I use this as a regular desktop in all honesty and it doesn't fail me at all. have a external monitor paired with a wireless keyboard. If you have 8 or 16GB ram that would be icing on the cake

I just ordered an i7-2760qm ($50 ebay) to replace an i3-2350m. supposed to be 50% faster single core speed and 176% faster multi core speed according to userbenchmark dot com. it is 45w instead of 35w but will probably be just fine. will apply arctic silver :) . Hopefully the motherboard supports it.

wow, 5 years sounds awesome to me! Yeah, I have been checking out the new laptops with the 8th gen intel processors. Crazy battery life and processing power, and I've seen them as cheap as $400. Not sure if we will get a new one or not since this laptop just sits there most of the time plugged into the wall, and with fixing the keyboard and upgrading cpu I only have to put $75 in it :). you're welcome. exactly! this fujitsu is literally a workstation. sitting on my desk, it has been since 2013 hooked up to a 22" monitor going via vga. a Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and the laptop remains with the lid closed. sleek slim powerful ive had no issues with it. 16GB of ddr3 ram and a 240gb ssd this thing is never slow. Hi Chris, Honestly when this laptop was originally bought I immediately installed an i7 without even using the i3 cpu. I have the i3 cpu next to me by my desk and dont really have a comparison sorry. i7 is fine, paired with the SSD drive my boot time is really fast and runs like a desktop pc but really slim :) Thanks for stopping by DJ-elusion

Did you get the i7 off eBay? Also, did you update the BIOS prior to replacing the CPU? The i7 is the highest you can go with the socket in that laptop? Thanks

hi I recently upgraded to a 3632qm and it works fine. I see a few stalls but maybe its because windows 7 updates but overall its running ok. Don't worry about the comment size. I'm supposed to be done editing this video of the 5 year update but I'm really sick and having headaches is hard to sit in front of a pc doing editing. If you subscribe and stick around I will try to update and post more videos. as for the 3840qm if you can afford it. I was lucky enough to get the 3632qm.

I am facing a great problem with my Fujitsu Lifebook AH 532 with it's charging problem. I thought the battery is dead, then I tried dozens of batteries but while connect the AC adapter it shows plugged in but not charging. I met the experts and they said it was not battery problem, neither the adapter but most probably the charge controller in motherboard is not working. He suggest me to replace the motherboard or that he might try to fix the charge controller with a risk of 80% of failure. Now what should I do. Please help me... please

I see below that you also settled on the same processor for your own AH532. Can you please confirm if your motherboard shows as the "FJNBB1C" in CPU-Z or do you have a newer motherboard? It appears that the AH532s that Fujitsu shipped with the 3632QM have a newer motherboard, but the southbridge is the same. I'm just trying to confirm that the 3632QM will work on the FJNBB1C motherboard before I buy it. The BIOS version I have on here is version 1.11 dated 6/3/2019. Thanks!
Do you think the i7 3630QM will work on this one? I own a now dead NH532 and it's not worth to repair it (busted screen and some issues with the motherboard/bios not booting up properly) so I'm thinking of grabbing a AH532 for about 100 bucks and replace the current i3 as seen in your vid with my i7. Same chipset so it should work right? I have two copper leads in mine though, think that'll be an issue? I'll grab the fan + copper leads if it's possible / room enough.
hi, sorry for not responding to this much sooner, Technically YES the cpu mentioned above SHOULD work. If I had access and funds to buy a cpu to test its compatibility I would. If you can take pictures that would help me get a better understanding of the copper leads you are mentioning. I am not familiar with the NH532 as no customers have given me that laptop to work on. just make sure to match the wattage + socket size.

hi I looked at your pic and the heatpipe in your pic looks fine unless you have more pics and more close up shots you want me to look at?. this laptop that's in the video is stock and it shouldn't matter if the heatpipe has 2 or 1 pipe. This is how the laptop was stock.

