LOL great advice on the comments my friend! So glad you love your new Black Beauty. I test drove the black and loved it. I wanted the blue because it's a great Florida color. Enjoy it and thanks so much for the kind words!
Thanks Karnalsyn!! Comments can rattle you sometimes, gotta have a thick skin like a Blue Iguana lol. Looking forward to seeing you in your new ride. Let me know when you get it! Cheers
Just picked up the 2023 Night Edition in Hampton Grey two days ago. Turbo, lots of features. Looks amazing in that package. I tried an SEL first, but the power of the turbo makes a major difference. Just over 300 miles so far. I really like it. I have a 2021 Ridgeline as well. I love them both. I would tell anyone interested that you can't go wrong with either of them. The Ridgeline is my business vehicle and my new Santa Cruz is my personal vehicle. They are both nearly perfect.
Wow so happy for you Daryl congrats! I just got another recall notice this time the trailer electrical wiring. Shouldn't be a big deal but hopefully the 23 model worked out any bugs. Enjoy it brother!
Happy Birthday 🎉 Blue Iguana 🦎 Glad it’s serving you well. Love that you can sit on the bed with a chair overlooking the water with the beautiful palm trees and you can put your beer on ice in the storage compartment. The storage has certainly benefited you well. Love the color and the grill looks sharp! And nothing is perfect and everything has its flaws! The main thing it’s a safe vehicle to drive. Wishing you many more years of happiness. Onward and Upward!
@@BarefootVlogger I went with their new electric vehicle. I have always been interested in Hyundai because they give you great tech and safety features at a reasonable price. Yeah I’m sure I will be at 10,000 like you in no time! 😊
Just traded in my 2017 Sant Fe Sport for a 2024 Santa Cruz SEL with 2.5 non turboed set up. This is the third Hyundai I have owned and have never had a problem with any of them. If the turbo models had the reguler 8speed instead of the duel clutch I would have tried that, but they only offer the duel clutch set up for the turbo which I would never own. The non turbo engines have plenty of power for what I need and cruise on the high-way with no problems. The best I have gotten is 30 miles to the gallon running 70 mph so I don't complain about that. Love this machine.
Hey Jeff, so glad to hear that my friend, welcome to the Barefoot Army and Thanks for joining me!! I now have Blue Iguana T Shirts available in the merch store here: theletteringmachine.com/BarefootVlogger/shop/page/blue-iguana
Had to drive one, the local dealer had just one model to test drive, it was non turbo in the sea foam green. Very nice drive, smooth as ice, took it over railroad tracks and again smooth, quiet, comfortable rig. I would go turbo with a limited for the power, toneau and extra features. Probable have a hybrid model for 23 we'll see.
Sam definitely go for the Limited if you can, I really think its worth it. That seafoam green is a really cool color by the way and looks great on this vehicle. The other color choices are great also. I test drove the black, which I loved, but felt the lines in the body were a little muted. That ice white color surprised me how nice it looks in person on that truck. If they get a hybrid I might have to trade up lol. Good luck my friend and thanks!!
Well, well worth going for the limited. We started looking at the sel, then sel premium, suddenly realized the limited was (the one) . The extras make it so worth it. Plus we sold our previous vehicle for just under 25k so put down 27k to make it an easy purchase. I wasn’t even looking to buy a Hyundai. A week ago my in-laws had me go with them to a dealership to buy a vehicle(they bring me as i know every scamming dealership tactic) if they try to pull one. Sure enough, right away this salesman tried to pull a huge one even though i told him i was well versed in dealership tactics. So mad i told my in-laws we needed to walk out now and never go back. They ended up buying as the dealership somewhat reversed the attempted scam.(they should have left though) but anyways i see the vehicle my in-laws are buying. Hyundai Santa Cruz sel in white. I absolutely loved the look and feel with the test drive. Hah, ended up buying the limited Santa Cruz in blue stone 1 week later. It’s amazing to drive, cameras all around. Nearly every safety feature. The bed is small but suits our needs perfectly. Many looks already and conversations with those checking it out with only 1 day of ownership.
