Damn seeing comments like this blows my mind. Who knew he would become arguably one of the best drivers of all time.
You’re an absolute time traveler
i really hope you put money on that prophecy you typed out 13 years ago
What? As a woke twat who should shut his mouth.

After his heroics at Silverstone today, he should come back and drive the Reasonably Priced Car with three wheels.

But after Silverstone this year they should ask someone else what it is like to crash.
And after the bullshit he pulled in 2021, he won't even be invited

Jeremy is genuinely shocked by Lewis's lap time and so he should be, it is bloody fast for the conditions in which he done the lap. I also love the way Lewis is so casual/innocent about it. Does anyone know how old lewis actually is? He is only 23 years old. Unbelievable!!

I am not saying I "knew" anything about him, but I damn sure was rooting for him to become the amazing driver he was based quite a bit on how cool he was in this interview (and on track) years ago. Bravo, Lewis!!

Loved your interview on the Senna segment for Top Gear. I'm 38 and just learned how to drive. And though I don't aspire to be F1 status anytime soon, that segment was inspiring and mark my words, I will become fast. Good luck to you, sir. I can see your parents raised a good man.
It's been 9 years.. you fast yet?
4:53 little did Jeremy know that it would come in handy in a couple of years time..
Rubens did the fastest lap 1:44.3 in the dry so I can't believe Lewis did a 1:44.7 in wet/oily conditions. I compared them frame by frame and Lewis is fast and tidy, different, sometimes tighter lines. Amazing. I dunno how he does it. Did they ever get Vettel in this show? Button is somewhat more cautious, when he came to Manila, he lost an exhibition karting race to one of the local champions
Yes, Vettel was there later on, and did 1:44:0, faster than both Rubens Barrichello and the Stig. When Hamilton returned in series 19, he did a 1:42:9 in dry conditions.
@@SprengePotetgullbrodie finally got his answer 12 years later😭
Its nice to prove that Lewis is actually a genuine guy. Makes me smile every time.
5:42 oh how it's come full circle 😂
Excellent. There is no vid of his lap on dry track no ? I didn't find it. I love Lewis Hamilton and his lap is awesome, singing, drifting, and at the end, cutting the corners and doing some 4x4
Look how relaxed and natural-seeming he was in that Liana. It's that kind of ease at getting into the zone that must give him that edge.
From a Tifosi to the new champ, hats off to you and may you put up the same nail-biting fight against the boys in red next season.
Cheers.
Now he's a 7 world time champion
'ladies and gentlemen, LEWIS HAMILTON!!!' ..... that on its own got my thumbs up lol

Never thought I'd might say this as a Fernando Alonso fan, but I miss the Mclaren Lewis Hamilton / the old Lewis.
8:57 Everybody asked the same question after 2020 Turkish Grand Prix. How did he do that?
back when he is just young promising driver with a humble background. if he stays at mclaren i think he would have better attitude than now
He's pretty humble nowadays, compared to Rosberg for example.
McLaren gave up on him???? They gave Button control over the direction of the car and look at McLaren now there shit.
+jnd99 rosberg is just an under pressure robot. Hamilton act more like he is a Grammy winning rapper.
You are classless and your accusations are baseless. You just don't like Lewis and calling him a rapper? He sings and plays the piano how does that make him a rapper?
Hater
+AyrtonHamilton2785 yeah i'm hamilton hater. No doubt about his driving skills he is great. But he never drive bad car in his entire career. He is good driver but he didn't act like an F1 driver. Show his picture to someone who don't follow f1 they will think he is a rapper thanks to his gold necklace
This man has no competition. He's a natural.

+Marcy Marc Matt was also driving an astra, this Suzuki is NOWHERE near as fast as the astra was.
Daniel Ricciardo - 1:42.2

What a cool, relaxed guy. Seems really nice.
He is THE most dominant driver in the world, probably ever.
+Theo 80126 Most dominant driver ever? 1. it´s all down to the Merc and 2. when he dominates with Mercedes for 5 years straight then we can talk about calling him the most dominant driver ever.
Who now, in your opinion, is a better driver? I recall two years ago him starting in pit lane and finishing an extremely close 2nd.
And the year after on the same track he driving like he had been drinking last night. One race does not prove anything. Otherwise Vettel´s 2008 Italian grand prix where he won in STR pretty much says it all.
Theo 80126 jim Clark ?
So weird seeing him without a Mercedes logo in sight.
i think this is why lando laughing when dany ric askes him the same question 5:45
Hamilton drew on points with Alonso in 2007, despite Alonso being unhappy with everything that season.
Alonso is still the fastest man in the field, and certainly the most mature and consistant driver. He'll surely win a few more championships before he's done.

Martin Rychtera huh?
i got like from James Bond :) thats cool! and this means that it is true!
jam63112 Hamilton doesn't have time to be the stig
Actually, in 2008, the STR outperformed the RBR for the most part. The STR3-which replaced the STR2B at Monaco (the sixth race)-driven at Monza was a Newey design. Plus, in Monza, the Toro Rosso's were particularly quick for some reason (Bourdais qualifying on the second row). I'm not taking anything away from Vettel because he is a fantastic driver, but nowadays and even in the past, a significant factor for winning in F1 has been down to the car performance in addition to driver skill.
i didnt define that we should subtract 4s because of wet and oily, its defined by topgear. the stig said that if the track is wet and oily youre slower by 4s. coincidentally, the stig said its the same 4s with snow.
I laughed my ass off at Clarkson's reaction when Lewis says the car is good! Lmao!
You can see it in his eyes that he isn't satisfied as he isn't on top....😊.... What are racer! 👏🏼👌🏼

On a track he's driven in a million times he better be fastest
1:44.4 on a dry Top Gear Test track is pretty meh...
Damn, so The Stig is a former or current super famous F1 driver?
Maybe The Stig is Lewis Hamilton? lol
I believe it was Schumacher for some time ( nope: the show jokingly unmasked the Stig as seven-time world champion F1 driver Michael Schumacher.) It was Ben Collins from 2003 til 2010.
amazing interview
It all depends on cutting corners relative to everyone else. Everyone cuts follow through, and the last two corners, so no one gains more of an advantage than any one else. I haven't seen any other f1 driver cut hammerhead, so he gained more of an advantage compared to everyone who didn't. And for a car that accelerates so slowly, cutting corners makes a huge difference, much more than 0.5s.
Living Legend
A true champion. Makes it look so easy. One of the greatest Brits alive today.
