John Denver singing Rocky Mountain High, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Calypso, Back Home Again, Annie’s Song, Thank God I’m a Country Boy, The Marvellous Toy.
"Sunshine on My Shoulders" is one not to forget
Oh yes
It was a world-wide hit. John did not need a flashy stage show. He often played his show with only a guitar and a piano. He would sing for two to three hours with only short breaks.
i like that way just about the music
John Denver is an icon to me. His voice is so calming. He always makes me happy.
The most beautiful song ever made Annie's song!
My sister and I way back in the day.. little girls.. would sing Annie's Song washing and drying dishes..
My dad bought this for my mam when it first came out many moons ago she love it. We played it at her funeral in 2020 she was 92.
His songs make you feel peaceful inside.
Greatings from South Africa. John Denver released Grandma’s Feather Bed the year I was born… love his songs, but this one is just the best trip down memory lane.
Enjoy your show…
thank you
We jumped around on the bed to that song!!!
My childhood was filled with John Denver, and not just because my dad listened to him. He was a staple when it came to The Muppets which was on tv in my house whenever they aired. A lot of the mini tv shows had him. He was the gentle mentor that helped them and took care of them, and that's how he'll always be seen in my head.
John is an icon in the music business - such a huge catalog of hit records! He wrote all his own music. In addition he was a great person - a humanitarian & environmentalist, years before it was fashionable. Any of his songs are worth listening to, Annies Song, For You, Rocky Mountain High, Calypso, & Thank God I'm A Country Boy are just a few other notable songs of his.
JOHN DENVER SOOTHES MY SOUL!
My grandpa sang this to my sister and I when we were little and I still listen to this ❤
P. S. He did wear glasses but later wore contacts.
Amazing artist. Who makes fun of incredible artists regardless if the genre is not there thing? Appreciate great music no matter who the artist is.
i agree
There is NOTHING better than a country road with the windows down and country music blaring on the radio :)
He was also in a movie or two. He did “Oh God” with George burns.
Good film.
A great story about this concert. John was filming it January and is was cold and rainy day/ John took a break and went outside and was astonished to find a line forming to buy tickets tohis concert They were singing this song. He was a real genuine person and love for all people and nature. John has over 200 songs that he wrote.
Killed in a plane accident. RIP John Denver in your Rocky Mountain High! 😢
R.I.P
Jon Denver did wea gasses. Calypso, Rocky Mountain High,
This is my favourite song ever. I used to listen to it in the car with my mum. I lost her in 88 at 36 years old. I was 10 years old. She was big into country music. Listening to country, especially this makes me feel closer to her x UK
John Denver did wear glasses.
Treat yourself to more of his music. I never heard one of songs I didn't like. Try his song "Annie's Song".
will do
John Denver - the balladere of my generation! You need to hear his entire library! ❤
John and Mac Davis were amazing! And Mac Davis wrote many songs you've already loved - like In The Ghetto. I saw Mac live in concert and he was so Down to earth friendly after the show! Amazing talent.
It is played after all West Virginia University sports' victories. When the new Mountaineer football field opened and was dedicated on September 6, 1980, WV US Senator, Jay Rockefellow, had Denver come to the stadium and sing that song at midfield.. John was amazed that he had 60,000 folks in the stands singing along with him..... If you are a West Virginia University fan, or just have ties to West Virginia, you love that song!
Sir
first of all greets from Germany 😊😊
You might not know, when the NFL did their first ever game in germany 60.000 joined in this song. It was amazing 😁😁👍👍
❤❤❤
I remember when I was young hearing the news of the plane crash that killed John Denver. I am still sad when I think about it. Such a loss.
He did wear glasses when he was younger. I think as he got older he bumped his look with either contacts or lasik perhaps.. The wildlife concert was good, but I actually enjoyed his original cut of that song. He had one of the highest purest tenors I had ever heard to that time. Crisp vocal acrobatics.. (it's called yodelling a lot). He was another of those LIFE singer songwriters..
I think John had 10 gold albums and 8 platinum albums. ❤
wow
He does wear glasses. But sometimes he is wearing contacts.