Also some tips about your electric bike rusting: A) always wipe it down after every session on the beach to remove the water on the metal components with a microfiber cloth. If there is sand on it you can always use one of those portable hand vacuums to remove the dirt and sand before you wipe it down so you aren’t scraping the bike with sediments. B) if the bed of your SC is wet you can put down a towel on it and then place your bike on top, or you could buy a bed mat, wipe it down before placing your bike on top. C) if it’s raining you can also place a towel on top of your bike to catch the water that leaks in the bed and even get creative and maybe carry some salt buckets in the bed (Polk hole on the lid of the bucket) so that it absorbs moisture and humidity. Your worst enemies for rust are salt, water, humidity, and moisture. You take care of those before you store your bike in you garage you will rarely have to worry about rust ever again.
Congratulations! Enjoy your new ride and best of luck. I hate to rain on anyone's parade but I hope you have better luck with yours than I'm having with mine. Stay tuned.
T, the more I see your truck the more I like it. The color is perfect and I like the grill. What’s most important is that you like it and enjoy driving it. Drive it in good health and be safe. 😎😎😎
I'm 18 and I just bought one for myself. I got a Sage Grey SEL without the activity package which i'm fine with. I absolutely love it and all the features it has.
I have a 2012 Hyundai Azera Limited. Bought it in 2016. It has 93K miles on it now. Hyundai has come a long way in the past 15 years. But i do understand the stigma that the namebrand has put into many ppls mind with their "cheap" past. But, I love this car. It has a pearlescent white exterior, tan interior with carbon fiber and brushed nickel and chrome accents, blue accent lighting everywhere inside it at night. 13 speaker infinity sound system. All the bells and whistles of a Mercedes but not their pricing. Great gas mileage. I'm 6'3" and it has tons of leg room and space to spare for another tall person sitting behind me. Massive panoramic sunroof. Rear heated seats and sundshades on all three rear windows. I've had had zero issues with it. I keep up on any maintenance it needs thay I can afford and I keep it clean and detailed. It still turns heads and my friends love riding in it. Super quite and smooth ride. Great long haul car. I could go on and on about it. I'm still in that honeymoon phase with it. I've heard nothing but good feedback about the Hyundai Santa Cruz! I have an associate that just bought this Hyundai truck and he adores it.
It's not the brakes that are rusting....it's the pad material that's on the discs that's rusting. Doesn't hurt anything, and usually only shows up after not driving for a few days in really humid/rainy weather
Havent ridden in one but has some of same features as a Honda Ridgeline which has a longer bed. My Ridgeline gets great mileage and is a comfortabletraveler.
Just wanted to comment on the height and size that you mentioned. For anyone that is a bigger person and is looking at one of these. I’m 6’3” and weight about 330 and I fit great in one of these. Took one for a test drive yesterday and absolutely loved it. Can’t wait to buy one of these bad boys!!
Vocal thanks for mentioning this!! I will be sure to let folks know what you said when they ask. I think you will love it as long as you are comfortable on long drives. Also...can you be my bodyguard? LOL Thank you my friend and enjoy your new ride!
wow I really can't believe it has been a year!! I am with you on the length and grill--love the design, works perfectly together. I live in salt air and never had that problem with brakes in a cheaper vehicle, I would be a little upset too, this is not a cheap truck especially after you add in all the things as add-ons that really make it a workable vehicle/ Love the color too! If you live in a coastal area. can't imagine another color. Its just pure FUN!!
Amen to Norman’s comment below! Btw the Blue Iguana is a nice looking vehicle. We bought over a year our beautiful VW Tiguan. Her nickname is the Silver Spirit!! We love it!! Btw for our Saturday evening viewing pleasure Gina and I watch the Army channel on the weekends instead of regular TV! Nothing better to be real!! 😊🍺☀️🌴
Michael and Gina thanks so much for helping the Barefoot ratings! LOL Silver Spirit is a great name for your Vdub. I love naming modes of transportation because they almost seem like they're alive and ever since Herbie the Lovebug I do it all the time 😂 Cheers guys!
I hope to run into you one day as my wife and I love your videos we are moving to the Boca / Pompano area in February.....and we own a Santa Cruz also.
Wow, Coxer that's great! Funny I see a few fellow SC owners in the area and we always honk at each other. Good luck with the move and looking forward to seeing you here!
