Based on true events, Foxcatcher tells the dark and fascinating story of the unlikely and ultimately tragic relationship between an eccentric multi-millionaire (Steve Carell) and two champion wrestlers (Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo). Directed by Academy Award® nominee Bennett Miller (2005, Best Director, Capote), it is a rich and moving story of brotherly love, misguided loyalty and the corruption and emotional bankruptcy that can accompany great power and wealth.

That's the real Mark Schultz who is watching the scale at the beginning of this scene. Just noticed. This movie is underrated.

I feel bad for the real Mark Schultz. They portrayed him inaccurately for the sake of dramatization. The real Mark Schultz wasn't even at foxcatcher at the same time as his brother Dave.

You know that people add sounds to movies, right?

@@yourdaddy9622 yeah it’s called foley and they may have used it, but I don’t think it was that. The hits don’t look pulled and why wouldn’t Tatum take a few real hits for his first real prestige film? And if your actor is willing to punch himself, I’d imagine you roll sound on that to get the most realism.

@@johansmallberries9874 have him bruised up for the next scene? Nah. They’d say I like where you’re going, but we’re going to slap a ham with a shoe. He reportedly passed on the actual physical self abuse, and went with the effects department. They asked if it came out to his liking for the film, and he exclaimed a vigorous “my name is Jeff” to green light the motion picture teetering on the relativity of the scene. You have to let the credits play all the way through on the 21 jump street dvd. It’s an easter egg as the kids say. Clear as day. Hope this helps. Chars.