I cry every.damn.time. Great reaction
West Virginia here! There’s a short clip somewhere of a whole crowd of German nfl fans singing this for some reason. As a wv born it is a requirement that if you are born here that you know this song lol.
Check out John Denver the Wings that Fly me home. Its beautiful ballad and ironically he died in a small plane crash. He was a Conservationist. Love your reactions🌠
I love John! I think you should listen to a couple of his other songs like I'm Sorry and Like a Sad Song. So touching and beautiful!
John Denver did wear glasses when he was younger right now.He wears contacts.
Gotta check out Rocky Mountain High!! We moved from NY to Colorado because of it..and Him! ❤
Soccer/football fan groups regularly parody popular songs with their chants. Vancouver Whitecaps matches begin with this chant, "Boundary Road, Take me home, To the place where I belong. Vancouver, pretty mama, Take me home, Boundary road."
The Whitecaps used to play at a stadium on Boundary Road.
Great reaction. He made not have put on a show in terms of doing backflips, but if you notice, he had everybody in that place just totally engaged and participating. How often do you see that nowadays?
I mean you see it in terms of people reacting kind of while they stare at their phones and record stuff, and believe me I'm guilty of it myself.
But this is so different; people are singing and clapping and stomping and getting up out of their chairs in some cases in a setting where that's not the norm exactly, and to have that kind of live audience engagement without much technology behind - it that's really pretty amazing.
I could tell by your reaction you are really feeling it and I think that's awesome. And yes he did wear glasses sometimes, I was lucky enough to see him in junior high at a Boy Scout camp in Colorado where he was the surprise guest at the end of two weeks of a kind of a grueling summer camp there up in the mountains.
But he was his own pilot and he flew himself in and they sprung him on us around the bonfire.
I still remember the fire light glinting off his glasses while he played and sang and encouraged us to sing along, which yes he often wore glasses, kind of around specs like John Lennon or something, but it worked for him and it was so magical and he was so cool and down-to-earth and we were overjoyed.
We used to run around on the playground in grade school singing Thank God I'm a Country Boy, and, Grandma's Feather Bed, and of course Country Roads. A particularly loved the bridge of that song.
That was a sing-along for years if not decades later, just randomly in the public space. You could even be on a subway or something and if somebody would start humming that or if it came on the speakers or something, people would just spontaneously start singing along and have this moment of connection together. I think it's fantastic.
Rest in peace to him, man, he died early, just an aviation accident in his light plane one day trying to go over some mountains in some fog.
John Denver is a fantastic singer and song writer. He had loads of great songs and sounded better live than he does on the studio versions. He was an environmentalist before most people knew what that meant. If you like a love song most people would say 'Annie's' song which he wrote in approximately 10 mintues on a ski lift after an argument with his wife but I would suggest 'For You' from his Wildlife Concert' He died far too young and the world lost one of the greatest song writers.
Great reaction 😊
❤❤❤😊😊 I love your reactions.
Try his "Rocky Mountain High" and "Annie's Song", for one of the greatest love songs ever written.
2022 NFL game in Germany and the whole stadium sings along to Country Roads
John Denver was the best thing ever in my early days! (I should get back to his stuff, always made me feel better)
He was such a genius. I know you've heard his music. Just didn't know it was his. "Eagle and the Hawk." short and sweet but I bet you never heard that one. It's amazing!
Thanks. So glad you loved it.
Eagles and Horses!
Nice reaction, Blessings to you and yours from West Virginia 🤠
Love JD!

You won't regret it!
You should check out “Thank god I’m a country boy” a very upbeat song
Oh CV; this is a great way to start a Monday!
I fell in love with this song as a little girl; I drove my mother crazy because I'd go around the house singing it, she'd get tired and send me outside 😠 Didn't stop me from listening or singing! 😂👍❤
I think everyone sings along with this song is on Lisa and i Love it
@@CVTECK1 Me too; made my day~🌞
Try his tribute to Jacque Courtesy in Calypso or EAGLES & HORSES
I believe he used to need glasses then perhaps he got lasik. I think this because I saw him on TV more recently. He had glasses but from certain angles you could see that the lenses were just plain glass. He wore them because people expected to see John Denver wearing glasses. This is just a theory.