I've really enjoyed your vlogs on the Blue Iguana. You, more than anyone or anything else, sold me on getting my own SC. Ironically, it was the front end that I fell in love with. But then I did a foolish thing, after I had already bought mine. I discovered the Santa Cruz Forums. What an f-ing nightmare! Trannies malfunctioning, engines shutting down, dash board warning lights all coming on together, piano black rubbing off on door arms . . . the list of major issues is endless. I'm planning a 2000+ mile trip to the Boundary Waters of Northern Minnesota, towing an ATV, and I'm paranoid now of taking it to my local grocery store! I think the old adage "ignorance is bliss" really is true in this case. I ended up with an Ice White Limited as it was the only vehicle available, and I do love it. And I do get compliments all the time - complete strangers, neighbor's who never talked to me in 10 years, people literally turning their heads as I drive by. I wish you continued good luck with yours, and am hoping I'll have the same. And I still think the State of Florida Dept of Tourism, or a TV news station should hire you as an ambassador for promoting Florida. Thanks for another enjoyable ride.
Truzak, love this comment my friend! Wow, I've only glanced at the forums and glad I didn't dig deeper. Hopefully what I don't know won't bother me lol. They always say stay away from the first edition of any new vehicle. I remember when that old "new" shaped corvette came out in '84 I think. Talk about having to work out the bugs...that thing was bug infested. Anyway, I couldn't help myself when I saw this thing I had to have it. Other than the minor nuisances so far so good but at least we have a pretty solid warranty that will hopefully cover any issues as they pop up. I saw the ice white at the dealer when I went to pick up the Blue Iguana and absolutely loved it. I wish you continued good luck with your white beauty and safe travels on your 2000 mile adventure. Stay in touch my friend!
been 6 months since we purchased our limited Santa cruz. The one disappointing, I mean really disappointing issue with the truck, are the seats. I have never sat in such an uncomfortable seat. We've taken road trips and anything over an hour just kills your rear; downright painful. I'm surprised no other people have commented on it. Pretty bummed about the seats, because that's really our only gripe.
I just ordered one, waiting a week now. Mine should be here any day now to SoCal. I got the White, Limited model. I would not have minded the lower non turbo models, but.... The cloth seats felt like a burlap bag... or 100 grit sand paper... Come on Hyundai, you can do better than that. Also the cloth seats are ridiculously firm... It felt like you were sitting on a log. I weigh 200 labs and I doubt if I sank 1/4" into the seat. If I could of had non turbo SEL with softer seats... Id do that, but nooooooo... I have to spend $40,000 plus, just to get a seat that I was OK with. Send problem is the color selection... I guess everyone at Hyundai is color blind...? These are the color options... Black, White, Gray, Sand/tan, muddy blue, or muddy green. THATS IT.... They look like... that guy in college that washed all his color clothes with his white clothes, and after a few weeks, everything was varying shades of crappy gray. Mono-chromatic man. You wont win any attendance prizes with these colors. Very forgetable.
LOL well said cmscms. I do love it in the white you're getting. I saw one on the lot and the bright white pops and brings out the lines great. I happen to like the muddy blue lol because it really plays well here in the Miami area. Heck it works for the Dolphins lol. I will say I think getting the version you got is worth the extra money in the end. These days the average used car is going for mid 30's so it is what it is. Anyway, enjoy your new ride and congrats my friend!
I can't wait to get mine! The color selection that Hyundai provided is weak to me. Good thing wraps exist. The gripes that you mentioned are minor at best. I'm getting a Hampton Gray!
Hey Lava I agree with everything you've said. The blue really does fit well in South Florida though and probably makes it that much more appealing to me. Can't tell you how many compliments I get. Hampton Gray is nice, I saw one on the lot, good choice!
@@BarefootVlogger yeah I'm in the Panhandle and I haven't got many remarks yet. I'm pretty sure I will soon. I really like the gray, but it seems kind of boring. The colors that they offer overall are pretty boring to me IMHO. I just wish they had more vibrant colors like a yellow, metallic burnt orange, deep red, and definitely a darker blue like the antimatter that Ford has with the Bronco.
Hi Terry, I watched a side by side the Santa Cruz vs Ford Maverick. Santa Cruz was a little more expensive but all the better features makes your car a better deal. I drive a Nissan Rogue SUV and would consider Santa Cruz. Hyundai should sponsor you. Happy miles ahead.
I love that Rogue such a cool little SUV. I've had many Nissans in my day including the 1986 Silver Anniversary edition 300zx. Best car I ever had. Thanks Arnie!
lol great way to put it tj. You're right but funny thing is I wasn't sure about this blue at first now I'm like what was I thinking, it's perfect, especially for down here.