Thanks for the video. Have you tried putting mSATA SSD into the mPCIe slot(you may find between WiFi card and Fan near the battery)? Any thoughts on this? I'm struggling to detect an SSD placed in that slot. There is no option in the boot menu also. Any input from you regarding this will be well appreciated.
Hi Krisnadas v k. I did not try putting a mSATA SSD, because the sata connections on the Motherboard support a standard laptop SSD Drive. This is not a thin form factor laptop such as the Lenovo X series line. I've had no issues with any hard drives installed on my laptop as the default bios menu was never modified or changed.. I find that pretty odd if a standard SSD is not detected.
Thanks for the prompt reply Djelusion. There should not be any problem with ssd on normal hard disk slot. I just ordered an mSATA to SATA adapter. But it would be awesome if I could use ssd on mPCIe slot for OS loading and HD for data saving. In some models it works and some it may not. See the links .. HI djelusion, did you have to upgrade your BIOS before the CPU upgrade/install? Mine is v1.07 dated 4/03/2012 and I see Fujitsu has a newer one 1.1.1.0 dated 10/22/2013. I wonder if I should flash my BIOS before doing the upgrade?? Thanks for the help/info!
Hi David sorry for the late response. RUclips has done funny things with notifications. The Bios could not be updated because Fujitsu didn't release a newer one sadly till this day there's no bios updates. But im selling this laptop now equipped with 16GB ram and a 240GB solid state Drive.
I haven't ran into that issue sorry. That has to be the first time I am hearing about a consumer laptop bios password issue. Not sure if the clear settings would do much good. If there is a battery you would have to disassemble the whole laptop if im not mistaken. its been a few years since Ive opened the laptop. This video was taken in 2012
hi its been a while but if you go to the intel website and look up your existing processor try to find the i7 equivalent for that time period ie 2012. The newer i7s don't work I'm very sure.

hi csabi no worries, As far as fastest honestly its not that much of a boost from another decent i7. there is not much gain if you get an affordable i7. anything other than an i3 is a major improvement.
FYI google ds-LIFEBOOK-AH532.pdf and check the verified cpu list. There's a few, all Ivy Bridge or the older Sandy Bridge ones. The ebay prices for an used i7 quad is around 120 USD and most people are probably better off with a i5 for around 40 usd. But that depends on ones situation of course. Buying a non-validated cpu will be risky (socket G2, FPGA/FCPGA988) since the BIOS is probably not updated for these newer cpus.
I would base the existing cpu installed and note the key factors for any cpu upgrade would be the wattage / socket type. Checking intels list of the i3 will point you in the right direction as to what generation of cpu you want to use. using anything more current is silly and a waste of money. ive been doing cpu upgrades on laptops for over 8 years. Never had one not work despite whatever the manufacturer site says.
Hi Mattstone thanks for stopping by. Yes your laptop can be upgraded to an i7 3520 or an i5 3320. Switching the CPU does make a difference if you are on an i3 cpu. i7 helps. I am actually selling this laptop listed in the video

I don't play video games however this might not be the laptop for you, if this is graphics intensive maybe a slightly newer i7 cpu but I cannot guarantee its game a bility.
Yo men! Do you know that your comp have slot for 3G? It is wright under the battery. You need to remove the sticker from the slot, BUT(!) you need to buy the 3G modem and install the driver for it. So, lucky to you.
The i3-2350m- has 2 cores / 4 threads and that set i7-2620m has 2 cores / 4 threads. After installing i5 / i7, processors download the necessary drivers themselves from the Internet. Better to put the i5-2540m - it is the same as this i7, but much cheaper.

It would work but the power usage is more so it might or might not work in the end.. If it does work it might overheat or run a lot hotter than normal and cause failure down the road.. If the bios is super picky you might not be able to run it because of the wattage is more than the initial chip.

Hi Gaby, as a rule of thumb in upgrading my laptops without any issues is to always match the wattage. By going higher you will run the risk of your system a) not working b) working but random shut downs c) thermal issues that will shorten the life of your pc / laptop. As far as cpu upgrades are concerned if you had an i3 going to an i7 would be a noticeable jump. however an i5 to i7 not so much so. if you can get more cores and cache with the same wattage you will be winning =). Hope that helped.

super-puper . спасибо за развернутый ответ. а разница в производительности сильно заметна между старым В960 и новым intel core i3-3110m (2.4 ггц)? просто сейчас у нас в стране цены бешеные и вряд ли буду покупать ай5 проц. хотелось бы наверняка знать есть ли резон менять тоже на ай3. по поводу видеокарты, ты не пробовал разгонять ее? я устанавливал некоторые программы для разгона видеокарт и там показывалось что мощность видеокарты существенно ограничена от возможностей. но после повышения частоты через них был только синий экран. слышал еще что только через биос нужно разгонять видеокарты.

For AH532 users. I'm at 1.10 bios. Fujitsu has some 2.x bios files. But they don't allow updating from 1.x to 2.x. Anyone know why?

