We didn't think to just climb through to cross the bridge; we took the road instead, very busy. I passed this on my birthday, very disappointed with the cafe. Thanks for watching our vids and giving us a shout out. Love the picnic bench by the river, just lovely and nice to revisit it on your video.
Super video showing the trail and your personality. I love this film, well done, great filming. It was interesting to hear that you trained with wet feet before coming to Scotland. That's dedication. Thanks for the shout outs that made me smile. How on earth do you do all the hiking and then produce a quality video with music and captions. Incredible . I look forward the next episode.
CWT was so stressful to me that time cause in the US, I am used to hiking an actual trail...never trackless. I will be back in 2 weeks for the SNT which includes the Cape Wrath Trail. I'm more confident now. Enjoy the videos. I'm so happy you're watching. 😃
@Betsy Russell thanks Betsy. I'm struggling but I'm loving the adventure! :) Texas was gonna do some Cape Wrath after she finished West Highland Way....but I told her NO, DONT DO IT!!! I think she went on the Great Glen Way...im not sure
Good luck hiker sheep this will be a totally different beast from the WHW. Looking forward to following your adventure, have fun & keep safe ⛰️👣🏴🥾🏴👣⛰️
Great video. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed Tubbas videos too and I'm sure I'll enjoy watching you on the trail. But hey....you are so naughty !! But I'm glad because I have been wondering if they are EVER going to repair and reopen that bridge into Glenfinnan. Now I know. Worth being naughty if it avoids the long road walk. Looking forward to part 2.
So sorry to miss you and the B&B. What a view. If you hike as slow as I do you’ll be by yourself the whole trail. 😂 Have fun and I’ll catch up with you back in the states.
Great to see CWT hikes from this year. I start on Aug 14. Super impressed with your fitness. Seems your fitbit is off on the mileage for sure. On the Rd from the ferry to the turnoff it's 6.5miles.
Brings back memories. That path as you leave Cona Glen, a path disguised as a stream. It is a nice gentle walk before the trail litterly hits you in the face. Bit deceptive, really. Now for part 2.
Cape Wrath is a bucket list one for me in the UK! I saw you did Coast to Coast. That's my plan for a vacation hike in 2025 with this year being the WHW. Then, work up to Cape Wrath I think! In the limited research I've already done, the scary part is how rugged and "free" the trail is which means it's easy to get lost as well as injured. But that's the challenge right?!
That's a good plan. CWT was scary to me when I was there bc I wasn't used to not having a trail to follow like in the US. I also wanted to not use GPS if possible, only relying on map and compass. But I ended up using GPS on day 3 when I got lost 2 miles off the trail, day 11 during bad weather, and the last day .. day 14 cause I just wanted to reach Cape Wrath easiest way possible
That's a good innings for the first day ... well done ... the next few days will be somewhat 'more interesting'. Good on you for navigating using a map, a skill many are losing
As a Brit living in the USA, you are my fave American hiker on UK soil! And if you do WHW off season, do let me know! It is on my list but also want to do it when it is not crowded!! Hardly saw anyone when I hiked the Great Glen last year!
Cape Wrath Day 1 - Well this is a bit odd? The video is marked "hidden" but I found it. I was anxious to know how it's going. You're walking through areas with not so many people around so falling off bridges is fun but not recommended. Do take care with that sort of thing as help maybe some hours away. Very good editing as usual. Wishing for dry weather. Pete
Can't wait to see how you progress with the Cape trail... looking good so far 👍👍 Btw did you see any snakes in Cona glen? A few walkers have mentioned seeing adders there
Yes I did see a brown baby Adder slithering away so fast. I couldnt be fast enough to video. I am struggling on this trail...you will see on upcoming videos...im still working on them

Just subscribed. I'm watching all the episodes as I'm thinking of doing the CWT myself. Good job 👍👏

@@hikersheep Hang in there!!
Hi Sheep, Looks like the trails across the pond are "easy trail Bobo" compared to the New Hampshire White mountains.
Hah!! Just wait for day 2 and so on. I've never been on a trail where I fall 10 times a day everyday