My biggest complaint is the auto braking feature. In the city if it sees a person across the street it aggressively slams on the brakes. No where near me. You can turn it off easy though. Totally agree with you. If I go a day without someone saying something about my truck I’m surprised
Wow Gau that's great you're enjoying your new ride! I take road trips or day trips down to Miami then it sits for a few days lol. Have fun!! theletteringmachine.com/BarefootVlogger/shop/page/blue-iguana
I am with you on the brakes I have a 06 Volvo XC70 in the midwest and my brakes and rotors look and stay looking new. I love the Santa Cruz! Just don't want a payment lol
I'm in Colorado, every vehicle with a dark interior is essentially a dust monster. The others have it, but the dark colors really show it. That's a non-issue for the most part.
Picked mine up monday. So far I love it. Took it out around my area to test it in a few situations. Heavy rain being one of them. It drives a bit different than my Sedan. Going to take some getting used to.
@@BarefootVlogger Blue like your Iguana Got a question for you. I turned on the power to the bed. But it didn't turn on the power plug-in in the cubby in the bed. So I went back over and started it up thinking that will get juice to it. But still nothing. How do I get the power to the plug in back there do u know? Only second day here so not really sure.
@@BarefootVlogger I didnt get the turbo... but let me tell you it still has a fair amount of gitty up. I think the poor sales guy was a little started when I gave it a lil to see what it would do. LOL Job hazard I guess.
So I dont have mine yet. I am having a tow hitch put on. They are waiting for a part to come in to hook up the wiring. I dont want to make two trips down there so I am just hanging out till they get er done.
Happy Birthday blue Iguana.. thanks for posting all your updates. Most of the dealers up here in pennsylvania only have black... eww.... and no tow hitches. and..... all in transit... they dont actually have them yet.
Hopefully these shortages and supply chain issues will come to an end soon MsSSnow, hang in there! It could work out good for you in getting a better deal. Let me know how it goes and good luck!
Enjoyed the video. Saw one in the wild today and the young lady behind the wheel gave it the gas, was surprised how quickly it took off. I’ve got a 17 Grand Cherokee 5.7 with an aftermarket exhaust. It’s no slouch. But keeping it out of the dealership has been expensive. I still love it, but there are other vehicles out there on my radar.
Thank you so much for making these videos! My SELs breaks started rusting too after 1 month and I thought I was going crazy but I was right. Those people who gave you flak for not knowing that breaks rust are ignorant and dumb. NEW breaks should not be rusting especially in the summer EVEN if it rains or you live near the beach. Only time you should see your breaks rust is in the winter and THATS IF you live in an area that gets heavy snow and IF you drive around in the snow everyday. I’ve had cars in snowy areas and never drove them because of the dangerous weather and always waited until after the snow melted and the roads were treated and barely caught any rust…and that was after one whole winter. I’ve seen cars rust after one session of snowy weather because they would just shred them in the snow…anyways. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK M8
I'm so glad you agree with me SCR! For what we pay for these vehicles there's no excuse for any rust anywhere. GM rustproofs the brakes on many of their vehicles. It's not hard. Thanks my friend!
A year already. Do you get water in the headlight area like one reviewer said is happening to him??? I just finally found one and test drove it. I absolutley loved it. I was totally surprised at the comfort and take off. I drive a 2010 Soul stick shift, so anything automatic is going to have a peppy take off. Lol.
Haven't had the water in the lens issue yet thankfully CO, but I'm aware of it as well. There's a few things they could've tightened up, one of the risks with getting a new release model, which they say never to do but I couldn't resist. LOL funny about your Soul...one of the quickest takeoffs I've ever experienced was in a Mini Cooper S model. That thing was so much fun to drive but just too small.
@@BarefootVlogger That's funny that we always hear that about first year vehicles but I'm glad I got the 1st year Soul, they have changed so much and so many issues. Still hope to get a first generation Cruz when everything settles down.
You have to wash/wipe down anything that's exposed to Saltwater or Salt Air on a daily basis. Now about the truck bed. You would be better off with an aftermarket bed cover. It let's you have at least another foot. Just so you know. The NA version performs much better off road and returns better gas mileage. The NA version is also a good 10K cheaper also
Got the black one and it is the same i am way north like Montreal Canada and there is not a lots of those truck on the road so it make it more wonderfull but a little hint as a mechanic if you plan to keep it put some paint in calliper and rear struck mount ;) sea salt help rust
Great points Bandit! I like the fact that the SC is uncommon. A lot of people on the road still trying to figure out what it is lol. I will have them paint the callipers good idea!
