Hey Marie! I would love to see a video about summertime lesson planning! I start my first teaching job in the fall and I’m excited but I don't know where to begin!

Perfect timing since I am grading end of the year right now, and also planning how to be more efficient with grading for next year.
    Thank you!!

I am an English teacher as well. Currently drowning in figurative piles of grading (eLearning and all). I appreciate your tips! Hope to utilize them next fall. (Also, I have heard the phrase “Eat the frog first” 😉🐸)

Hi... I'm glad to have found this video. I'm a teacher too and these tips are worth it. Thanks for sharing.

When I was a TA in college, grading took my HOURSSS, and it was for an art history class where everything was short-answer lol.

I don't give busy work. Feel like I always need more time.

I have a question! Do you get to chose the books you teach? Or do you have to stick to a state curriculum?

I was wondering if there's a way to catch up with my past grades, I'm in my Junior year but I still have lots of work to do from my Sophomore and Freshmen year and somehow made it to 11th grade(I'm 17 tho), What happens once I turn 18 can I still study, I really want to graduate but I'm losing hope since I'm almost 18(I just turned 17 on September 5th , 2022, So still got a year left), They're putting me to do work but haven't told me anything about my past grades, I'm gonna be brutally frank If I graduate I do care but If I don't I don't care either, I'm gonna start developing good skills for my future, I'll get a job on the weekends, And see how everything turns out

Good luck! Maybe doing an alternative school would be helpful - hopefully your district offers something like that where you complete work on your own time in a more accelerated pace.

I'd like to know how your grade is going differently now that most schools are currently not in session in the traditional setting. Thank you for the tips. I found one tool that helped me was that have my slots in my online gradebook created before I started to grade.

A lot more of my assignments are for credit right now, and if they are done correctly they get credit. I also have waaaaayyyy more late work I am accepting because of school closures than normal...

Ok but for your overall grade for the entire year do they go by Q4 or S2 ??

Since it is quarters, we gave traditional grades for Q3 mid-April, and now Q4 is being graded as Credit/No Mark. Students who receive Credit will have that reflected on their transcript, but nothing will affect their GPA.
