Thank you for this comparison. I’ve tried many and have stuck with Annie’s Treasures. Also like Bohs. These are literally all the brands I’ve tried too!
Hi, thank you for taking the time to thoroughly test these different brands. Loved your chickens! I'll definitely be trying Bohs next time I run out. Great tutorial and much appreciated x
Very interesting and useful video I'm just now looking up foam Clay is it basically a plastic air dry clay? Wondering how environmentally friendly it is. And you absolutely got me with the "relax it's just chickens" part. 😁
@@WakkasLove 😂thank you! Yes I worry about that too and to my knowledge PVA glue is the basis of this clay, it’s where it’s getting its slimey qualities from. And PVA glue breaks down into non-toxic components when exposed to moisture and microorganisms. It just takes time to compost but it will unlike polymer clay.
It does not stay squishy. It takes a while to fully dry and harden and depends on the size of the figure. I am trying to figure timelines out right now and noticed even my small 1.5 inch marshmallows take 2 weeks to completely harden. BUT they are already safe to handle and hold up after 24-48h. By then they still have a squish to them but this will go away over time.
I think non of them (other than hobbylobby) had a noticeable shrinking. I was definitely surprised. Might need to try a different design to test further.

I liked Annie’s too! I still have a bunch left over and want to work more with all of them.

Thank you! Glad you liked it! ❤
This is amazingly helpful. Thank you so much for all your work!
Thank you!
Liked the testing. Loved the chickens. Did you use a mold for the chickens or did you make it by hand.
@@ButtercupCreationz thank you so much! I made them by hand

@@HumbleBeesCreations Thank you for this answer! That is great!
how hard is foam clay after drying? is it squishy or plyable?
It does not stay squishy. It takes a while to fully dry and harden and depends on the size of the figure. I am trying to figure timelines out right now and noticed even my small 1.5 inch marshmallows take 2 weeks to completely harden. BUT they are already safe to handle and hold up after 24-48h. What do you recommend to use to color the clay?
I use gel food colors from chefmaster. They come in a little squeeze bottle and makes it easy to use one drop at a time.
Which one shrunk less ?
I think non of them (other than hobbylobby) had a noticeable shrinking. I was definitely surprised. Might need to try a different design to test further.
