've ever used. It just slides off with a horrible sound. Even one tip is pushing it.

  • @CosplayZine
    @CosplayZine 4 месяца назад

    It would seem like if youre trying to hit the ball in rather than directly on the ball that a touch of low outside spin would go infront of the target area. Knowing how it reacts without two tips of english is important so you can calibrate. And that may make the difference when the ball doesnt exactly line up with the system and youre having to go with the closest line. You cant simply go with it and not expect a varied or inconsistent result.

    An aiming system should not require the use of English in order for it to work. Different equipment and different types of shooting strokes will give you way too many varied results.

    I play professional pool and this is not accurate. She is a pool player and she know well that everything is up to the english that you put on the cue ball. No matter where you shoot, if you put the exact amount of english you'll be right on the spot. Its all practice and instinct.

    I can see that this is a powerful system and will definitely practice this next time I'm at a table! I have a question about the "spot on the wall" method. Is the idea behind a distant spot that when you move over just a small amount from the original line-up between, say, the 50 and 30 line(for a shot to the corner) that you are basically doing a parallel shift of your cue line? Is the actual difference in direction when you pivot around the "spot on the wall" just negligible, and it basically give you that parallel shift? Thanks for any insight anyone has about this!

    • @ColinReilly7Leaf
      @ColinReilly7Leaf Год назад

      I don’t think the parallel shift method really works with 2 or 3 rail shots. It’s slightly more complex than that. The blind spot method works well for me though on 2 and 3 rail shots. But I find myself needing to apply left/inside English rather than top English.

  • @1Skeptik1

    Cool! I often use "spot on the wall" for 3 rails, I didn't know it worked with 2. (I used math only.)
