I own one... Love it..... As I've said to my brother it's not a 400 bhp BMW but its a Mini packed with character and drives so well !!! Fabulous fun on Country lanes (fast) and the boot holds so much more than you think ! Just get the speck you need as extras cost more if you need them later.... it Starbucks Cup holders (mine has x4)... leather heated seats, power mirrors, deep boot or a parcel sheet is an extra £400/£500 pounds.... and as a mini its larger than you think.... cheap the spec..... power mirrors are an extra But its a fabulous City Centre Car too
id have to totaly disagree about the seat maybe you have a negative bias for some reason on minis but they are firm (obviously its bucket sport seats) but they hold very very well, even way too well for my GF because she hates how much it holds her. so for people who read comments, the seats are indeed firm but VERY supportive. Also maybe you have unfamiliarities with sports car but they are way more responsive (usualy upgraded break and high throttle response) which will feel like "jerks" like you say but its totaly "normal" and part of the fun for sport car amateurs, same goes for the suspension, sport cars will have a more firm ride which might not be confort oriented like you wish. One car on the same platform which is more "confort" oriented and might be more to your liking is the BMW X1/X2, it will have the same power but with less "sportyness", not "jerking", confortable suspension and confortable seats. all in all I belive you prefer non sport cars and there isnt a problem with this but to anyone watching the video: if you want a proper sport car the countryman JCW is very good, if you want something more confortable but similar, BMW X1/X2 will be better suited. The video was a bit cringe, you cannot bash SO much a sport car for "being too sporty" Felt like watching my 80 yo grandma commenting the ride in a sport car ahah, you should stick to Daily driver/luxury cars demos/reviews
I thought i was the only one who noticed his bias, I drove a mini cooper s for years and moved to other "non-sports" cars and I can confirm that the mini had arguably the best spotty feel. My brother recently bought a Clubman. I find it very comfortable, I owned a 420i and I wouldn't really say the 4 series had much better comfort. Yes, Minis have a firm ride but that's how sports cars are as you correctly indicated. Sports car are not usually comfortable "soft" cars.
@John Carter My car has been made in 2019 but I purchased in 2020 March. When did you purchase? Are u from the US? Maybe European makes are different but all the S's have a sport mode switch as far as I know.
@John Carter Strange. I bought mine in Hungary so they're from the same Dutch factory. I read a lot of reviews on the new 2020 version but none of them mentioned the lack of drive mode switch in S's.
those seats are just like the sport seats on the x1... I had it for a year and a half and the seats were absolutely horrible, and the back of anybody driving it would start hurting after only 30 min. Whoever design them should be sent to the electrical chair for designing something like that with the goal of sending people to a wheel chair
@@MichaelScotttttt i like them but they didn’t have power controls and i prefer the MiniYours leather ones. a bit more comfy on longer trips and power controls and nice leather too :) to each his/her own
@@bartbart6545 this is unclear to me, I guess it depends on the reviewer, if he is good, environment is good, changed tires, altitude, ect ect.. I also saw lot of under 4.5 and some like this over 5. lot of things can affect the time. you should be able to easily get under 5 sec
wonderful car! may be not the fastest you can get for the price or the mos practical... but the fact that is just in the middle; giving you just what you need of everything, to be able to go fast and safe on highway, funky and cool on city, to be ease to park, and havin that AWD that of course isn't an offroad vehicle, but let's you go to that mountain cabin with sloping an muddy paths... pff is so delicious to may be be choosen as "my only car" on an affordable price for working class people like me. Thanks for the review! and hope to have those wheels on my hands soon.

The electronically adjustable suspension is an OPTION so is big infotainment screen or head up display and powered boot ,those are not standard on Mini Countryman JCW ! The Mini Countryman JCW does not emit a fake sound ! It’s the valve that’s opens in the left exhaust pipe when engaging the sport mode YOU DOMBO🙈🙈🙈
In the UK, the suspension is a free option that you have to select, it defaults to jcw sports otherwise. HUD is not standard and part of the nav + pack. The exhaust is fake sadly, as not allowed it anymore 🙄
I did. The Cooper S version (192hp), with manual but with a lot of extras cost me €30.000 new because of the pandemic. If you compare this price to others I think it's almost a bargain. Oh and I love this car, best decision ever. Waaay better than a Audi Q3 or a BMW X2.
I build these normal countryman cars, also as the mini one cabrio and the BMW X1 at nedcar. But believe me if I say that these are build like trash. I wouldn't buy 1.
@@vxjtx2632 Yeah u got it. I Just worked there mate, I didn't design these cars or what so.... And they checked on quality, and if you make a few mistakes you will get warned or fired, so I build them as best as I could with the available tools + recourses

Yes it changes on the outside too. The valve in the left exhaust opens/closes depending on the mode.

I have this car with a smaller (192hp) engine and with manual. I LOVE IT!!! I turned off the fake sound though.

@John Carter It does. Especially when you go on sport mode. If you turn on the eco mode it disables the fake noise and you can hear the difference.
