- tourcomedy.com/ In terms of Curb Your Enthusiasm, the episode was absolutely stellar. But as they said, this was not an episode of Seinfeld, it was an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Larry was right. If it's a favour, there's no tip. If it's an errand, then there's a tip.
Though favors are based on a friendship model and errands generally aren't. HAVING SAID THAT, Larry was indeed right!
Larry is always right :)
this favor was basically an errand.
Larry wouldn't have asked Joe to do it if he wasent going to the office, it was where he was already going. The coffee pick up is "the exact opposite" way as Larry put it
The fucker was going there... Larry wasn't going to Hollywood, so that's not a on-your-way/drive-by favor like Larry asked for. The nerve of people...
"could be acting with acting, having said that i think this is a terrific title " lol
Man that was brilliant how he set that up lmao
Yeah that's what he said
"I'll read it with dinner" such a subtle insult.
“Jason Alexander” certainly thought so
Doesn't it go, "I'll read it over dinner"?
The expression on Larry's face after he says "I'll read it with dinner".
+m1noz I would've said, "I'll read it the next time I'm taking a dump."
@@bink and thus completing the cycle of taking a book into the bathroom like "George" (Jason) did on Seinfeld.
"I'll read it with dinner." Cracking me up.
My favorite part is that he still calls him 'Mocha Joe' the entire time.
I actually agree with Larry here. Joe was going up to the studio anyway, so just dropping off the cable was no biggie. lol
It's not like Larry asked Joe to send the cables to W. Hollywood...
Agent1W exactly!
actually? I agree with Larry much more often than not 👍
Nah you cant give somebody a compliment then send em on a errand with no tip. Fuck a compliment lol, and Larry acted like he was bigger than Mocha Joe and more of a real one cuz he wouldnt even expect a tip, he would do an errand for Mocha Joe like its nothing, ok then go. Lol now he wanna go back in time and shyt lmao... I know people like that that expect too much from everybody and act like they bout that same life but when it come down to it its a whole diffrent story...
but it was an additonal task.
Maybe it's just me but I find myself agreeing with Larry more often than not.
Yeah I think kinda the point is that he's made out to be an asshole but unfairly so because everybody else expects too much.
Autotrope Exactly, he's a relatable and normal guy in a world full of mad people.
Having said that Mocha Joe was in the right on this one
Crumb Bum I do too, having said that I run into a ton of situations like this. People have their heads up their asses Larry is just the victim of other people's stupidity.
Caleb Gallegos no
I'm going to put Mocha Joe up there with Anton Chigurh, Eve Harrington, and Sauron as one of the most despicable on screen villains ever.
Larry is so rich, he should have just offered something.
He gets much worse in the new season
don't forget Newman
One coffee shop too rule them all
I love how Larry always calls him "Mocha Joe", rather than just "Joe".
Mocha Joe is the only person in the Curb universe more petty than Larry himself.
When the immovable petty meets the unstoppable petty
He's the super jew
Yeah he’s the type of person that would open a store strictly out of spite
Larry finally met his match 😂
I hate those types of people who expect a reward for doing a kind favor.
JakeSnakeAwesome97 I know right? I hate how it's becoming more and more common.
I called those types of people smug
So what you're saying is that you just want people to do you favors, but won'd do favors in return...
We are called narcissists
GOD That's why you use the D.E.N.N.I.S. system.
I'll read it with dinner.
and then the look George gave him.
Jason*
Right. The look he gave him was a classic Costanza look though.
Alexander*
Not at all. Jason Alexander is totally different from his character George. This scene was total George.
"I'll read it with dinner" this was subtle but it killed me 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was a regular Mocha Joe customer, but after seeing this he's never getting my business again. Having said that, you really should try his vanilla decaf latte if you're in the area.
Dan S. .....he uses his own special cream ......
One of those vanilla BS things
Having said that there is a difference between a favor and errand.
Harsh but fair I see.
Decaf.... What's the point?