Thanks for this - I tend to agree with folks that don't like that chome look - for the record the other trims including the SEL premium right below yours just get black on the bottom so if it bothers you skip the limited trim
Cool Car/SUV/truck , i would like one but it's not available in Belgium. Nice color. I drive at the moment a 2009 Lancia Delta III (daily drive) and recently bought a 2007 Opel Tigra Twintop (convertible) as a fun car....both cars are very cheap.
Question: How did Hyundai address this 'security issue'? 1. Is the glove box 'lockable'? 2. I know the pick-up bed is lockable, but what good is that IF and WHEN I hand my key to a Valet?
Another great video my friend! Off topic question, this is a 20 minute video, there are all kinds of cuts and edits. How long does it take to edit everything for one of your 20 minute videos?
Thanks Andrew. That's a great question. Answer is it just depends really but I can work 10 hours or more on one video depending on what needs to be done, ie music, sifting through clips etc. It's all about telling the story.
Not yet but I'm hearing that's a common problem. A girl pulled up to me yesterday and told me she just got hers and her engine cuts off for no reason. Apparently that's been happening to some folks too.
Hi. I hate that console too. It gets filthy. Also, water spots on the glass and black trim is hard to maintain. Any suggestions? Recall? I didn't know. Great review. It's a show stopper, for sure. Everyday. All day. I have mojave sand color. In my area, it is one of a kind for a whole year.
Congrats on the mojave sand A! I deal with those water spots too. I stopped parking near sprinklers that's helped a little. Just try to keep up with it so it doesn't get worse. I use vinegar on the glass and it takes the spots out. Wipe windows with newspaper best way to clean them. Enjoy the ride and thanks for watching!
I went to look at one of these at the local Hyundai dealer (blue like yours), sat in it, but because it was inside the showroom (had just arrived), I didn't ask to drive it. I couldn't see how they could conveniently get it out. I'm attracted to the Santa Cruz, but I have qualms about it, and also can't decide between the blue and the green. I do love the grill design - I think the design of the nose is fabulous, and love the funkiness of the overall design. What worries me is that they took all buttons and knobs away from the infotainment panel, making you rely on a touch screen, and that technology degrades over time, I think. Also, I'm concerned that, even aside from finger smudges, smears and dust, you might not be able to see the screen depending on how light is hitting it, just like with your smartphone. Is that an issue? I also saw a criticism that the back window is small and not good for visibility. What do you think on that? Lastly, I just saw a video from a guy who was complaining that his new Santa Cruz got water in all the lights in the grill. Have you noticed a problem with that? Thank you!
All in all I love the truck, mostly because it's not like a truck and I'm not a truck guy. The display definitely gets dusty and smudgy but not enough to be a deal breaker in my book. Haven't had the water in the lights problem but I'm hearing about that and also tranny issues with shifting roughness. It's covered for 10 years so I'm not gonna worry. Good luck!
BAREFOOT, I love your Blue Iguana except your Santa Crus Iguana doesn't fall Ll of the Trees of Fort Lauderdale at 30 degrees. It has alot of Tesilense and toughness.
I've reached out to Hyundai several times in the past and got no answers Lila. They told me they would first have to order the part so they make you bring it in twice. Not cool.
@@BarefootVlogger I wouldn't be sitting back there either so the omission of the armrest is not a deal breaker for me. Ironically however, it would cost Hyundai about $2.00 more to include that feature in the build spec of the rear seat. Considering the limited trim level is a $40+k vehicle, it doesn't make much sense not to include it.
Barefoot vlogger. Great videos on SC experience. Would love to hear your comments on the turn ratio of Blue Iguana. ITh SC originated from the Tuscon and quite frankly that turn ratio sucks...give me 40 acres if you know what i mean. Would love to jear your experience. 🙏👊🙌 Much appreciated.
Hi Seth, sure brother! Turning radius is one of those things it can be subjective. I might think its tight and you could think it requires throwing into reverse on every turn. I personally think its great. One if my videos I actually show it and mention its pretty good. It might be the first review I did of it. Anyway Im very pleased with the truck overall nearly 2 years later. Thanks for watching!
I see what you mean. I will find the first video and check it out. Sweet car and sweet reviews. Send some of that Florida sunshine to Colorado when you get a chance!