I did this upgrade. But during boot, I have lots of issues. Crashes and auto reboots. Put back to i3 and it's fine. I'm stumped.

im thinking of buying this with i3, how is the heat with that i7 in there? is it quiet and cool? or loud and hot?
Do you think the i7 3630QM will work on this one? I own a now dead NH532 and it's not worth to repair it (busted screen and some issues with the motherboard/bios not booting up properly) so I'm thinking of grabbing a AH532 for about 100 bucks and replace the current i3 as seen in your vid with my i7. Same chipset so it should work right? I have two copper leads in mine though, think that'll be an issue? I'll grab the fan + copper leads if it's possible / room enough.
hi, sorry for not responding to this much sooner, Technically YES the cpu mentioned above SHOULD work. If I had access and funds to buy a cpu to test its compatibility I would. If you can take pictures that would help me get a better understanding of the copper leads you are mentioning. I am not familiar with the NH532 as no customers have given me that laptop to work on. just make sure to match the wattage + socket size.

Regarding the copper leads, in your vid you can see just one at 4:17 whilst my busted NH532 with the i7 has two of them, wondering if just one will be enough to lead the heat away. hi I looked at your pic and the heatpipe in your pic looks fine unless you have more pics and more close up shots you want me to look at?. this laptop that's in the video is stock and it shouldn't matter if the heatpipe has 2 or 1 pipe. This is how the laptop was stock.

You can use the RAM and HDD, but the Intel processor will not work with an AMD motherboard.

Hi sorry for the late reply. Sawmé Sami . No heating issues no issues with the battery as its always plugged in and I used it as my main workstation.
Sawmé Sami I have not tried to overclock my laptop. It runs faster I have not used my i3 cpu it was swapped out before I could use the cpu.

Thanks for the video. Have you tried putting mSATA SSD into the mPCIe slot(you may find between WiFi card and Fan near the battery)? Any thoughts on this? I'm struggling to detect an SSD placed in that slot. There is no option in the boot menu also. Any input from you regarding this will be well appreciated.
Hi Krisnadas v k. I did not try putting a mSATA SSD, because the sata connections on the Motherboard support a standard laptop SSD Drive. This is not a thin form factor laptop such as the Lenovo X series line. I've had no issues with any hard drives installed on my laptop as the default bios menu was never modified or changed.. I find that pretty odd if a standard SSD is not detected.
Thanks for the prompt reply Djelusion. There should not be any problem with ssd on normal hard disk slot. I just ordered an mSATA to SATA adapter. But it would be awesome if I could use ssd on mPCIe slot for OS loading and HD for data saving. In some models it works and some it may not. See the links ..

HI djelusion, did you have to upgrade your BIOS before the CPU upgrade/install? Mine is v1.07 dated 4/03/2012 and I see Fujitsu has a newer one 1.1.1.0 dated 10/22/2013. I wonder if I should flash my BIOS before doing the upgrade?? Thanks for the help/info!
Hi David sorry for the late response. RUclips has done funny things with notifications. The Bios could not be updated because Fujitsu didn't release a newer one sadly till this day there's no bios updates. But im selling this laptop now equipped with 16GB ram and a 240GB solid state Drive.

I haven't ran into that issue sorry. That has to be the first time I am hearing about a consumer laptop bios password issue. Not sure if the clear settings would do much good. If there is a battery you would have to disassemble the whole laptop if im not mistaken. its been a few years since Ive opened the laptop. This video was taken in 2012

hi its been a while but if you go to the intel website and look up your existing processor try to find the i7 equivalent for that time period ie 2012. The newer i7s don't work I'm very sure.

hi csabi no worries, As far as fastest honestly its not that much of a boost from another decent i7. there is not much gain if you get an affordable i7. anything other than an i3 is a major improvement.
FYI google ds-LIFEBOOK-AH532.pdf and check the verified cpu list. There's a few, all Ivy Bridge or the older Sandy Bridge ones. The ebay prices for an used i7 quad is around 120 USD and most people are probably better off with a i5 for around 40 usd. But that depends on ones situation of course. Buying a non-validated cpu will be risky (socket G2, FPGA/FCPGA988) since the BIOS is probably not updated for these newer cpus.
I would base the existing cpu installed and note the key factors for any cpu upgrade would be the wattage / socket type. Checking intels list of the i3 will point you in the right direction as to what generation of cpu you want to use. using anything more current is silly and a waste of money. ive been doing cpu upgrades on laptops for over 8 years. Never had one not work despite whatever the manufacturer site says.