At 1:04 Larry and Jerry once again make a great observation on trends in society and language. Having said that, I would argue that the thing you really mean usually comes AFTER the phrase, "having said that", not before as they do here.
Matthew Larson I think their conversation was pointless and banal having said that it brings up a lot of publicity for how colloquialism can ruin language
This is the most genius comment in the history of RUclips. Well done, sir!
Matthew Larson i really need them to write more seinfeld episodes like this society needs it
I think you literally have a point. It is what it is
genius
The lack of thickness of that book is ingeniously hilarious.
I'll read it with dinner- hilarious
Larry and Jerry chemistry is great!
They should create a show together!
Jasons face when Larry says, ill read it with dinner. 😂❤
It's the little blink that gets me
this video was awful. having said that, it was pretty great
ehhhhhhhh that was a tip nobody asked for your tip on the video, ok?
Big Smoke i don't think you understand what a tip is. having said that, you seem like a very intelligent guy
Dan M awe thanks xD your a prrrreetttyyyyy prettttyyyyyy smart guy yourself
Dan M That 'having said that' was pretty broad and contrary. Having said that, I'm not unhappy with your comment.
+Joe Brokenstrang Having been said, what you just said was well worth having said. Having said that, I'm happy to say what has been said.
Jerry "raising your kids without raising them" Lol so Jerry!
Curb your enthusiasm is Seinfeld on steroids lol
And It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is Seinfeld on crack.
Seinfeld with F-bombs
I hate Seinfeld. Curb is 🥇 tho
No comparison. You realize how lame Seinfeld is compared to LD in these appearances.
I'll read it with dinner LMAO! I laugh every time I see that lol
The world's only comedy that makes you laugh and enraged
That look on Jason's face when Larry owns him, amazing, lol
The real hilariousness is the constant “Mocha Joe” calling.......too funny 😂 😂😂
Jerry needs to be a regular, his chemistry with Larry is off the charts...
Yeah it's really good to watch.
Not really
It’s REALLY good. Even better than Leon.
doubt jerry is interested in having it be that regular
There's a big difference in driving out of your way than walking to the place your going anyway...
The chemistry between Jerry and Larry is remarkable to watch.
Mocha Joe is very petty. A favor is defined as an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual. If you're always expecting some sort of payment, well, then you simply aren't very good person. Mocha Joe could have just simply said no, but he did not and chose to be spiteful and hang it over our good friend Larry's head. Unacceptable Mocha Joe. Unacceptable.
Cause he's a fuckin dago
Its cause he runs a coffee stand and larry is a billionaire
Franz Isley If Mocha Joe was worth $450 million, he'd have $450 million. But he's not, so he doesn't. And he wants to be a pussy cause "life's not fair"
Stop being so defensive im just saying whats worth pennies to larry would be a big deal to a coffee guy, so its understandable why he was annoyed
Why should a billionaire have a poor dude be his servant?
When you tip someone, you demean them because you are treating them like an underling.
Having said that, getting a tip is always nice.
George is so bullied by those two:(
George deserves it the smuck bald fuck.
Joe was in bad boys!
Chocolate Dinosaur eat shit!
Art Vandelay so jealous of your name
Jason...
I love the chemistry between Larry and Seinfeld. In CICGC it was the same. Must be awesome to be with them when they’re talking.
2020: Mocha Joe is going down. Latte Larry’s with the heated cup, and the discovery of the coffee beans. It’s over for Mocha Joe. RIP.
@diamond dogs That damn Funkhouser
That bit from about 2:06 to 2:22 is absolutely brilliant. What a great Custard Pie by Larry. Almost mugged him off better than Jerry's "having said that" remark.
Larry David is the man.
The look George gives Larry when he says "I'll read it with dinner."
i hate when people are only nice and helpful when they expect money in return, even with people they know. having said that, you should use every opportunity you can to squeeze some cash out of these rich holywood pricks.
Mocha Joe! You were on your way to where the cables were going! Lol west hollywood? Lmao love this show.
