Thanks for the review, I love seeing reviews from other sources other than USA. I was born and raised in California and your English is very good, no problems understanding you. Thank you so much for an honest different world perspective!
I think people should be gratefull for having this reviews with great quality in english! Much greater quality review than many others whith better english...
It's always a nice to get an EU opinion on our new corvette. Nice job explaining it. I visit Germany often for business and I have seen a Corvette on your autobahn. It always puts a smile on my face. See you soon my German friends.
Yes but you were wrong on a few things, the stock Corvette Stingray 0-60 is 3.7, 0-62 is about the same at around 3.8 not 4.2 the camaro SS is 4.2. Now some people have been able to accelerate quicker than that at 3.5, 3.6
Great review. As a C7 owner I appreciate that you took the time to learn the history of Corvettes and what makes the C7 a great leap forward for Chevy. Not sure if the Grand Sport is available in Europe yet, but if you get a chance to drive it you will love it even more than the Stingray.
Great review once again, in-depth, entertaining, and most importantly you bring in your experience to judge if it is a good car or not. Keep up the good work team!
Best review of the Stingray I have ever seen. It would be awesome if the ending is a full top speed blast on the Autobahn (safely, of course). I am certain this car can do more than 290 km/h. :)
I loved the in depth video, nice to see that American muscle cars are being developed for the rest of the world to enjoy as we do here in the USA. Now that mustangs and camaro (hopefully challenger or similar to from Dodge) will be world wide, we can start exporting instead of importing enjoyable affordable cars? I have always been a Mustang fan, but bought my wife (Petra) a 2014 camaro ss and we love it. My next will be the C7 corvette. Keep up the good work!
Very nicely done, Jan! It was very in-depth and entertaining. Do you think this will do well in Germany? Thanks for including some eye candy in the video (Sarah) 😊
aquateen77723 oh, thanks a lot. Well, not sure about Jans opinion, but I think: no. unfortunately not. I'd love to see more of them on german roads. But reality tells me a different story. I think in my entire life I have seen maybe 3 or 4 corvettes here.
you do very good reviews!!! adequate information for a car buyer on the car you choose to review. can u please do a review on the porsche cayman s or gts version?
Thank you very much for your kind words. We wont have any time for a Porsche this year, but next year, I'd really like to take a closer look at the Cayman GTS. [Jan]
Awesome review!!! I live in the United States, and was thinking about getting one of these, and its good to get a review of someone besides an American. Also, which other car would you is similar, or is on par with the C7 Stingray?
Great review, much appreciated. It's easy for us Americans to praise the vette so I like to hear what Europeans say about it, specially Germans because in my opinion the Germans do have the best European cars that are priced right, unlike uhm Ferrari. I am waiting on the new Z06 to come out and I will test drive that and the Porsche and decide. Once again great job.
xoxo Thank you! And let us know which key you're finally gonna hold in ur hands then! Personally, I would go for the Corvette. There's not too many of them on the roads. :) [Sarah]
Hey dude it's the 2nd review video for the c7 stingray that i've watched from you fot the new c7 stingray the 1st was in German although that i don't speak German at all i liked it and i've also posted a funny comment about quandom physics..lol i was just kidding :-) B.t.w awsome review video here in English ,i'm not an eglish man or usa i have to say your english is awesome i understood every single word you said also the new c7 is an awesome car of course nothing is perfect and i would buy it if i could afford it of course :-) but unfortunately i can't :-( Thx for the upload dude :-)
+James Palumbo I thought it was very interesting and overall I enjoyed my stay very much. I think if you know Kentucky you know more about America than stayling in California or NYC. [Jan]
Chris Kim Interesting question! I havent driven the Cayman yet, so I am not really able to judge. But I would choose the Corvette over the Cayman anyway as I like the V8 sound and the lines of the C7 overall. On the other hand, I have family and buying a 2-seater does not make sense to me. I would prefer the CLA 45 AMG oder the A 45 AMG. And as a father and husband probably - and not with my heart - choose the CLA 45 AMG over the Corvette. And then. If I had the money, I would rather take a Mercedes-AMG C 63 Coupé - either the old version, which I love or maybe the new version whenever it comes out. [Jan]
I saw a Dutch review of this car and they said it costs as much to buy as a 911, is it priced less in Germany or is it about the same as a 911 like it is in the Netherlands? Personally I'll take the 911 if the C7 is priced the same, way, way better quality.
I just picked up my new 2015 Crystal Red Tintcoat C7 Z51 at the National Corvette Museum and drove it 2800 miles back home to Tacoma, WA. Great trip, interrupted unfortunately by running over a small deer carcass in Missouri (no damage thank God), followed by a speeding ticket in Wyoming .... wait for it!...... a whole 10mph over the speed limit. I lost my temper at the COP so bad my wife was convinced we were going to jail. I was actually cursing at him. I'm not proud of this, I just lost my temper as I was sure I was "selected" for a ticket while pickup trucks were passing me on both sides and being ignored. Hey boy, you ina heepa trouble now son, are we acommunicatin'?! Now youa just crossed the Johnson County Lan'. Am I a makin' my self clear yankee? So anyway, the car is fantastic. I join you in a couple nit noy observations: The Nav system is not intuitive. I'm getting more used to it now though. No GPS elevation anywhere I can find though on it. Not once did the CAGS 1-4 shifter lockout kick in in a 2800 mile trip. Not once! Don't buy the $25 CAGS eliminator like I did, you won't need it. The iPhone, I verified with the manual, doesn't work well at all through the bluetooth link, you need to use a USB connection. Not a big deal, but pretty antiquated. I'm 5'8", and my wife is 5'9", and the car is perfect for us. My nephew who is 6'4" tried it. No way could he fit in comfortably at all. I'm surprised at GM for not shortening up the cargo area a little to accommodate taller drivers. Have to disagree with you a little on the BOSE sound system. Play around with the Treble, Midrange, and Bass settings and I think you'll get it how you want it. There is also very cool infotainment settings where you can change the focal point for the music to driver, vehicle midpoint, or passenger. Very cool. I like using the settings in the infotainment section to put the car in Track exhaust mode all the time. The neighbors have loud dogs anyway, so this is payback. So anyway, great German review! (I was stationed in Mainz Finthen Army Flugplatz in 1975-1977. Loved it, traveled everywhere. Zok!!
Joe Siegel Thank you for your detailed feedback, Joe. I have to tell you, I am quite jealous. Not only about the car, but as well about you picking it up at the museum. I ve read some news that they wanted to establish the hole as part of the museum now? Anyhow, have lots of fun with the Stingray! [Jan]
Ausfahrt.tv I could have gone either way on the manual. Couldn't decide until the last minute. The paddle shifters would've been cool, but all in all, I enjoy it mostly. Pro- The CAGS never kicks in. Not once have I been forced to go from 1 - 4. And that includes a 2800 mile drive home from Kentucky. I bought a $25 defeater but haven't had to install it. The throttle %, ambient air pressure, and oil temperature parameters for CAGS enabling were set very tight by the engineers. That's a good thing. Con- As Jan mentioned, I've missed shifts quite a lot. Especially from 7th to 6th. Often I end up in 4th. From what I've read on the forums, MGW makes a great aftermarket shifter that takes care of this problem. www.mgwltd.com/corvette_short_throw_shifter.shtml

