    I have read some of the other comments and I simply disagree. Without you and your amazing family those puppies would have probably never had such a great quality of life and would have very likely died. It was plain to see that your children were simply matching the energy of the puppies and each of them did a great job at caring for them. They are all seem so compassionate and caring with animals as I have seen in previous videos and they all seem like amazing kids. Those puppies were lucky to have such a great family to care for them when they needed it most.❤️

    I love Tally's hairstyle. Thanks for instilling a sense of humanitarianism and love for the animals. Here in Uganda, puppies are seen as a burden and thrown away in bushes to die. Most people prefer male dogs for that matter. I remember when I was still young, I would pause to listen to their cries, sometimes I would get them out of the flooded ditches to a more safe place. But deep down I knew their fate, to die: if not from hunger, from a merciless beating from stubborn boys.

    • @TheLarters
      @TheLarters  3 месяца назад +12

      Oh exactly. It's so sad that abusing animals is actually just the norm here. It's pretty standard to beat an animal that's being a nuisance etc. It's amazing you tried to help - because I feel like sometimes people are ridiculed for doing things like that because it's not the done thing. Just so many that need help, we take on so very few compared to how many there are! It is so important to us that the children learn to love and help animals too - and we know that at least our kids and all the children at CEDA are now all animals lovers ❤

    I have trained dogs for over 20 years. These puppies are learning to be resilient and it will serve them well in their adult lives. They are being treated brilliantly by the children.
    So disappointed to see the “experts” criticising the care of these happy healthy puppies who without Emilie, would have long since died of starvation.
    No doubt the critics have neither raised abandoned street puppies, nor contributed to the care financially.
    Humans never fail to disappoint. Thank heavens for Emilie and her family for helping these four puppy souls,

    • @TheLarters

      Thank you ❤ I think a lot of people forget we aren't in the UK, these dogs won't be mollycoddled for the rest of their lives. A bit of noise, but a lot of love - these puppies could certainly do worse!

      @@TheLarters even if in the U.K these puppies have had a fantastic busy home during their critical socialisation period. They will become friendly and confident adult dogs, thanks to the care you have given them. I am dumbfounded by the criticism. As some one who has worked with dogs for decades and rescued many thousands, I can opine from an educated point of view.
      I have witnessed endless cruelty and neglect over the years towards dogs, cats, horses and donkeys. So much cruelty needs addressing. These happy puppies ain’t it.

    This one of my favorite videos! The challenge of the kids taking care of the puppies was so funny; especially the feeding ! I laughed so hard at the puppies trying to eat out of the other puppies' bowl and then the spilling of the puppy chow from the bowls all over the floor. It was great seeing the different personalities of each puppy, Bruno, Gus, Prince and Ella! It was pure chaos and so much fun to watch!!

    You are such a fun mom! I love that you empowered Adam by running with his creative idea. • @TheLarters
      @TheLarters  3 месяца назад

      Oh we loved watching it back, on the most part the kids were so good and patient but there was a few 'I hate my puppy' moments too. Feel like it was a good learning experience for all involved 😂 - and we agree! We could tell the children to be calmer with the puppies as they are older and can listen, but a 1 or 2 year old cannot. This way of raising them turns them into resilient dogs, patient with ALL children ❤

Sadly many we rehomed didn't fare well in their new settings and few are still with us today. Huge shame because we are sure pups like this would be snapped up in an instant in the UK!

    While this is lovely that you are caring for these dogs, I do also feel like it’s important to set limits on your empathy. You spoke about this in one of your videos that you were feeling so stressed and your hair was falling out and you were not eating properly because of everything that was going on with your family. I do think that to then take on these puppies is just adding to that stress when you could probably set a limit instead of spreading yourself even more thin. Also it kind of upset me that they were not taught how to hold the dogs properly and how much noise and chaos they created while the puppies were eating. I think to eat with all that shouting and banging on the floor would be stressful conditions for anyone to eat under. I don’t know, just seeing how the dogs were just constantly around such chaotic energy was actually kind of upsetting for me.

