Dude was born in a New York slum to a 13-year old heroin addict and he ended up as one of the most important and influential musicians of the last 100 years. What a boss.
Nile is literally a living legend - I'm 50 and I've discovered a lot of his music / tracks over the years and was delighted to learn a number of years ago that he played on Bowie's "Let's Dance", which is one of my favourite songs - it has so many memories for me and I just love the sound of that guitar on it. I became a bass player but have always admired great guitar playing and Nile definitely falls into that category :-)
Not seeing the Captain was kind of disappointed, gotta say. But I decided to watch the interview and I have to say you did an absolute amazing job!! Very honest and humble attitude!!
Legend is a term over used these days..... but Nile is a living legend. So humble, talented and the one dude I’d love to spend an afternoon chatting to. Love him and love the music.
Really refreshing interview! I like how Jack's a big fan, has a lot of passion, is a bit nerdy and can talk about specifics of the how the music is made, and you can see Mr Rogers is really enjoying being interview by Jack! Jolly well done!
Every interview with Nile has so many awesome stories. We should all feel blessed we still have this man in our lives producing amazing music and passing down musical knowledge and historic stories. God bless you Nile and much love to you and your health.
Another great interview. Bet Lee will be pissed at missing this one, LOLZ. Nile is.... he's just one of the most inspirational characters I've ever heard. A true true legend and yes, the world would be a much duller place without his contribution as a writer, guitarist and producer. Proper legend. And yeah, I bet Jack was chuffed to bits to be doing this interview. Nice one. :-)
what a sweet heart guy. when he said he would not be the first black man to play classical chair, I thought he could have. but the lives he touched is many times greater that he chose his path. his producing , composing, and arranging is so huge. let alone his playing. props to Nile and Jack on a great piece. Ü♫
THE GOOD THING about all these interviews is that the Interviewer knows his stuff and more importantly the person being interviewed knows that, so brings in their best performance. This was an excellent interview and is up there with the best. It is a shame we could not have another hour. Bloody great.
NILE RODGERS WAS MY FIRST GUITAR HERO! PRINCE RODGERS NELSON WAS MY SECOND. The ironic thing is, both of Nile’s bass players are originally from North Carolina, where I was born and raised. The matter gets more intense, when I state I grew up with his current bassist JERRY BARNES. We spent countless hours together musically, and his beloved sister became musical director for over 10 years for Saturday Night Live. Nile & Jerry have really bonded on stage musically, and I could have never imagined both my guitar hero’s would end up on stage together, at the 2014 Essence festival. When Jerry reached this world level of musicality, It felt so rewarding in every way. THE DREAM CAME TRUE FOR JERRY, AND I CONSIDER IT A DREAM COME TRUE IN MY HEART AND SOUL TOO...💎💎💎
Well done Jack - you should've have asked him a little more on keys.... but hey, it's Nile, and of course you always have that lovely HSS in the background, so thumbs up to all things strat!
There needs to be a special category in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for people like Nile Rodgers with massive accomplishments in songwriting, musicianship, and production. Nile and Todd Rundgren should be the first honorees.
@@joebryant8500 and he just thought, "this guitars amazing I'm going to go around promoting it to people because I'm a nice guy", please. When's the last time you bought one of his albums?

Great job Jack - so natural - really enjoyed your interview with Nile.
Nile’s one of the few musicians the pandemic couldn’t possibly hold back. An absolute genius instrumentalist, performer, and producer.

Great interview! Was good that you didn't ask the typical questions. One of the better Nile interviews.

This guy worked on the Halo 2 Soundtrack with Marty O'Donnell and Steve Vai. Also John Mayer was there. Took me 15 years to find that out.
Thank you!! 🙏🙏
Really great job Jack, brilliant interview.
Niles is such a cool and down to earth character.

Yup, I hope he's very well paid to stain his image with that thing...