Dude, mocha Joe’s request is actually pretty insane. Driving across town and picking up coffee is equivalent to taking some cables to a person you were going to see anyway?
having said that I think this is a terrific title...the genius of that is worth more laughs than two broker girls could muster up by seeling there bodies to humor "gods"
Some of you may know this. Mocha Joe was “Bob” in “Becker” who tends to refer to himself as a third person.
Bob: Bob is upset. Bob didn’t get a tip.
LOL the "having said that" bit is so good!!
It seems Larry David is only one with common sense on the show
חולנובלה
Ha! His HBO series was funny at first but sometimes LD goes way way off to get a laugh... curb had its moments on its first run, HBO.
i like how jerry gets larry to really crack up... it's nice to see him just laugh naturally on the show. live stuff like that makes the show good.
I like how Jerry and Jason act exactly like their characters on Seinfeld lol.
? Jason is the opposite. He comes off as a big douche in every episode he's in and I hope that's not just him improvising and its a character he's created.
Something about the way Larry keeps saying "Mocha Joe" when he's talking to him is hilarious.
If he just kept the damn business card he wouldn’t have to get beans from Mexico...
"No going back in time Larry".
Haha, I love how serious he is when he says that.
I mean mocha joe was going to that location either way. Its not like he had to go out of his way to drop off the jumper cables. I agree with larry on this
Jerry brings heat to this scene.....I love the jibe he makes to Jason Alexander "you could just call it acting with acting.....having said that"..........pure class
Latte Larry's > Mocha Joe's
Chris Latte Larry’s coffee will actually burn your nose whereas Mocha joes doesn’t even come close to burning your nose
Watching this after latte Larry's episode..... This is hilarious!
I wouldn't put the blue ad at th top. Having said that i think its a good idea
ads are bad
His reaction when he said " I'll read it at dinner" lol
Mocha Joe sounds like a young Michael Corleone
4:18-4:25 was almost comedy gold! If only he'd said after "I'll pick up your beans" something like "But I was trying to be nice when I met you, I really was. But then you pissed me off, now I'm going to kick your ass"
The sky is red during the day.
*Having said that* , I have to admit that the sky is actually blue during the day, especially during noontime....
....unless it's a cloudy day.
Larry "I ll read it with dinner"
George expression , what am I gonna make out of that , did he just compliment me/my book or did he insult 🤔🤣!?!
"Having said that" really is the equivalent of "no offense, but.."
I agree with Larry, a favor implies no tip, it’s a kind gesture
To be fair, joe was already going to the office so it was no burden to him to take some jumper cables to the office.
Now, asking Larry to go out of his way for some coffee beans, is a burden. Joe is a prick, as mentioned by another commenter
YOU DO NOT DESERVE A TIP FOR A FAVOUR A FAVOUR IS OUT OF THE GOODNESS OF YOUR HEART. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DO THE FAVOUR IF YOU DONT WANT TO, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TIP FOR A FAVOUR IF YOU DONT WANT TO
I've never watched this show but I've seen a few clips like this and everyone in Larry's life just seems to be hypersensitive. Larry is totally right.
I love the way how Larry and Jerry group along to mock and belittle Jason
I didn't really think the new season was that great. Having said that, I love the show.
Larry always gets it right, but gets it wrong at the same time. I see myself in him at times, because he can't let even the smallest things go!😆
Damn Mocha Joe
Larry had the beans all along and he didn't know it!!
it would have been better writing if mocha joe had said, "i'm a coffe barrista who works for a living, you're a big time producer. we have relative positions in life. you tip me, i don't tip you."
Disagree. It would be more realistic that way, but CYE was never about realism, it's kind of hyper-absurd and designed to cause 'drama'.
I love the enthusiasm in Larry's voice saying 'Mocca Joe'
We don't have a tipping culture in Australia. I guess this underlines that it is a good thing not to have a tipping culture. Instead we have a culture where employers pay a decent wage which was fought hard for back in the days when we had a strong union culture.
Love how he calls him Mocha Joe all the time, never just Joe
If and when you do someone a “favour” you cannot expect money. That is not a favour, in fact it is the antithesis of a favour.
