I'm always cutting my own hair and this is the cut I have now lol. This cut literally took 10 years off her. This is definitely the cut for her. She looks beautiful!!!
I am a 71 year old woman who’s been in self quarantine since March. My hair made me look 91 and I was pretty down. After watching your video my wonderful husband tackled cutting my hair for the first time. It took over an hour while he followed your guidelines on the screen. Now I feel like a new woman and it’s all thanks to your inspiration. Of course I don’t look like CJ but I think I look pretty good for an older lady. Thank you and stay safe.

I have never had short hair. I needed my hair trimmed but the pandemic started. I decided to get a pixie cut, and to my surprise I loved it. Got five positive comments as I left the salon. My husband loved it. I just turned seventy and I wish I had done this years ago, it’s so much easier to take care of. I measured fourteen inches in length cut off. Now I would like to have a topper made. Any suggestions about how to do that?

As one of the first scissor cutting stylists of the 70s. Trained in London by the Chadwick's, watching Adam restored my faith in the profession. I just watched another video tutorial that was abominable by a Redken stylist. Watching Adam was like watching the quality of style cutting that i was taught. Im so tired of the sloppy unfinished styles I've been seeing over the last 10+ years. "Hairdressers" have been getting away with junk styling that if i had turned out that quality of work i would have been terminated and sent back to school. Most "stylist's" don't even know how to properly use a curling iron... that's why they finish with incomplete curls that won't make it an hour out of the salon. What im seeing on the street proves my point. Everyone wears their hair in a ponytail because they don't have a haircut good enough to support a style and definitely doesn't allow for the client to produce a style on their own. Great work Adam 👍
100% agree hairdressers now don't know how to do a basic haircut uniform haircut that blends in without having to razor or taper or chop into which are all fine techniques IF you have a proper haircut to support it. So good to see someone actually CUT a style using sections and guidelines 🙌

Totally agree. My stylist gives me the same cut every time I go and it's not cheap. My hair is very fine and I'm mid 70's so I put up with it and I end up with a ponytail because it doesn't have any shape.

Watching you texturize is amazing. I used to cut. My teacher taught pivot point in beauty school in Santa Barbara, CA. This was 1977. I'm in Ohio now and wish I could cut my own hair. You cut CJ's hair exactly how I used to cut hair. I only cut for a short time as I was offered a teaching position with Redken International. After a year I moved back home to Cincinnati. I can't find a hairdresser who cuts by sight. They do the same cut on everyone. Thank you for reminding me what a great haircut looks like as it's being created. Always wet and take small sections and so much more. I am now a follower. 🌏🌎💖

That's basically how I wear my hair, but would give anything to have as much hair as she does. I would pay big money to have an expert, precise cut by him! The cut is everything.

Amazing haircut. I used to have my hair cut by two of the founding brothers at Tony and Guy. They cut it like this hairdresser, always perfection. Never found a decent hairdresser since that time.
I love this guy!!! He works with your personality, edginess, and actually takes time to ask you near the end of the haircut whether you want more cut before he cuts anymore!! Amazing, and I love the edgy haircut!!!! Wish he was here in the USA 🇺🇸, I’d have him cut my hair tomorrow!!!

This is by far, the most amazing haircut I have ever seen (and I have been a short haired girl for years now). It opens up her face, her features and I absolutely love that he says "wash and go is how it's gotta be." Done. Great video.

I just followed this tutorial and cut my own pixie!! (Quarantine, man, you gotta do what you gotta do.) It wasn’t exactly easy, but I had a mirror in front and behind me so it was doable. It took a bit of time, no lie. But it looks pretty good!! I couldn’t have done it without your video, which is the best haircut tutorial I’ve ever seen. Thank you SO much! I really think I could give a friend a great pixie cut now, haha!

Getting a first-rate haircut no matter what the cost is on my bucket list... Gifted hair artists are extraordinarily rare.
First thing I always see is how thick her hair is. You can do anything with hair like that. Needless to say I am envious. She looks amazing. Great job.
You make it look so easy but as someone who has cut hair many times (I’m not a hair stylist but more like being forced to cut hair by family who are cheap, lol), it’s not. Understanding how the hair naturally falls, cowlicks, other irregularities is not something even some seasoned stylists take into account (my sister has told me many times after a cut that the hair at my nape looks like a goat chewed it off, lol). This is watching a master at work and I really appreciate the chance to see you doing this gorgeous cut.
Also I love how you had her style it herself that's so important! You are such an incredible stylist.

Aware of her comfort?!! It was all she could do to prevent her head from falling off her neck he was so goddam rough with her. She was utterly exhausted (and angry, if you watched the last bit before the very end.) GREAT cut, but he's a bit of a misogynist under the perfectionist attitude. Doesn't take away from his exceptional skill, but let's not pretend he was being considerate, thoughtful, or caring about her "comfort." She was as much the professional (an ideal model) as he played the "clearly superior" (i.e., inconsiderate and rough) creative Maestro act!

I once got rejected by a Korean salon because the director refused to cut and style my natural curl hair without being permed. Dejected, I went to a Japanese salon asking for perm, but my stylist insisted he can give me a cut which accentuated the natural curl and taught me the blow dry and styling technique to bring those curls alive. Best stylist. He now opens his own salon overseas.
So true. About three years ago I gave up on my hair stylist after her ego got the best of her. I tried two other hairdressers, one, after asking me what I wanted, and me telling her I liked how the back flipped up, said first thing I’m going to do is get rid of that wonky neckline!😩 After that I let my hair grow and my hair was on it’s way to reaching my waist, had no style and made me feel frumpy, so I gave in, got my hair cut by yet a different hairstylist, it wasn’t horrible, but really not close to what I’d wanted. Last week, I went back to the first hairdresser, she did cut it shorter which I’d ask her to do, but that’s about it. I think my journey back to long hair as begun. 😐

I am way hotter , now, than I was at 30, actually, so the ageism can really be knocked off at any time. Women are taking better care of themselves, now, and 50 used to be matronly and "old" in my mother's generation, but please...I am still setting trends.

I used to go to a hair salon in the early 90s on Queen West in Toronto. The stylists were all from Vidal Sassoon in London, England. The only names I remember are Martin and Liam. They were the best. Martin was a hoot. I really enjoy watching your videos! Easy to follow with great explanations.

Absolutely!! I had a wonderful stylist she was insanely talented or is insanely talented I should say. Her daughter became ill and she no longer works. I can’t find anyone else. I live in small town USA so it no one comprehends that I do NOT want an old lady haircut.

@@michadawn234 don't know where you live but you will probably have to take a drive to a nearby metropolitan city. Stylist with any talent don't bother with small towns. That's not to say it can't happen tho. Now that we're dealing with this covid nonsense it's going to be tougher. Good luck. Wish i could guide you further but don't know what part of the country your in.

CJ is young and beautiful and that bob looked great on her, but I am 69 and it grew out a mop and I took the plunge and had a photo of a cute sort of pixie and I am thrilled. The operator used a razor giving me lots of volume. I know that bobs are boss, but don't be afraid to live on the edge. God Bless
