Hello Robert!!! Thank you for making this video. I was wondering if I needed that extra transmitter and you mentioned that it was not needed with the IV version. I have one Yongnou already and absolutely love it. I was looking for extra lighting and your video helped me make the right (and cheaper) decision. Thank you so much!!!
+Just Liza Hay Hey there. I'm glad I could help. I really like these flash. They have been very consistent for me, and when compared to the competition, I can't see one feature that I can produce on these manual flash that a $700 flash would do better. That's not to say that I don't see the value of the automatic gestures of higher priced strobes, I just can't justify spending more for convenience. I'd prefer to spend less and learn how to properly use flash. Otherwise what's the point? If you're going to work hard at learning about manual exposure, seems pretty silly to let an automatic flash come and ruin it for you. If that's the case might as well just put the camera in auto mode too. I look at it this way, if you know how to use a manual strobe, then if you choose to use an auto exposure strobe at some point, be it for convenience or whatever, then at least you know the differences between the two. But if all you ever use is TTL, then you will always be at the mercy of the flash. I'd prefer to be the one making the choices, not the camera/flash. Thanks for the comment.

Fuji sync speed used to be something that bothered me (except for the X100 series with the leaf shutter). Even my Nikon D3200 can sync at 1/200s, but my X-T1 syncs only at 1/180s. But then, X-Pro2 improved and it can sync at 1/250s.
Robert Hamm Photography Thanks. It was a rainy day, I did what I could :) It's the second time you encourage me to make a video, I should get my channel up and running soon. Well, drop the "should", I will get it up and running. Thanks, man.
Hi, I have only had a dslr for a week and at the same time bought a Yongnuo YN560111 but for the life of me can’t work out how it works? Please help! Barry Spain
Great video! I’m just getting started with photography so this will sound like a silly question... Do I have to buy a triggering device in order to use the YN560IV off the camera (Not on the hotshoe)?
hi, is it possible to trigger another YN560 off the camera using another YN560 on the Hotshoe.. since they have built in transmitter/receiver? Nikon user here... thanks! Nice video!
+Joey R hi. Good question. Yes you can, but the series 4 is the best option because it does not need to be set up for the transmitter to work. The series 3 requires some additional services up before it will work as a transmitter. However, the YN560TX, the transmitter, works out of the box with both series with no issue. Keep in mind that this will be complete manual flash, no TTL, and no HSS. The system does support stroboscopic settings though.
+Joey R hi Joey, that's great because you can use that to fire series 3 and 4 strobes while firing with it as the master on camera flash. I do this a lot. I just got back from shooting school portraits today where I used 4 flash, one in the camera as a master, one for my rim light, one for my background light, and one for my main light. I was using shoot through umbrellas, soft boxes, and a light sphere (to up-light the background. Cheers.
great set up.. thanks! when my budget permits i'll get 2 more (althogh it is cheaper).. for now i have just one to start... (on board).. i forgot to mention i'm on DX... D5500.
Hello Jan. Although the 560 system does not support the HSS standard, it has stroboscopic functionality. SO, you can get a similar result with a some practice. I have found that the method I described in the video works well, you just have to have to experiment a bit to find what works best for your camera. Cheers!
+Djaygizmo so there are a lot of different G7 cameras and I don't own any of them. If your camera is a film camera then it should work without an issue. If your camera is a digital.camera make.sure that the camera is set up to use an external flash on the hot shoe and check the owners manual. Otherwise contact Yongnuo. They are very helpful. Cheers.
It’s nice to hear about all the awesome features , but maybe some Examples on how to utilize the flashes features would of been nice ..
Hello Robert The Yongnuo YN560 iv with trigger,tx II , but it stopped working what can be the problem?

Are the videos showing how to use this thing?? Only finding reviews driving me insane! Thx in advance.
Probably the way you feel mostly: frustrated. News flash, pun intended, Google the manual and, get this, READ IT.

Hi. Not a silly question at all. Yes. If you want to use the YN560 iv off camera, then you will need the YN560tx on the camera hotshoe.
Thanks for the video!

Really nice video!
So basically with the yongnuo 560iv and the 560 tx controller I can get hss like flash?

Robert, thanks for this helpful review!
+AerialLensVideo Glad you found this helpful. Thanks for saying so. Cheers.
Great video Robert, very useful!
Hi David. Thanks for saying so. Glad you liked it. Cheers!
hi dose the flash trigger work on olympus omds and fuji x100t
the yn 560IV can only control 3 groups as a transmiter to control 6 groups you need the 560 tx
+Mauricicio Schneegans Yes. 6 groups with the Tx. Three groups with the the flash unit itself.
So if I put this on my G7 it won't flash when I press the shutter trigger? do I have to press two buttons at once?
+Djaygizmo so there are a lot of different G7 cameras and I don't own any of them. If your camera is a film camera then it should work without an issue. If your camera is a digital.camera make.sure that the camera is set up to use an external flash on the hot shoe and check the owners manual. Otherwise contact Yongnuo. They are very helpful. Cheers.
good one, Dude!
No problem. Happy to have helped!
Can you advise me Canon 600EX-RT vs Yongnuo YN560 iv which one is good to buy :)
I wish it was still $65.00 bucks.
Yeah. Pretty cheap, still.
