Erlok Grael was Thresh's name before the ruination. He was a "Thresher", whom guarded and patrolled the lower depths of the vaults of Helia, and its down there that he discovers the Well of Ages. Annddd we all know how it ends up from there. Seriously though, the Ruination Novel is a must read, very good story that goes indept on all the lore.