Thank you for the honest review of the Corvette. American reviews are biased, this was not.
Our pleasure! Glad u liked it. [Sarah]
Ausfahrt.tv Great Review! I live in Mainz and noticed that you had Groß Gerau tags on the car. Did you film in Hessen or Rheinland Pfalz?
Yes but you were wrong on a few things, the stock Corvette Stingray 0-60 is 3.7, 0-62 is about the same at around 3.8 not 4.2 the camaro SS is 4.2. Now some people have been able to accelerate quicker than that at 3.5, 3.6

The best reviewer I've seen thus far on you tube..and not because you like the Ray but because you are in depth and fun..keep it up .thx
Thank you very much. You are too kind! [Jan]
Nice review! Charming accent. Don't loose it! Americans like accents ... but you probably already know that. Can't wait to see if you like the Z06.
December314 It was a longer struggle to get the C7, I am not sure, if we can get a Z06 anytime soon. [Jan]
It's great to see your point of view for this great American Icon. Coming from an M3, 135i, SLK55, and S4 owner living in the States.
lebmingling Thank you very much for your kind words. [Jan]
Excellent review, so detailed and great points.
goons123flofy Thank you very much! [Jan]

Thanks mate, too kind! [Jan]

W. Tuck WONG Thank you very much for your kind words. Indeed the Stingray was limited to 290 km/h - I would not have stopped pushing ;) [Jan]

Cheers back. I do know Louisville pretty well (at least for a German) ;) Go Cards!!! [Jan]
Your English is great! Your review ist schon, und der C7 ist geil. Das ist mein Deutsch!
Haha. Awesome. Your German seems better than my English:) [Jan]

Great review! Greetings from a non-fat American lol.

+Ausfahrt.tv very true...Commie Cali is a lot different than the east coast!
Would you buy the Corvette Stingray over the Mercedes A45 or Porsche Cayman GTS?

does the C7 (Euro version) have power folding mirrors option?
my favorite sport car ... thanx jan for reviewing it not sara ... JK :) good job
Master Yoda Haha. I so knew you were kidding ;) [Jan]

Eric Glueckert Corvette costs 70.000 Euros - dunno how much a 911 costs in the Netherlands? [Sarah]
It's December 2019, last year of C7. You can pick a fully loaded brand new Grand Sport for 55,000euros There is no better car for the money, period !
kommt auch eine deutsche version? :)

nice car, do not like the rims (wheels).
Ddyracer D Why not? (Jens)
Black wheels always look dirty to me and i like the silver shine of alloy wheels. Chrome is even better.
Ddyracer D Oh, you like chrome, okay - thats fine - i like white rims, but you know - the dirty style ;) (Jens)
