And this is why I love your channel! You are not bashing this one, you give your opinion and tell it‘s flaws like they are. You do not compare it to other cars whom are not front wheel only ;) great job!
This channel makes you a part of the experience instead of copying populair opinion on certain cars. Imperfect this GP may be, it sure looks like a lot of fun!
By experience, my point of view is that If you have an engine that doesn’t like to rev out, automatic gearbox will over-rev the engine as soon as you floor it, and you’ll NOT get the best power the engine can deliver. Whereas with à manual you can better take advantage of the operating range of the engine . But that mini is really desirable ! Look like a great little car :)
@MAGUS Which one do you mean? In Europe, most Corolla, CHR and Rav4 are sold with hybrid. Which is a no-brainer! Only sports cars like the Yaris GR are logical with an turbo. For example the 1.2l Turbo Chr... has not the boost of the 2.0l hybrid and worse consumption. Also the hybrids are bulletproof... less to worry because it lacks so much (and no turbo)
@MAGUS You are correct. But I think, that the Yaris will lead the race. Imagine the same weight and size as the Yaris. It will be more practical for sure but it will not have the same racing DNA. AND It will be out 2022. I stick to the Yaris as a fun car and my Corolla GR hybrid waggon as utility.
For me the best rewiew of this very special car, you have completly understand the "too much" character of this Mini. it s not easy to drive fast but finally not dangerous, just keep both hand on the steering wheel.
This jcw gp vs the bmw m135i 0-250 test please ? I heard only 3k mini cooper jcw gp units will be made so I think they will be a collecters item in the mini cooper brand/range.
This car its the ultimate urban hoon machine that also it's easy to park. Overpriced but if well kept they sell for good money if you can prove it runs decent.
I had a JCW for 5 yrs. Very playful and fun to drive cars. It seems like 300 hp is too much to handle for this car though. GR Yaris will be a game changer in this category.
I understand that there are 3,000 units made worldwide for this car and there are about 74 units that are reserved for the Australian market. To the car enthusiasts from Holland, I would like to know how many units are allocated for the Netherlands?
However, Mini says the ZF-produced eight-speed unit, with its unique, centre console-mounted gear selector and steering wheel-mounted shift paddles, is key to providing the GP with the sort of performance to challenge rivals such as the Renault Mégane RS 300 Trophy and Honda Civic Type R - even though it retains the same individual gear ratios and 2.96:1 final drive ratio as the JCW. - AUTOCAR
If you want a mini the same performance but dont want to spend 30k you can buy an F56 Cooper S for 9K + a stage 1 remap [£500] and you have the same BHP [300]
@@beatoldfield A normal Cooper S is already behaving like a wild tiger at high speeds. I feel like this one due to the rear wing actually stays pretty steady considering the short wheel base.
I think not. The depreciation on a normal JCW will maybe be higher. Next to that, the tuning will depreciate by 100%. AND you will not reach the level of a GP in terms of performance and handling
Torque STEEEEEERRRR... my run of the mill Cooper S has noticeable torque steer... I can only imagine how bad it will be on this model. I do like my Mini though... the overall package is quite nice for hot hatch fans (I switched from the Impreza platform because it's getting too big... I like small nimble cars).
Having such a ridiculously bad automatic gearbox on this car is a very big mistake to me... That's why I ordered the 2021 Mégane RS Trophy 300 EDC instead of the Mini GP3 I was looking at a few months ago.

you have to start filming flybys on autbobahn

True dat
That would be dangerous to stand on a freeway just placing down a camera... _somewhat_
@@LennySharer9 can be on a bridge or a slower driving car on the slow lane between the trucks
I can feel the torque steer through the screen

Looks really good in real life.
I saw one yesterday (nr. 2251) and it really does look purposeful.
i really don't know why but i'm freaking loving this car
This digital dash can be installed on other F-series MINI, too - regurar 3d JCW, Countryman, Clubman, etc.
As an owner of JCW i can say
that the suspension is not for Eastern Europe and Russian roads .. but the car is so funnydrive! )
167 mph in a mini hot dang.. i got my r56s up to 130mph and felt like it was gonna explode.
Try 110 in a 2007 cooper D XD
i got 154 out of my r58 👌🏻
Mine goes 130mph on 4th gear

You need to get you hands on the new released Yaris GR! It will rule the hot hatchback segment!

I’d actually prefer the mini

@MAGUS Wait for the Corolla 😅

Gp3?

Yes!!
We should have sections on our highways here in the USA without speed limits. Would be a great place to just vent the stress and flor it.
Who ever promises to remove speed limit on highways , I’ll definitely vote for him/her lol

I think the production for the GP already ended, but if you can get your hands on one, why not :)
The gp3 is a lot faster than an M135i F40. 100/200 km/h is as fast as an old M140i. Very impressive!

270kph...... In a mini........ Road legal.😂
curvy road, winding, fun. gearbox
work, excellent video
Really wish BMW would just mold the wide panels onto the body, than having them sticking out like cardboards being taped on.
over 300 HP and 450 NM in a Mini ! WOW
Nothing Special, we all drive cooper s with that power and nm.
@@jankohler2134 that was the joke.
Okk
I have a gp2, absolutely love it.!!
I love this lil thing 😍
I love max and I love videos from him
Great, fast Mini! Thank you for sharing this with us. 👍😁
Fun is the important thing. What else if you don't enjoy your driving!
i dont know why i am tensing so much when this teat was 2 years ago! crazy!
Great review, one of the best I’ve seen about this car
What a machine 🚀🚀🚀🚀🚀
I will get my next Saturday, number 1250. first time not a Audi, I am really excited, 🥰
awesome car and review
are these The hankook ventus z tires? 2:23
Mini is the best😍
the most fun car ever
It looks amazing, looks great fun as well but for the price you can get a two year old Rs3 which sounds and looks incredible
Sure, but the GP is timeless

Your wrong
I highly disagree with that
Incredible car but too fragile…
Mini's are fun cars, is there a Manuel version of this Car ? I prefer Manuel's for low riding and fast cars.
I thought they were bare fiber glass panels not carbon fiber? I've driven this with cold summer tires, plenty torque steer.
I was very nicely surprised by this car
I understand that there are 3,000 units made worldwide for this car and there are about 74 units that are reserved for the Australian market. To the car enthusiasts from Holland, I would like to know how many units are allocated for the Netherlands?
Looks like the wide body pieces will collect debris and like was an after thought. Other than that it’s a wicked car
Cool car for young hatchback lovers
Excellent car
if it's made for fun, then it should come with a manual really
Can u not use the paddles instead of relying on full auto ??? Gear box will feel much better
Now imagine this GP with a ZF or DSG.
But i guess it would make the car more expensive?
It already has ZF...

Yea but it also have the same amount of horsepower as in my 2 ton 2020 300de hybrid lol think mine has like 306 hp
Really 330hp and 510Nm, very fast on track, one of the best FWD sport car , it s always a battle to drive fast, not easy, but very fun.
Where is Max?
Taking over again soon

I would go for the lci, with the 7 Speed DKG. A German Tuner tuned this to 280 HP and 400 NM and made also a high 10 sek from 100-200

and your engine is dead at 80k miles
@@IziiGAMeify bullshit hahaha 😂 the lock at the GP3 or the new Supra (4cylinder) all the same Engine and can easily do 400 hp
