Great logical take on the situation. Idk why CGC doesn’t offer prepaid insured return shipping labels. Sketchy cards and sketchy company. Unless you get the pristine label, you are devaluing your card by having CGC grade them.
The information is not in the paper, but in the printing itself. Modern printers usually leave very subtle information with information about the printer and the print.
The fact that printers have imbue hidden watermarks on the pages that can tell the printer’s serial number and the date its pages were printed is the most insane thing for me
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.🤣 Probably these people should enjoy the "cardgame" part of collectable card game instead of fist fighting people at costco for a 27% profit margin.
The fact that theyre asking people to reach out on Whatsapp, is WILD. People are going to get scammed by on Whatsapp, someone's gonna get hurt and lose a lot of money, and CGC's brand is gonna get roasted even more so.
CGC is part of a larger grading company that includes coins. The coin version is called NGC, and has been around a long time. In the coin world it seems to me that PCGS is the prime grading service, while NGC is considered 2nd, and many hard core coin collectors prefer PCGS. Kinda similar to cards, how PSA is the preferred for cards.
Vaporself is sketchy, he was the first pokemon card channel i started watching for investing… kinda weird that he uploads multiple times a day and even mislead people on investments a few times so i stay away from him.
Piteful work from CGC. People forget the main thing grading companies are supposed to do is authenticate collectables first. From what I know Beckett will grade an altered card and let you know which is ridiculous but only PSA will outright refuse to grade fake cards.
We need to stop going after these things that just belong in a Pokémon museum if anything. They don't need to be sold through collectors, "It's a piece of Pokémon history" - right and leave it there, I knew this was a huge mistake when CGC announced that they were authenticating these. With the printer and the hidden information - The printer used prints very small dots that can be decoded ( also known as metadata ) to determine the print date of whatever your printing...It is unknown if you can decode other useful metadata like what version printer, what timezone etc...all these things could be used to track the fraudster. Hoping it does have a ton of metadata to track down the person who printed these off....but also CGC is just ./sigh at this point.
Call me a conspiracy theorist but they might have been in the know thinking nobody's going to find out. If not then major incompetence which is a bad look either way.
Hey, do you think printer meta data will be used to add additional value to modern cards? As an example, couldn't it be used to establish the first print runs and subsequent reprint runs of modern sets. At its limit, it could be akin to a first edition stamp? What do you think?
From my understanding this meta data isn’t used on large industrial printers. So I think it’s unlikely the Pokémon company would buy new printers to imprint this data on cards.
What about the Beckett black label? That's the same thing as cgc pristines. Beckett has also had legal issues with CEO committing fraud and etc. PSA is still the goat
CGC slabs are just gambles I take to crack the slab and grade PSA. CGC 8 to PSA 10 is just 💪. Just takes skill not to crack the slab the wrong way and cut your card in half.
You take these claims seriously…do they want them back to destroy them so no evidence for a lawsuit? Even just collecting them all takes any evidence against them away, don’t think anyone in their right mind would mail them back to them. It’s like nah, I’m gonna call a lawyer
So Jake, why you calling out small Pokemon youtubers on their comment saying? Then deleting it cause you know it was obviously wrong? Shake my head, stop being a man child.
It's really insane how they were able to trick so many people I will say I've never trusted/ owned any CGC graded cards but it makes you wonder what else slips through grading cracks!
CGC will win their customers back by offering $5 per card for grading
They’re offering full refunds
@@Chris-vz2kv full refunds for tge cost of grading right? Like 100 bucks a person 😂
lol they’re a joke yet ppl still grade with them
My bad yall I was hitting the pen at work that day & I didn't notice 🤦🏿♂️
CGC - Can't Grade Correctly or Can't Grade Cards
😂😂😂 😭 😭 😭
Great logical take on the situation. Idk why CGC doesn’t offer prepaid insured return shipping labels. Sketchy cards and sketchy company. Unless you get the pristine label, you are devaluing your card by having CGC grade them.
Crazy situation. I was never really in the market for CGC graded cards to begin with but I definitely won’t be now.
The information is not in the paper, but in the printing itself. Modern printers usually leave very subtle information with information about the printer and the print.
I know what you mean, I'm just talking off the cuffs. Obviously the ink is on the paper
yeah was bout to post this comment too. just the metadata from the printer
The fact that printers have imbue hidden watermarks on the pages that can tell the printer’s serial number and the date its pages were printed is the most insane thing for me
Won’t be using their services. Or buying CGC Graded Cards.
Took you long enough.
Who tf is dumb enough to buy anything but psa
@@Chris-vz2kv these things happen as part of the attack to CGC and all other non PSA companies, to keep the myth of reputation alive.
@Chris-vz2kv sgc is very good too that's why psa's parent company purchased them and said no thanks to cgc and beckett
Vaporself responded bro
I wouldn’t send my card to them until they announce what compensation they are offering.
Time to buy CGC cards..
They do their job grading and checking for fakes but this was a whole conspiracy 😆
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.🤣 Probably these people should enjoy the "cardgame" part of collectable card game instead of fist fighting people at costco for a 27% profit margin.

CGC = Counterfeit Grading Company

wow dude your so "wholesome" going after a youtuber who sold some product... change ur bio ur not wholesome whatsoever.
Ppl already had a hard time picking them over psa. This just hurts their brand even more.
Trust is the most important for a grading company once that’s gone no one is gonna what to buy a slab with their label on it

Will never be doing business with CGC before or after this shenanigans
They missed a lot of cert numbers from a lot of the batches. There are definitely more slabs.
Call me a conspiracy theorist but they might have been in the know thinking nobody's going to find out. If not then major incompetence which is a bad look either way.

I don't think industrial printers carry these meta data. These play test cards were printed on personal printers.
lol
is there anything we can do as a buyer to make sure the cards we buy are authentic
Hey Jake, what do you think about TAG grading?
TAG now canonically part of the big 3?
@dabumkind4477 I hope they grow big enough to be up there with the big 3. TAG objectively provides a better service than them
I only use CGC for my personal collection because I really like how their slabs look, for reselling I’ll use PSA or Beckett
CGC lost me when they started this "pristine" grade and now this? lol ill forever grade with PSA and Beckett
What about the Beckett black label? That's the same thing as cgc pristines. Beckett has also had legal issues with CEO committing fraud and etc. PSA is still the goat
Hilarious to mention Beckett dude. Give me a break.

People always getting scammed during a pokemon bullrun... They never learn!.
Aren't you the guy who called out vapor and he's waiting for a response....😂
CGC not looking too good between this and the personally cut cards.
PSA or beckett for grading they been in the grading longer and trusted
.... 1562 of these... oh my god.
Wait what happened?
Cgc is over
Are you beefing with vaporself?
So Jake, why you calling out small Pokemon youtubers on their comment saying? Then deleting it cause you know it was obviously wrong?
Shake my head, stop being a man child.
TAG TIME TO RISE
Unfortunately, some of the same people behind CGC are behind the scenes at TAG as well. TAG will fail in due time 100%.
I have one of those cards 😭
Lmao that's why you never buy CGC cards
You acting like you are 50+ years old and like PSA doesn’t flop all the time 😭🤣…..seen many companies die 😭🤣
It's really insane how they were able to trick so many people I will say I've never trusted/ owned any CGC graded cards but it makes you wonder what else slips through grading cracks!
Just stick with psa and beckett
CGC is a mess.
CGC is finished.
Vaporself just destroyed you nerd 😂
CGC is done. lol
Vapor is not happy with you 🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️
Jake's been on fire with the content in 2025!
First 👁️👄👁️👍
