    Thanks. Glad you liked it. Not that it really matters, but the entire point of this production was for the company who own the chase vehicles to practice chasing as well as show what the result may look like. No one got paid and we had no budget what so ever. Everyone worked for free and every single piece of equipment was borrowed. And to me, that's part of what makes this so awesome. We were all just having a great time creating something cool :)

      This is the difference between passion and money... When you do it for money, you do not need passion. But who needs money when you do stuff like this because it is your passion?

It inspires me in many ways and still does move my mind into a peaceful place. If I ever go to heaven and it's gonna be a drift video, this will be a great part of my place. And I'm pretty sure it will take 10 more years for someone to produce something this inspiring. You guys rock!

    I have to say, the car is good, the video is filmed good, the video by itself it's good, but please tell me why would you delete that beautiful sound of that beautiful engine and replace it with music? I mean it was supposed to be a car video right? then our music is whatever the engine is in the car, doesn't matter if it's a inline 3 cylinder... just leave the sound of the engine :D
    great video if I haven't mentioned it earlier :D

    • @FredrikSoerlie
      @FredrikSoerlie 10 лет назад +45

      It's been answered before, but no sound was ever deleted or replaced. The video was filmed with a RED Epic, a proper cinema style, top end camera at high framerate. This camera does not record sound, and we did not have proper sound recording equipment available. We will bring that for our next production though!

    Thanks. The positive feedback far outnumbers the few negative ones, and most of the negative ones are based on a lack of understanding of what we were trying to achieve. Einstein once said "Don't judge a fish by it's ability to climb a tree". So when people complain about the slow motion or the music, it really doesn't bother us, as this was the kind of video we wanted to make this time. I have plenty of videoes on my channel with engine sound and normal speed. Guess how many views they have ;)

    • @FredrikSoerlie
      @FredrikSoerlie 10 лет назад +2

      Asa Herring Oh, we know! But when you plan a production there are always compromises, and this time we chose to make more of an artistic, score based production with state of the art cameras. These do not record sound..We will bring audio recording equipment the next time though, cause the car sounds pretty sweet :D

    @FredrikSoerlie 11 лет назад

    So would we, but unfortunately we didn't have time or equipment to do a sound recording. Most of the movie is shot with a RED Epic at 100-150fps, so we had no other option than go for more of a music video. Sorry, we will make sure to record sound for the next one, as the car sounds pretty sweet :D

    As you are not the first to claim that, I must point out that "touge" is nothing but the japanese word for "pass". As this is a twisty pass through a valley, I'd say it's most definately classified as a touge.

    OMG.. This is like exactly the way I would build a Cressida if I had one! I'm turning 18 during the winter and I'm really stoked on this one! I wonder, is it the 77 or the 79? And I guess it's an 2jz(GE?) You got under the hood! (I've watched like all of your other videos so..) And if I were to buy a stock 2JZ, would it take like forever to put it together? It would be banging if you could reply!

    • @FredrikSoerlie
      @FredrikSoerlie 10 лет назад +3

      Hey man. It's a '77 and runs a completely stock 2JZ-GE. If you use something like a MK1 Supra (MA46) as a donor, you might be able to use that crossmember and pretty much drop the 2JZ straight in. However, we built a new crossmember and suspention arms for the entire car for better handling.
      Good luck with your project! :)

    Unfortunate that it is so easy to attach engineered pseudomusic to every video. Especially, it takes the soul out of car videos. Motorheads want to hear the machinery, not just because it is noise, but because it gives so much information about what is happening.

    I don't get the whole movement to make car videos focused on the camera work, editing and visual imagery, rather than the actual driving of the car. These videos are cool, but nothing compared to pure, static action-cam videos of some amateur driving fast down a twisty road.

  • @trd710
    @trd710 10 лет назад +1

    this is a vergood video alot of skill but i must make the point of seperating touge from drifting...drifting is the controlled slide of the car and touge is going fast as you can from one end of a complex road to the other end to set time and/or race(some times a drift is used when the car is not perfectly set up)

    • @FredrikSoerlie
      @FredrikSoerlie 10 лет назад +2

      I must arrest you on that. A touge is nothing but the japanese word for a mountain pass. A touge race would be what you describe, but you may very well drift a touge.

      Creative choice. Simple as that. We wanted to shoot this with high end equipment in slow motion with a custom music score. Not every movie needs to have engine noise, although I enjoy that too. This was a more artsy project. If you go to my channel, you will see that the next video we did, "Scandinavian Flickfest", is the exact opposite with 100% focus on awesome sound, recorded with multiple microphones and proper equipment ;)

    Stereotypes much? Do you have to be skinny to drift or something? jeez..

    Usually i like to hear more of the motor/exhaust sound. And also i dont often watch drift videos. But this one has a really special atmosphere that is catching me again and again. I really like the music and the music really fits the video, the scenes and so on.
    And so i nearly watched this one more often then all other drift videos together!
    Nice work and nice drifting by the way ;) (and also nice girl, i dont have to say ^^)