The “recall “ that they wouldn’t replace is typical auto manufacturer bs. My ford fiesta st had the same bs. They call it a “tsb” or “technical service bulletin” Basically means they won’t replace unless it breaks. The Ford one was literally an issue with winter time ice buildups under the cowl/base of windshield could melt and drip into the dash, shorting out the entire dashboard, rendering a tow and a massive repair. I live 45 minutes from the nearest ford dealer, in the mountains in NY I was like “why can’t you just fix it now?” Nope The fix? A $35 piece of plastic that screws under the hood and guarantee water/ice diverted away… But they wouldn’t ever sell me the part unless it was broken 🧐😏
Have mine for a little over a month and only 1 complaint... you even crack the window when its raining or the vehicle gets wet water comes in. Its a fantastic vehicle and i know 100% I made the right choice. I got the non turbo version and think its got plenty of power and so far I am getting on average 32 miles to the gallon. (its my daily driver) Thanks for all the information!... My wife thinks its ugly however... she drives a mini cooper lol
Carl I know what you mean about the rain! 32mpg is great I'm probably 22-26 depending how I drive. Mini Cooper, lol cool. I actually test drove one with stick and it was amazing! Too small for me though! Enjoy your new ride brother and thanks!
I just drove a 2023 off the lot today and I absolutely love it. Best vehicle I’ve ever owned. It’s great.

The storage has certainly benefited you well. Love the color and the grill looks sharp! And nothing is perfect and everything has its flaws! The main thing it’s a safe vehicle to drive. Wishing you many more years of happiness. Onward and Upward!
Thanks Donna from me and Ol' Blue! LOL Can't wait to take her back down to the Keys and get that beer on ice again. Stay tuned!!
@@BarefootVlogger You are both welcome. Looking forward to that!
Just picked up my Santa Cruz Limited today. I will let you know what I think about it in a couple of weeks, so far, OMG, I love it. Great video..
Awesome Warrior!! Congrats!! Looking forward to seeing what you think. Have fun and enjoy your new ride!
Update on your Santa cruz
I love my Hyundai so far just reached 2300 miles today. It’s still a baby.
Wow, James I remember 2300 like it was yesterday. These trips to Miami are killing me lol
@@BarefootVlogger I went with their new electric vehicle. I have always been interested in Hyundai because they give you great tech and safety features at a reasonable price. Yeah I’m sure I will be at 10,000 like you in no time! 😊
@@BarefootVlogger yeah but I love everyone of your trips. Your my favorite RUclips Vlogger by a mile! 👍🏻
You made my day brother! Thanks so much for riding along with me
Just traded in my 2017 Sant Fe Sport for a 2024 Santa Cruz SEL with 2.5 non turboed set up.
I’m getting my 2024 on Tuesday. Thanks for your videos it really helped me a lot and I appreciate you so much for that!!God bless you brother
Congrats my friend and enjoy your new ride!
Thanks for your Blue Iguana videos. They helped convince me to buy my own Santa Cruz. Which I love! I've also become a fan of your other videos.
Hey Jeff, so glad to hear that my friend, welcome to the Barefoot Army and Thanks for joining me!! I now have Blue Iguana T Shirts available in the merch store here: theletteringmachine.com/BarefootVlogger/shop/page/blue-iguana
Been Watching your shows got me interested in the Santa Cruz went out and bought one just love it from a Hammer to this thanks
Thank you for sharing SBJ! Best of luck and have fun with it my friend!
Also some tips about your electric bike rusting:
A) always wipe it down after every session on the beach to remove the water on the metal components with a microfiber cloth.
Great points SCR, thanks so much for the info!
I just got home with my NIGHT edition in all black! I am absolutely in love with this truck
Thanks Cheryl! I hope you're feeling better!!
I found your channel/show by looking up reviews of The Santa Cruz. Ive had mine for a month now, I love it! Thanx. BTW....I call mine Clarice
Clarice was Rudolph's girlfriend's name! LOL Love it brother, thanks for sharing and enjoy her my friend!!
I'm 18 and I just bought one for myself. I got a Sage Grey SEL without the activity package which i'm fine with. I absolutely love it and all the features it has.
Awesome! That's a great color. Congrats and enjoy your new ride!
Just hit 1300 miles in mine had mine for about a month love mine!
You were correct about the blue looking clean, I ordered mine in the blue because of you
Bobby good move I'm so happy for you. Mines getting dirty because it still looks clean lol. Best of luck and enjoy your new ride!
My son is 6-8 270# and fits comfortably in it.
wow I really can't believe it has been a year!!
