My late father used to tell me how he could hear trains crossing the Long Creek trestle in the wintertime ninety years ago. He lived fifteen miles south of that trestle at the time.
At 11:15 that turnout used to go to a siding at what was Isenhour Brick. They used to get shipments from the plant in Salisbury. I’m pretty sure the switch and tracks have been removed now. Still a brickyard though, and the loading dock is still there.
If they could maintain those tracks as well as they do up here in the northeast. Trust me, it's epic to see a 60mph CSX train charging through a valley.
These are fantastic videos. I have a question for you. Do they run 1 man crews or is the conductor back in the trailing unit, or in a company truck? Thanks for the info and posting such amazing video.
Thanks for watching! Answer: a little bit of all three, depending on the situation and what industries they are working and the size of the train. In Spet of last year, I chased Seth from he Charlotte Yard to Transflow in Midland. During that afternoon, he had a conductor in a company truck and one on board. I will try to post a link to that series here, if RUclips will not let me, go to my playlist and find video #51 in Railfanning with Fasha.
Awesome video, could see it over and over again. You are a lucky man to get such a cab ride.I model the ACWR in Ho but it´s difficult to get the right information while i´m not living in the US.Again thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the view and kind words. I live in the area, if you ever need help with something, let me know and I'll try to help. There is a model train store in Spencer NC call the The Little Choo Choo Shop, here recently they were selling a limited edition of ACWR locomotives.
+FNGFASHA Productions Got mine from BPCS hobbies ,West End NC Juniper RD.It would be very nice to get some pics where ACWR switches their woodchip hoppers. It would be very kind if you could help.Greetings from Germany.

At 35:00 is that a team track in the fenced in area? I've seen tank cars in there before, fuel oil I'm guessing.
