this is a banger tutorial track. Very inspiring. Always wanted to tackle deep minimal house like this but I could never find tutorials that were good or relevant to the style. Thank you!
Thank you so much for this. I've been stuck trying to get into this style and watched many RUclips tutorials, you have an excellent, articulate teaching style and it finally feels like the principles are sinking in!
Don't get me wrong, I do use loops and so do many, if not most, successful producers. I usually write the core drums and might put a loop as a background layer, or if I'm doing something quite tribal I will use a combination. But for control I usually make the core drums in midi. But for the sake of a tutorial I think there is nothing less helpful than saying "grab some top loops for the drums".
Thanks for your reply! I just stumbled across your channel and this was the first video I watched. I just like to see producers actually knowing how to make everything by themselves. For the sake of workflow I understand loops can be helpful. For me personally I wanted to understand how these top and perc loops are actually made to better understand how create the grooves. Hence, seeing you composing the loops was really helpful! 🫶🏻
Man, this project is straight fire - thanks so much for sharing! As someone who is djing minimal house since many months and years now, I was always keen to learn what it takes to produce this kind of music. I'm already on Ableton and this is gold for me. Thanks again x
Thanks buddy. The channel is growing pretty rapidly which is nice. Just takes time. The videos will be here, so hopefully more people will discover them in the near future! ✌️
The track sounds great which is bringing some confusion. I've always heard layering so many hats in similar frequency range isn't a good idea because it can cause phase cancellation or other phase issues?
A tip from me. Try a shaper for the chord part and the auto filter and map the whole thing to the frequency. This way you have a visual representation and you can change the envelope.
I was about to give up producing then I saw this video. I must have watched this more than 20 times and was inspired again. Thanks for uploading your videos! May I also request a Pavel Petrov or Maksim Dark type tutorial? Thanks Dilby😊
@Samuel Peterson Also, this video has loads of sound design. Taking a source sound, in this case from audio, and transforming it into something else is sound design... 😉
I just came across your channel and is pure fire! Just one question. How much time would you need to make a track like this one? With all the knowledge and tools. In your case I guess something around few hours or usually you spend more in such tracks?? Thanks!!!
To make the beat for one of these videos usually takes me 2-4 hours. It would take me maybe another 4 hours to make this into a completed track. But things don't always go that smoothly on every track I write. Sometimes a track takes me 6 hours. Sometimes it takes me 6 months!
Dilby I have a question! First off great video. Im always super mindful of keeping space in my mixes for when other elements after the drop play together it doesnt sound super cluttered and occupied. I love that you added that many hi-hats but is it ok in terms of mixdown? I used to do that a couple of years ago. I just want to know if it would interfere with clarity of the drop here (minimal drops in general)
Hey bro, like most things in music, I don't think there is a hard and fast rule. What you have described is a potential problem and you are wise to be mindful of that. If your track is sounding too chaotic, one thing to check could be whether you have too many hats. I tend to follow the ethos that less is more and simple is better, but the other side of the coin is, whatever sounds good is good.
@@alechernandez5506minimal back in the day was really minimal though so I get where he coming from. It’s becoming clear as you know stussy has crafted a whole new genre and it’s groovy house in my opinion.

Your tutorials are superb Dilby. I love your music as well. Keep up the great work 👍
This might be the most valuable producing tutorial I´ve seen. Love to see you working almost without loops! Keep it up!

Class as always, love if you tried an Indie Dance style song like Palms Trax or Krystal Klear
Could you do another video like this including the sound design
There are some other videos on the channel that have that...
@@dilbydj alright I will check it out!
@Samuel Peterson Also, this video has loads of sound design. Taking a source sound, in this case from audio, and transforming it into something else is sound design... 😉
@@dilbydj that is right! In my case I meant more starting from a blank osc, yet these sound design tricks are really a game improver 🔥
please release the track, sounds amazing :)
dam it sounds so clean 🔥🔥🔥 btw: where did you get the kick from, your sample pack?
good
Thanks

Thanks for the video sounds great! is there any sample packs you recommend to have for this style of music ?
I use the Sample Market Tools pack from Eastend Dubs. It's really great drum, bass and synth one shots.
@@dilbydj Legend, Thank you!
@@dilbydj hi, what pack? The originals:east end dubs or the east end dubs - single hits ?
@@connorhackney4902 single hits bro
Do you need Ableton 11 for this project file?
What plugins would you recommend for someone making this music who is currently only using stock plugins
Keep going with that. It's all you need bro. 3rd party stuff might give a little different flavour, but it's still the same sauce.
@@dilbydj thanks man
The project file is not yet on ur Patreon ?? !
Yes, it's there
this ain't minimal... its just house music.
Awesome!
This is 100% Minimal / Deep Tech
Listen to Beatport charts

Este track ni siquiera estaria en deep house. Peor minimal house .
🤣🤣🤣
Drop a link to your Spotify so we can hear how a true connoisseur does it buddy! 🤡🤡🤡
Very good video brother, thanks for the information :)
You're welcome mate 😊
