They say Winter comes in Lion and out Like a Lamb... if that is true, then we have a nice Spring coming to us. Haines' weather was predicted to be 2-4" of snow. Instead, we had nearly two feet (60cm).
Haines was not ready. We were not ready. Roads were not plowed. Ice was thick. This was the first year I used our school's shop to put on our winter tires as we normally don't have snow until well after Halloween.
Things were not put away. As an example, while shoveling our deck, we found two deck chairs that we had been using to sit in the sun.
Also you'll see the remnants of the former Quick Shop of Haines. On October 6th, Haines' small volunteer fire department fought the fire for over 12 hours. At one point, they just tried to keep it from spreading to nearby buildings. The building was a total loss. ((www.adn.com/al...)

was there to see the devastation of the fire ..saw all my wine and beer go up in flames .plus loss of the ice cube machine @ the .45 min mark of the video.47 yrs of memories shopping there .sure was a nice blue sky for the video

Crazy how nice the weather was Saturday and Sunday after all the snow before that. Now cold... -10 C/15 F. Suppose to warm up to 35-40 by Tuesday.
