Love your enthusiasm and your hubby doesn't mind being in the kitchen with you because your meals are not long and drawn out with pre-prep, thank you keep positive and enjoy all.....
Your dishes are always so good. The broccoli, sausage, and tortellini turned out amazing, and I made it. I ate for 3 days. Thank you! I added grape tomatoes and drizzled Italian dressing over it. delicious. The only thing I would do differently for lasagna is pre-saute onion first, then add the burger to cook with onion and garlic, before adding sauce. Crunchy onion in pasta sauce is not the best. I Then pre grate the Parmesan cheese in a bowl. It's too hard to do that up in the air. Then I can get lots on. I then add 1/2c. Of Parmesan and one raw egg mixed into ricotta. It binds it and adds to the flavor. My Italian Aunt from Italy always did that with Ricotta. I tried it and liked the flavor too. These are all fantastic and have made several over the last year. Great videos Justine!🥰
I personally LOVE the Way Justine uses "short cuts". Anyone who has a busy family should be very proud of themselves for any Home Cooking that they do!
I really wish people wouldn't be so critical. If whoever doesn't like her cooking, get off or get your own channel! Justine does a fine job and what's more is her fiance loves her cooking and her.
Very interesting ideas for easy quick meals. I don’t want to be overly critical. I appreciate you putting yourself out there. Some (hopefully seen as) constructive criticism….The manicotti dish in my opinion would have been so much better if you had just done a single layer, n filled the whole baking dish, OR used an 8 x 8. If you wanted to layer ingredients. And as you mentioned, you don’t need nearly that much water. In addition, put all the spices and sauce in with the meat after you’ve drained it n then add. Good luck on your cooking journey. ❤
For the lasagna, brown the meat in an ovenproof non-stick skillet with sides, drain off the fat, mix in your sauce, assemble the rest of the recipe in that skillet and finish in the oven or covered on top of the stove. Uses one pan, easier to serve because of depth, and more tasty because the flavors will meld better in a smaller cooking space than spreading out the ingredients thinly over a baking sheet. Cover the skillet with an ovenproof lid or foil so the top surface doesnt get dried out. Remove lid to apply mozzarella and allow it to melt uncovered on lasagna.
Ok Justine, those dishes look awesome, delicious, different, and kind of easy to make... I would certainly try them. Now tell us, how can you look so skinny great with so much pasta?? Thank you
Looks like the manicotti could have fit side by side in the bottom of the dish. Instead of making a tower with dry pasta on top. I can't imagine it got cooked.
Try adding your basil at the end after your dishes are cooked. Basil doesn't hold up to the heat of cooking for long periods of time. It loses a great deal of flavor. Some herbs are fine with long cooking, but basil is "fragile." God Bless 🥰
Basil is a staple of Thai dishes & soups and it stands up just fine to cooking and boiling. It’s cilantro that is fragile and should be served fresh, IMHO.
I think I would mix all ingredients in a bowl then put it on the cookie sheet. Getting a mouthfuls of garlic would be off putting to me . Plus you would get a better distribution of flavor . Just suggestions. 😊
I would make every one of these. Thanks for letting us know about the water addition and to use less. You’re learning about the Parmesan cheese if you buy the ungrated, that’s great. I'm new to this channel. Is there any place to see the written recipe for the manicotti? That would be helpful for the first time making it - then you could tweak it if you wanted to. It looks delicious but would love the exact recipe if possible!
When you asked about a better way to distribute the garlic I thought you might like to mix it with the oil before you drizzled it over the sheet dinner. I love your recipes. They provide a lot of inspiration.
For the sausage, tortollini abd brocolli dish, i suggest that you add a little broth or seasoned water (not much) to the pan to ensure the fresh buitoni tortellu cooks properly. It appeared to be a bit tough because it was mussibg sone moisture. (Or cook it slightly before adding to sheet pan, but not fully as it will finish in the oven)

You grated the hard rind of the Parmesan cheese!!!! Even professional chefs don't make that mistake. They grate the pointy end first. When the rind is the only thing left, then they toss the rind into soup or something to help add flavor. But i don't think you're supposed to eat it
@@cynthiasanchez6346 you shouldn't teach others a subject you don't know. At least have the editors put something on screen during that scene that says DON'T GRATE THIS END
Yes, I was horrified when she grated the rind on the Parmesan. That is what you add to soup to enhance the flavor. Take it out before you serve it and throw it away.
Some people think they know how to cook.she obviously is one of them. Looks good what she tries to do but she needs to not rush what's she's doing and measure more carefully. Her food won't be so watery
Its obvious that she gets a lot of complaints on her videos and I believe its for good reason. After watching a few of them, I believe there is a lack of honesty..for example, using a whole 1lb box of velveeta cheese in crockpot macaroni is ridiculous and disgusting. I know because I've used too much Velveeta in my mac and cheese before and it ruined it and as for this manicotti bake, it's obvious that the top layer of pasta did not cook completely, how would it with just a little bit of pasta sauce on top? If she covered it with foil it would've steamed, but even then I would question it. Honesty is so important, because you have people who just don't know any better wanting to try these recipes and how disheartening would it be especially for those just learning how to cook like her, spending all that money on ingredients only for it to be an inedible mess. And if that were me, I would report her videos as false advertisement because that's exactly what this is. Sewing and reaping is a part of life, so I would say to all youtubers..be truthful with your audience.
You were asking easy way to distribute garlic, personally, I would have used a disposable bowl or regular ( big) put all ingredients and hand toss then put on tray to bake No a criticism just a suggestion😊
