  • Join us on a fun-filled educational trip to Coloma, California where the first speck of gold was found that started the California Gold Rush back in 1848. We tour the Gold Discovery Museum, take a 1.5 mile hike along the Gold Discovery Trail to see the different types of gold mining methods, tour some of the historic buildings, cross over the Coloma Bridge and visit the Sutter Mill site where they first found gold in California. Very impressive California State Park and educational day trip to the western foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to learn more about a very important part of history that put a young State of California on the map and shaped our nation. Great for all ages and this area is beautiful and very scenic.