One of the things that annoys me about certain TV shows is the empty props. If you look at the four coffees that mocha joe is holding at the beginning, he swings them around like they're filled with air. They're cups full of coffee in the show, but are clearly just prop cups.
Sadly 98% of the world is like Joey there. Everything has to be tit for tat.
I concur.
+Shinobihiden Probably true, but Larry has a knack for attracting assholes.
+EmXtraMoney there was no tat, there was no tit!
+Shinobihiden Not in LA
+EmXtraMoney
mocha Joe is RIGHT
Acting without acting. I f-in love this episode !!
Think that is a real Miro in the background?
i was thinking exactly the same thing too, I would imagine it is
"You got some secrets mocha joe?" Lol
Tipping culture in the US is insane. I hated it when I was there. You should have a minimum wage, this is so undignified.
Some of the BEST comedic writing on the planet! Hahahahaha! Larry David is a comedic freakin' genius! (Hadn't seen this one.)
what's with American's and tips?
So there is no tipping in Australia (having said that, if you want to for good service all round). When someone here says 'do me a favour?' It just gets done. No innuendos
Mocha Jerk!
4:15 Larry could easily pay a guy to deliver MJ's bag of beans lol
I'm giving the thumbs down, for having the add during the whole thing 👎😒
mocha Joe doesn't deserve a thumbs down
what ad? is your computer infected or something
oh I see what you mean fair enough
Same
"I'll read it with dinner" Genius sarcasm, AKA your book sucks!
It meant "this is a really short book". (Plus: "It took you a year to write this little book?)
That coffee guy is a real jerk!
Yes. But Larry is a bigger one!
Worse than Stalin.
"I'll read it with dinner" 😂
a 100 people already put up the same comment bro!! C'MON!! having said that, it's hilarious
Mocha joe seems like a real jerk
Having said that, he’s a nice guy
"I'll read it with dinner" hahahaha
and i'll get one of the vanilla bullshit things Mocha Joe!
Larry David really reminds me of a man once in charge of the New York Yankees..
Curb your enthusiasm is way better than Seinfeld
@Jordanime LOL funny how no one picked up on the glasses disappearing in mere seconds...
Peter Koning I didn't even notice. Good eye!
Mocha joe is working. Asking him to do something extra during the execution Of his job should be a tip. Mocha joe is not larrys friend.
He was going there anyway
@@wishiwassleeping2829 ok since you going to the store anyways.... Here a list of what you should get me. And bring these 5 bags also.
Killa Skrilla That would take up a lot of extra time, what Larry was asking Joe to do made zero difference to his day
I feel like "Acting Without Acting" implies that the actor is so engrossed in their role that they essentially become the character they're playing. They play themselves because they're so immersed. If you're on the set between takes, you're not acting. Immerse yourself in the character and turn the camera on though, and you're acting without really acting.
Jason could have explained his pamphlet that way.
I hate American tipping culture, you serfs need to use your brain and realise paying a barman a buck for opening a bottle, 2 seconds work, or paying an unskilled labourer 20% for bringing plates to your table, so that high school dropout earns more than a teacher ... bizarre. I pay 10%, standard asa gesture of appreciation.
James S American tipping actually has its origins in racism. it gave white employers of recently free black slaves an easy way to get out of paying their servers while still reaping the profits of their labor. A lot of nonsensical American practices originate in racism. Like block busting . That's where you intimidate white home owners into selling their houses by telling them a bunch of black people are moving in. This allows them to flip the houses for a profit.
Exactly , more often than not servers a fine, some even great. They deserve the tip then, but making it mandatory takes away the gesture as you said
No one cares.
MrRadaikon im black but i bust houeses
If you tip 10% for good service in the US, you will be yelled at on the way out the door, and you will receive spit in your food if you ever go back there.
Joe’s favor is WAY bigger than Larry’s. Joe was already going that way like wtf
"I'll read it with dinner", OUCH!
Larry never closed his trunk!