Hi Mattstone thanks for stopping by. Yes your laptop can be upgraded to an i7 3520 or an i5 3320. Switching the CPU does make a difference if you are on an i3 cpu. i7 helps. I am actually selling this laptop listed in the video

Yo men! Do you know that your comp have slot for 3G? It is wright under the battery. You need to remove the sticker from the slot, BUT(!) you need to buy the 3G modem and install the driver for it. So, lucky to you.

The i3-2350m- has 2 cores / 4 threads and that set i7-2620m has 2 cores / 4 threads. After installing i5 / i7, processors download the necessary drivers themselves from the Internet. Better to put the i5-2540m - it is the same as this i7, but much cheaper.

It would work but the power usage is more so it might or might not work in the end.. If it does work it might overheat or run a lot hotter than normal and cause failure down the road.. If the bios is super picky you might not be able to run it because of the wattage is more than the initial chip.

Hi Gaby, as a rule of thumb in upgrading my laptops without any issues is to always match the wattage. By going higher you will run the risk of your system a) not working b) working but random shut downs c) thermal issues that will shorten the life of your pc / laptop. As far as cpu upgrades are concerned if you had an i3 going to an i7 would be a noticeable jump. however an i5 to i7 not so much so. if you can get more cores and cache with the same wattage you will be winning =). Hope that helped.

Sergei Kozhuhпрювет!значит росклад такой: в наши ноуты запихнули пентиумы да к тому же с тех.процесом санди бридж-при том что материнка и чипсет и биос ноута предназначены для ай кор 3, ай кор 5, и ай кор 7 ИВИ БРИДЖ!!!(22нм).то есть можно поставить любой ай кор 2-го(САНДИ БРИДЖ) или третьего поколения (ИВИ БРИДЖ) с tdp-35 Watt.четирёх ядерные процессоры тоже можно ставить но с тепловым пакетом 35 ватт!Хотя на сайте Интела в характеристиках на чипсет ноута HM 76 указаны процессоры и с tdp-45 Watt.сейчас у меня стоит ай кор третьего поколения intel core i3-3110m (2.4 ггц). 960м пентиум продал))) и ай кор intel core i3-2350m (2.3ггц) который поставил после пентиума-тоже продал.что бы почистить пыль или заменить процессор и добавить оперативки нужно снять нижнюю крышку-самая большая крышка на днище.оперативки я добавил ещё 4 гига нашёл такую же планку идентичную той что в ноуте(Самсунг).термопаста меняется так как на видео-только у нашего ноута на трубке охлаждения висит два радиатора-один для процессора а другой для видеокарты.видеокарта не меняется-она не сьёмная а запаянная.у меня разрядность видяхи 128 бит(ПОВЕЗЛО)-тянет капитально.под конец 2013 года стали пихать видяхи с таким же названием (нвидиа 620м) но с меньшей пропускной способностью- 64 бита более слабые карты.вотоценки производительности ноутбука:процессор-6.9 ,оперативка-7.4 ,производительность виндоус аэро-6.7 ,трёхмерная графика для игр-6.7 ,жёсткий диск-5.4 (винт настроен на энергосберигающий режим).вот так вот. мало того что пентиум засунули в такой мощный ноут так ещё и устаревший санди бридж 32 нанометра котрый пихали в старые модели ноутов(в AH 531 и в A 512) .За то я не слабо с экономил-купил мощный ноут с дешёвым пентиумом а потом купил по дешёвке мощный процессор мало б/у. +продал свой пентиум b960m и core i3-2350m (2.3ггц) и отбил деньги которые потратил на intel core i3-3110m (2.4ггц).
super-puper . спасибо за развернутый ответ. а разница в производительности сильно заметна между старым В960 и новым intel core i3-3110m (2.4 ггц)? просто сейчас у нас в стране цены бешеные и вряд ли буду покупать ай5 проц. хотелось бы наверняка знать есть ли резон менять тоже на ай3. по поводу видеокарты, ты не пробовал разгонять ее? я устанавливал некоторые программы для разгона видеокарт и там показывалось что мощность видеокарты существенно ограничена от возможностей. но после повышения частоты через них был только синий экран. слышал еще что только через биос нужно разгонять видеокарты.
super-puper упустил еще 1 важный момент спросить. после смены проца была ли необходимость менять что-то в биосе? или же поменял и сразу пользуйся?
