Thanks. Glad you liked it. Not that it really matters, but the entire point of this production was for the company who own the chase vehicles to practice chasing as well as show what the result may look like. No one got paid and we had no budget what so ever. Everyone worked for free and every single piece of equipment was borrowed. And to me, that's part of what makes this so awesome. We were all just having a great time creating something cool :)
This is the difference between passion and money... When you do it for money, you do not need passion. But who needs money when you do stuff like this because it is your passion?
I think I saw this video when it got out, and almost every few months I come back to watch it, can"t skip a single scene... It inspires me in many ways and still does move my mind into a peaceful place. If I ever go to heaven and it's gonna be a drift video, this will be a great part of my place. And I'm pretty sure it will take 10 more years for someone to produce something this inspiring. You guys rock!
Thanks. The positive feedback far outnumbers the few negative ones, and most of the negative ones are based on a lack of understanding of what we were trying to achieve. Einstein once said "Don't judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree". So when people complain about the slow motion or the music, it really doesn't bother us, as this was the kind of video we wanted to make this time. I have plenty of videoes on my channel with engine sound and normal speed. Guess how many views they have ;)
My very first car was a 1977 Cressida, same blue colour as this one, but with only 100 hp as the factory issued. It went to recycling in the 90s due to FeO..
When she put the boys in place, I was getting my hopes up... even tho I didn't see them after that shot, the video sure made up for it! Gotta love old Japanese cars!
Maaan... One of my favorite videos! Fredrik, I've heard a lot about you at Nesodden (I used to live there) - also love that road. We have some common friends as well. Unfortunately live in Chicago now, truly hope to see you one day! That Cressida is a true beauty - wish I could give it a spin. Good luck and thank you!
Those Scandinavians are beasts! Really been loving all the crazy out-of-the-ordinary builds and drivers coming out of there recently. Them along with the Kiwis are taking over!
Despite all the comments criticising this video by people who probably couldn't do what you have done. This video is absolutely awesome. The music fits in bang on with the slow motion footage and you have a great skill I would love to do. Good on ya fella
oh man once my friend said to me tht he found "some fancy stuff"ok i can wach...the truth is that that video and that song are 2 best tresures on youtube that i found i was waching this so many times maybe it seek. after all that years its still my numer one i hope that great car conquer new roads:)thx for all happines that i have from that clip and sory for my pathetic english
What a great combo of road and car. Would've liked to see more clean shots from that camera on the mercedes, but whatever. This is still so much fun to watch. Props man, I remember seeing that video of you in the yellow hatchi almost ten years ago. Glad to see you're still going strong!
Usually i like to hear more of the motor/exhaust sound. And also i dont often watch drift videos. But this one has a really special atmosphere that is catching me again and again. I really like the music and the music really fits the video, the scenes and so on. And so i nearly watched this one more often then all other drift videos together! Nice work and nice drifting by the way ;) (and also nice girl, i dont have to say ^^)
It's nice to see this clip even whit Sørlie in it it's just amazing.I was looking for this video very long and finally found it!! If i could i would buy this car :D
The video is epic, I love how you used it as practice for the chase cars, and love the soundtrack; matches the video perfectly. Come out to Los Angeles when you have a chance for some Touge fun :)
i have that same mx32 cressida since quite a short time and i LOOOVE yours ! i've just found a fresh set a longchamps myself , which is pretty rare in FRANCE ... but15inches...will do the job ! 'have a question : how did you lowered her ? i found some T3 coilovers for the front , but nothin' to fit rear...GRR ^^ best regards from FRANCE , you're a BOSS keep rubbin' the touge
Hi. Longchamps are rare in Norway too. Haven't seen any other sets. At the front we run Tokico HTS102 dampers on shortened original struts with a threaded coilover conversion tube. At the back I also run Tokico HTS102, but with a slip over threaded tube. Very simple and works great :)
So would we, but unfortunately we didn't have time or equipment to do a sound recording. Most of the movie is shot with a RED Epic at 100-150fps, so we had no other option than go for more of a music video. Sorry, we will make sure to record sound for the next one, as the car sounds pretty sweet :D
Det er filmet i Bunnebakkene som ligger ca 3 mil sør for Oslo. Etter du passerer Vinterbrosenteret kjøret du ca 2 km og da tar du av til høyre. Da kjører du opp bunnebakkene
anyway we can know what the spec list on that cressida is. B/c i have one that been in my family for a long time and i wanna restore some of the luster in it.
I love this car! I'm putting a 2jz-ge into an MS65 Crown and would love to know more about this build. Are there any write ups on this car and how it came together online anywhere? Great vid too. Love the chase car shots!
Creative choice. Simple as that. We wanted to shoot this with high end equipment in slow motion with a custom music score. Not every movie needs to have engine noise, although I enjoy that too. This was a more artsy project. If you go to my channel, you will see that the next video we did, "Scandinavian Flickfest", is the exact opposite with 100% focus on awesome sound, recorded with multiple microphones and proper equipment ;)
OMG.. This is like exactly the way I would build a Cressida if I had one! I'm turning 18 during the winter and I'm really stoked on this one! I wonder, is it the 77 or the 79? And I guess it's an 2jz(GE?) You got under the hood! (I've watched like all of your other videos so..) And if I were to buy a stock 2JZ, would it take like forever to put it together? It would be banging if you could reply!
Hey man. It's a '77 and runs a completely stock 2JZ-GE. If you use something like a MK1 Supra (MA46) as a donor, you might be able to use that crossmember and pretty much drop the 2JZ straight in. However, we built a new crossmember and suspention arms for the entire car for better handling. Good luck with your project! :)
Thanks. Glad you liked it. Not that it really matters, but the entire point of this production was for the company who own the chase vehicles to practice chasing as well as show what the result may look like. Fredrik Sørlie absolutely awsome video man beautiful car too
This is the difference between passion and money... When you do it for money, you do not need passion. But who needs money when you do stuff like this because it is your passion?
This video is the sole reason I decided I needed to own an MX32 one day. One day, it will happen.
2021
You sir, are a legend👍🏻
Still watching this after 10 years later
That makes my heart smile, thanks!
This camera makes real life look better than real life.
And here we are 2021
So what's it like 6 years in the future? Has anyone started drifting the flying cars?
@@josesammut9396 ?
thats called editing
2:12 the chase vehicle hits the apex better than most people in racing games lol
What in the freak that's actually true
Thanks, I did my best! That big, heavy ML wasn't exactly what I would call agile😂

all these years later i still come back and watch this video to get me pumped up about going out at night in the touge........
Ahh. That gives me the Inspiration to rebuild the drift machine. Only an rb25 +g30 in an s chassis. Rolled it. But keep it keeping it keeping it on. 💯

Awesome touge track & awesome driving & filming! More!!!
This is like the coolest video i've ever seen..
I'm in love with that Cressida 😍
Actually, it's our own production. Lars Dahl is the guy behind the music. Search soundcloud for his name or the title of the video :)
Beautiful car an lovely drifts, can tell you can take the corners tighter but u jus wanted to let her eat 💪. Love tha.
Easily one of my favorite drifting videos I've seen, awesome stuff!

This car was in the Norwegian racing movie "Børning" :D Look it up
i own the rims from the car. sits on my ke70
I definitely say this is a beautiful video. Not usually a fan of that type of car but I can respect a tastefully built car.