Thank God Im a country boy
Thank God, I,m a country boy, Calypso, Annie’s song ….. and go on.
Ok these are not going to get a lot of votes But THIS OLD GUITAR , and TRAIL OF TEARS I think are a must.. Another person you most probably don't know is South African Roger Whittaker The Good Old E A R and H (fun song)and The Streets Of London would be good He was around at the same time as John and Dolly

John Denver couldn’t make a bad song.
Please do more John Denver songs -- he was the best and died way too young.
Good by again.
I see all these comments..why no likes?.. I love it.
I'll give you a like lol
I wonder what the actual number of people who have sung this somewhere along their journey home just substituting their home town in the song.
"I'm sorry" and a song I just discovered recently "Looking for space"
Annie’s song, Calypso, Perhaps love (with Pavarotti), and many more.❤
"Perhaps Love" was with Placido Domingo! But great song!
If you didn't already like or respect John Denver, you should check out the video where he, Frank Zappa and Dee Snider testified before congress in regards to censorship.
The PMRC was wanting studios to censor artists that they thought were objectionable (this was around the start of gangster rap where artists like Public Enemy, NWA, and 2 Live Crew were starting).
You will learn a new respect from him after that.
Edit: In effect he is partially responsible for the "Parental advisory" label you now see on albums, rather than them being censored.
no thats him he does wear glasses
ohhhh why is he not wearing them on this
He later started wearing contacts.
CV, the other commenters gave you some great suggestions, but I would like to go off the beaten path. If you liked "Coat of many Colors" you might appreciate a Denver song called "Grandma's Featherbed". Also, his real name is Deefendorfer, and he did a great bit I heard once about changing his name. Obviously, Denver would sell more records...Oh, and if it makes you feel better, the Bee Gees and John Farnham are from Australia.
His name was Dutchendorf.
wait wait wait Eric Bee Gees is not from the UK wait a second here i'm looking it up lol. I love John Farnham
They say the memory for last names is the first thing to go...thanks for the correction!@@phyl1042
@@CVTECK1the BeeGees were born in UK but moved to Australia when they were small
Have you reacted to any of Tools' music before (I only just recently discovered your channel from over here in Australia).. Tool have been my favourite favourite band for 32 years, They're music is unlike any other and is very cerebral.. They use a lot of polyrhytms in their music and are known for their odd time signatures, which can be a little hard for first time listeners to get used to.. I recommend their song 'The Pot' to react to first, then 'Lateralus' which is based on the Fibonacci Sequence (maybe do some quick research as to how they incorporate the sequence into the song) then possibly 'Forty Six & 2'..
The *'Tool Army* will 100% show up for this! 🔧🎶 🌀🖤 I'm sure some Tool Reactions will definitely grow your channel and boost your subscribers..
Cheers,
Rhi ❤
I commented on one of your Elvis reactions.. check out Brooks and Dunn... I Believe.
will do thanks
How about checking out some Scrumpy and Western? I recommend "Drink Up Thy Zider"
will do
@@CVTECK1 Bit of background info: the name of the genre is a play on "country and western" and "scrumpy" is a type of cheap, strong cider. I'm actually drinking a brand called "Scrumpy Jack" rn
How any American can make fun of John Denver is beyond comprehension
Annies Song
While this is a fun song, it's not his best. It's very popular, though. You need Annie's Song, Yellowstone, The Eagle and the Hawk, Calypso, Eagles and Horses, and SO. MANY. MORE.
In their defense, busting your chops about being an age, and not having heard.... you totally do NOT sound like you haven't spent your whole life somewhere very midwest.
To be fair, you do not speak with an accent so I would never take you for anything but an American. However, I do understand that not everybody listens or even hears a lot of music from various genres. I also hope that you and your buddies were kids when you were making fun of the way John Denver looked.