Haha Dev, I know! Been thinking of trimming it off with some orange decals for the Santa Cruz on the trunk. Talk about Miami LOL. Thanks my friend!
Lol VK has become prctically your own private island/key. Being happy and having fun is the way to go, glad the BI makes you happy!!!
Thanks Dev!
Thanks for the video .. We Love our Blue Santa Cruz too!
Great color that gets tons of stares Jill. So glad you're enjoying your Blue Iguana!
This truck looks like a life size Hot Wheels car. I mean that as a compliment.
You're right! Great analogy thanks DaBuff!
Happy birthday! Happy birthday! And many many more! Have a fantastic day! I love the color. JJ
Big thank you from the Blue Iguana JJ! LOL The color definitely fits down here that's for sure.
Be aware the door handles peel so keep an eye open and hop on that warranty. 18k miles 22 Santa Cruz SEL
Oh no! Haven't seen that yet but I will pay attention now, thanks brother
Good update
Also, its 100% true about the brake rust. My Elantra N lines brakes drip rust on the wheels over night. Its 1 yr old
I took a lot of heat over that observation but I don't care, no part of any new car should rust. Period. Thanks my friend!
Love your honesty, keep up the good work.
Thanks John!
It's design is like mid century modern you either love or hate it
lol great way to put it tj. You're right but funny thing is I wasn't sure about this blue at first now I'm like what was I thinking, it's perfect, especially for down here.
Awesome review! I really want to get a 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz 😁😁
I love that you named her/him The Blue Iguana. My girl is Bella Blu. 😜. 🎂🥳🎂🥳🎂 Happy Birthday! And thanks for giving these reviews.
Hehe. I’ve had a Santa Cruz for 3 months. Already put 11k miles on it !!
I totally agreed with all your comments and review.
I am with you on the brakes I have a 06 Volvo XC70 in the midwest and my brakes and rotors look and stay looking new. I love the Santa Cruz! Just don't want a payment lol
Wanna know what I like about it, you like it. I get mine in Baby Blue like you and get it in 2 weeks. Whahoo. And I am 66 female. Love it!
Aw that's so kind Sharen. I know you will love it! Thanks! By the way, any relation to George Armstrong?
@@BarefootVlogger Lol not me, but my husband yes. I am 1/4 Indian, funny how things work out.
I'm in Colorado, every vehicle with a dark interior is essentially a dust monster. The others have it, but the dark colors really show it. That's a non-issue for the most part.
Agree breaks don’t rust especially that fast
Picked mine up monday. So far I love it. Took it out around my area to test it in a few situations. Heavy rain being one of them. It drives a bit different than my Sedan. Going to take some getting used to.
Hey MsSSnow, welcome to the club!! Wait til you see how many stares you get lol. What color? Best of luck and congrats!
@@BarefootVlogger Blue like your Iguana
Got a question for you.
I had the same issue MsS, the engine has to be running, there's no direct power. Found that out the hard way lol.
I know! Turbo is just another thing that can go wrong anyway lol.
Rinse bike with fresh water after riding close to the beach and that will help with rusting. Also letting it air out a bit with help too!
Thanks for the tip! The bike's been great and mostly my fault for leaving it subjected to the elements of South Florida.
So I dont have mine yet. I am having a tow hitch put on. They are waiting for a part to come in to hook up the wiring. I dont want to make two trips down there so I am just hanging out till they get er done.
Thats a smart move and good thing to have. Wish I did that
Happy Birthday blue Iguana.. thanks for posting all your updates.
Congrats!! Shaggin Wagon looks great 😃 aka Blue Iguana ✊
Haha yes I remember that name! Thanks TBP!
Ps
They are not out yet for our trucks … but as soon as they are I’m getting new rotors and better pads ! Stay tuned !
Good video.
Anybody that looks at that bed cover and thinks it'll be waterproof is mostly blind.
Thanks Dale! It's got a lot of pep that's for sure especially the turbo model. Good luck in your search!
Happy Birthday! 🎉🎂🎈
Blue Iguana says Thanks James!!
Brakes.
You have a beautiful truck 🛻
I have a black sel premium and I love mine !
Thanks Fernando! I'll bet yours is a beauty too! Enjoy it brother!
You have to wash/wipe down anything that's exposed to Saltwater or Salt Air on a daily basis. Now about the truck bed. You would be better off with an aftermarket bed cover. It let's you have at least another foot. Just so you know. The NA version performs much better off road and returns better gas mileage.
The NA version is also a good 10K cheaper also
Good points Ronald thanks!