      The dogs weren’t distressed… and I actually disagree here. We’ve raised very many dogs now, over 20. Noise and chaos makes the puppies grow into patient, resilient dogs. We encourage touching the dogs when eating etc as puppies, so that they are not aggressive over food as adults. And if you watched carefully, I corrected the children several times on how they should hold them, not pull on legs, and not get their eyes and ears wet when bathing…
      We do set limits, we would be taking in dogs daily if we didn’t... You’ll find, even years after, Josh and I feel guilt over those we walked on by. We’ve lost sleep at night over children we knew needed help, which is how we ended up with CEDA in the first place. We have chosen to live a life for others where we may sacrifice things and struggle ourselves sometimes, but we wouldn’t want to live any other way ❤️

      Guys you need to realise Uganda is not England. Everything there is tough and these puppies will have to be tough to. Motor bikes, noise, you see from their videos how busy and manic it is. No quiet countryside, or parks there. Emily is out there doing an amazing job saving children, dogs if you can do a better job go and give it a go.

      The puppies were not in any discomfort or pain at all, I did explain to make sure no legs were pulled. The kids weren't picking them up as most do here (by scruff of neck) or holding them upside down or anything atrocious... Even if we adults were trying to get the puppies to stay in one place we'd have to grab them in a similar manner.

    Absolutely adore your loving family and your channel but I’m so sorry but this video really upsets me. I have been a professional guide dog trainer for over 35 years. Squeals of delight, tantrums and boisterous play can be an exciting or a frightening experience for puppies and dogs. You’ll need to show your children exactly how you want them to interact with your puppies before filming this challenge (not as you go) by encouraging gentle interaction at all times. Even if your puppies appear to be ‘fine’ with more hands on contact, never assume that they are enjoying it or will always be so tolerant. Many puppies and dogs will put up with a great deal before showing any obvious behaviours that they are uncomfortable and it’s just not fair or responsible to expect them to cope with boisterous or rough handling like we see in this video. Even if your puppy or dog appears to be extremely laid back, think about how another dog your child meets might behave in a similar situation. Teaching your beautiful children how to behave sensibly and considerately with your puppies or dogs will serve them well when they meet their friends’ dogs or a dog out on the street by keeping them as safe as they can be. Please take these words with loving concern as that is what is meant, it is not a personal attack. I will follow the link to donate for the pups go fund me as I would like to help out supplying with dog food for these precious puppies. x

      I really appreciate how you have worded this comment and your concern. The children have been raised surrounding by countless animals - dogs, cats, goats, chickens... they are very attuned to the animals too. The reason they felt able to be considerably louder and rougher with these puppies is because these puppies are also extremely rough themselves. They would never dream of treating a strange, adult dog like this, nor were they like this with the puppies when they were smaller. We've raised over 20 dogs now from puppies, and some of them have turned into the most resilient, amazing dogs and we truly believe being surrounding by so much noise and chaos (but always so much love) has contributed to this. These are truly some of the happiest puppies I've seen in Uganda - so we must be doing something right. Even the cats we've raised - when I compare them to cats we've had in the UK it's as if they are an entirely different species. We all raise our pets differently - just as we all raise our children differently ❤

      The puppies have been with us for several weeks. This was not their first time interacting with them. The puppies have got a lot tougher themselves and love rough play. I’ve answered lots of comments about this already, but you’ll find the way the kids were behaving with them is far softer than what they’ll experience throughout their lives in Uganda ❤️

      @@Queenof-ou2rb I think you need to watch again. The puppies weren't carried by their legs, and I did correct the children when they grabbed them by their legs to stop them running off. I don't think you realise how strong and robust (and heavy) these puppies are, even us adults struggle with them as they wiggle out of our grasp - simply because they are so, so active and just want to run about and play, not sit still. I can assure you - we've had plenty of dogs- and the children have helped us raise very many. The puppies were not harmed in any way and in fact, had a great time coming out their pen and playing with their favourite people - the children ❤

      They didn’t hurt the dogs at all… did the dogs look scared, unhappy? I explained to them not to pull their legs or anything that may harm them. The puppies are very happy, confident, healthy puppies and they LOVE the kids. They rough play all the time themselves, squealing as the others sink their teeth into them. We’ve had many dogs now, all so resilient from growing up around the kids. Our cats too - they have all been amazing and no loud noise or rough handling bothers them. Truly think being like this when they are young helps them grow into great, happy pets when older ❤️
