Honestly, I wish I saw this video when I first got started. I was intrigued by all the fancy knives, but this knife can really do as much as you need it to do when it comes to cutting out patterns. This is my go-to knife now after watching your video. Thanks, Jun!

Most utility knife blades use high carbon steel (usually SK5 and SK2 steel) so even though they are quite inexpensive they perform similarly to the stainless steel you'd find in mid-range or even high-end pocket knives.

Just bought this model to replace an old Stanley cutter thanks to your recomandation. Also took some Tajima Razar black carbone blades with them wich should be sharper with more durable hardened edge (on paper at least). I'll give impressions here once received if you're interested. Was considering NT blades at first as they are made in Japan (BL 51P or BL13P) but they' re hard to find in France or even Europe. Tajima's are also really unexpensive.

Tajima blades is nice too. There are many makers in the world makes blade for this kind. Yeah, let me know how you feel as well. hardened edge is better than normal one for sure.

I like the NT I have, it’s the red dot, with 30 mm blades I believe..the black carbon blades are extremely sharp and use them exclusively..

Thanks for mentioning them. Those blade will be also covered later too. I mean, there are many many different types available. I need to some deep research on them.

Yea I work as a graphic designer and help cut out some of the decals for the customers with my NT..and use the black blades when cutting through many 3M laminate layers..I’ve been watching your videos to help with decisions towards a proper pricking iron and think I’m going with a set of Sinabrocks 4.0mm..or 3.85mm..anyway, keep up with your videos, and if you have the time to make a video of your collection of knives maybe? That would be cool to see!

the NT series look very similar to the OLFA one, are there any link, or it's just my impression?

OFLA is the first inventor of "Snap-off" blades and "Rotary" cutter. They are also from Osaka, Japan.
NT cutter and OLFA compete each other for long time but each company have their own specialty products
