I enjoy your evercade content. I have had a vs and exp for a few weeks and you have really helped me figure out what good carts to get. I will probly get a super pocket as well. Evercade is so good!!
Thanks for the video, and i respect your opinion. The thing that struck me though, is that I get a sense you're not really fan of retro games overall. Many of the things you seem to criticize or praise are the exact opposite of what appeals to me these classic games. You don't seem to really like the mechanics of platformers, you don't like either Castlevania or Golden Axe, and when it comes to shmups you praise having an energy bar instead of one hit death (most shmup fans prefer the Japanese style tight-gameplay/1 hit death rather than the sloppy EuroShmup style of random patterns made up for by having an energy bar and allowing multiple undogeable hits). Energy Bars are a no no in good Japanese shmups. Watching this review is kind of like watching a non-sports fan critisize the very nature of the game he/she is watching ("this F1 race would be so interesting if not for all those bloody cars everywhere"); something like that.
I can be a fan of retro games without blindly just saying it's all wonderful. And there's more to retro games than just the 80s. Castlevania did it best work in the mid 90s, shootem ups probably peaked in the Dreamcast era, and Golden axe just wasn't a patch on Streets of Rage. Oh and nothing could make F1 interesting
I with you on most of these and in the end I still consider Piko1 the best collection. I've said to other people that Piko1 almost spoiled me to a standard that Evercade does seem interested in continuing. Especially after today's release videos where the next 6 carts in total will have 29 games. Some good looking games but I'm really bummed at the shrinking numbers on the collections.
Yea this cart has really skewed my scoring system. My review is still a few weeks off, but the Piko 3 is looking pretty good so far. Personally I love the shrinking numbers as they mean I can get reviews done faster, Piko 1 took me months!
@@thegamesapprentice Yeah CV 2 is pretty divisive, I'm not a fan personally. Castlevania 1, 3 and 4 (Super CV on the SNES) are brilliant games though. I picked up this Piko Collection last week and have really been enjoying Dragon View the most so far. (8 Eyes is pretty terrible I think, too).

Glad you've found it useful
The most harsh review of Piko 1 I’ve watched yet

One of the best cartridges available my G
True dat
10/10! I enjoyed your DPOD knowledge, but you are wrong about goldenaxe!
Haha, I expand further of my dislike for goldenaxe and the master system in my latest video the iRem collection. Its a few weeks off though
@@thegamesapprentice I’ll make sure I miss that cos ur already completely wrong 😀

@@thegamesapprentice hahaha, well that's one way to look at it 🙂
I agree with a lot of this except for Switchblade thats my favourite game on the cart!
Is that a nostalgia thing or did I miss something with that one? It's been a while but I remember really disliking it
No timestamps...
Watched up until you said the early Castlevania games were rubbish and realised you dont know what you are talking about 😂
I went through a bit of a castlevania phase a couple of months ago after playing through SOTN on twitch, still can't stand the first 2 though

Top Racer should have been higher in this list! :)
If you're gonna play a Top Racer on the Evercade it's gotta be the 2nd one!
the last game reminds me of lufia
It's just a generic 16 bit jrpg pretty much
@@thegamesapprentice Tactical games like Lufia, Final Fantasy Tactics, and Vandal Hearts would be awesome for Evercade.
Amazing amount of garbage. 👌🏿
