im currently playing the g1 dragontree unit for extra card draw in the early game and vs dominate if they call off of shiranui you can place the unit in front if you have the extra cb you can get a draw.
Driver should flip strider first stride - you can't realistically resolve it more than three times and you hit a point where 6 attack driver combo is just unguardable. You also don't swing with the rg columns before strider because the entire point is enabling the damage denial - if you just swing with no crit swings you ruin that gameplan. The 18k beater g1 needs to go up in number and/or you need to play some solemn dragon as it's a 23k beater that has ritual so it can be called off of driver and morfessa, the going second first stride draw is nice as well. The g1 is your only sc avenue in this deck and you need to do that to funnel resources to painkiller if you are playing that. Playing without dindrane or turnarr is asking to lose to damage denial - owl is nice but it's in the end phase and you don't always just end up with 2 in drop after the first stride without making some sacrifices - I prefer dindrane for searchability even though sb2 can be steep, it's fine as long as we play enough of the soul charger.
If you're talking about the G3 its an option. You're probably cutting main deck copies of Luard if you want to run it because the deck wants to run minimal G3