My favorite channel
You made my day 😎❤
Thanks for this - I tend to agree with folks that don't like that chome look - for the record the other trims including the SEL premium right below yours just get black on the bottom so if it bothers you skip the limited trim
Great point caflet thanks for sharing! I've noticed some folks blacked out their grills too and it looks amazing!
I love it but wished they had a blacked out version
check the intertubes...they're releasing a "night" version soon all blacked out
Love your truck - love your videos
Love your comments and support!
Guess what? I have a misses blue Iguana now.. I go to pick it up on wed.
Those are the best kind!! Congrats MsSSnow and enjoy her!! See you on the road
Thanks for the video!
one year old and still durable
Onward and Upward mickey!
Wow, alois those are great cars you have!! James Bond would love them lol. Thanks brother!
@@BarefootVlogger Yeah, Mister Bond wishes to use my cars but he would left them behind with some dents and a empty gastank. 🙂
Has anyone experienced condensation inside the daytime running lights? I am just wondering if this is an isolated incident.
❤️ The blue iguana!
Thanks IC!!
Question:
How did Hyundai address this 'security issue'?
1. Is the glove box 'lockable'?
2. I know the pick-up bed is lockable, but what good is that IF and WHEN I hand my key to a Valet?
“ I know there’s gotta be a bunch of horses in here somewhere “ 😂
The weird thing is that I bought one of these on my Birthday. Two days ago.
Happy Birthday and best of luck!
@@BarefootVlogger which programs do you use to edit everything?
Let me know if you have water in your headlights thank you
Not yet but I'm hearing that's a common problem. A girl pulled up to me yesterday and told me she just got hers and her engine cuts off for no reason. Apparently that's been happening to some folks too.
Great review. Did you had the issue of having water in the front lights?
Thanks! So far so good with the lights.
It looks beautiful nice truck
Thanks, I love it!
@@BarefootVlogger Thanks for being someone we can look up to as a true pioneer blazing a trail . You are appreciated.
2023 Phanton Black Limited on reserve- Giggity.
Nice CB! Way to go my friend!
Good luck!
BAREFOOT, I love your Blue Iguana except your Santa Crus Iguana doesn't fall
Ll of the Trees of Fort Lauderdale at 30 degrees. It has alot of Tesilense and toughness.
That's right Christina! Onward and Upward
My want's 1, I have a Gen 1 RIDGELINE , the first truck not truck. It's a MINI ridgeline...can you say copy
I think it is way COOL
A lot of the best ideas have already been thought of lol. Thanks Marc
Did you contact Hyundai USA and complain that the dealer didn't change out that part when it was recalled?
I've reached out to Hyundai several times in the past and got no answers Lila. They told me they would first have to order the part so they make you bring it in twice. Not cool.
Thank you for the update, is there a back seat fold down console? I haven't see any other videos that calls this out?
Thanks, not sure what you mean by console. There's an airconditioning console and the seats pull up for storage.
@@BarefootVlogger Sorry, meant rear seat center cup holder.
Nope. No rear seat center fold down armrest/cup holder on any trim level of the SC.
@@thedoeweb There isnt. I rarely have rear seat passengers so for me not an issue but I could see how some might miss it
@@BarefootVlogger I wouldn't be sitting back there either so the omission of the armrest is not a deal breaker for me. Ironically however, it would cost Hyundai about $2.00 more to include that feature in the build spec of the rear seat. Considering the limited trim level is a $40+k vehicle, it doesn't make much sense not to include it.
Dude, my Blue Iguana is 8 months and 18K miles.
Just ordered grey
Nice! I'm sure you will love it Edward.
It doesn’t seem like it’s been a year!
Time flyes when you're in Florida brother!
Are you from NewYork? The Bronx???

They call it a “tsb” or “technical service bulletin”
Basically means they won’t replace unless it breaks.
The Ford one was literally an issue with winter time ice buildups under the cowl/base of windshield could melt and drip into the dash, shorting out the entire dashboard, rendering a tow and a massive repair.
I live 45 minutes from the nearest ford dealer, in the mountains in NY
I was like “why can’t you just fix it now?”
Nope
The fix?
A $35 piece of plastic that screws under the hood and guarantee water/ice diverted away…
But they wouldn’t ever sell me the part unless it was broken
🧐😏
Thanks!
You're the best!! Thanks for all your Generous Support, Donna. It means the world to me!! Have a great day
