    I try to walk barefoot outside as much as I can. Touching the cool grass and warm earth as I walk is relaxing.

      😮😮😮😮... My mother always used to take our shoes away, when we visited Finland, when I was a child. (Finnish man living in Sweden).
      The first think we kids did was to kick our shoes of when we came to our summer cottage that was built near my grandmother /uncles land. My parents said that we had to connect to our land/ancestors and it was not possible to do with having shoes on.
      That became a thing for us children. We always tried to compete that who was the fastest one to be able to walk on a road with big and much of these stone pebbles... Let me tell you that we where so proud of our feet's after the summer vacation ended (normally some 4 to 5 weeks). Back in Sweden we Finnish kids used to compare our feet's with eachother, because it was really a common thing for all of us Finnish families living in Sweden... We wasn't able to continue to walk without shoes in Sweden because it was seen as an odd thing to do, and that would have given us Finns a bad reputation, and maybe it would have even seen as cruel and then some social worker would have been knocking on your door in a couple of days 😂😂😂

    Great list! My favourites are the idea of ”lagom”, winter swimming and using always the stairs instead of elevator😊

    OMG! This video so reminded of the concepts in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, the main theme of which is the pursuit of quality in all that you do.
    (It was one of the books that began to change my life.)
    Good video!

      Thank you! I actually started that book after your suggestion but since I am such a slow reader and it's a long book, I had to return it to the library after like 100 pages 😄 I liked the classical vs. romantic idea in the book. I hope to continue it in the future when I have more time to dedicate to reading it carefully

    Do you know if there's an english word for talkko (not sure that's how it's spelled, I don't know finnish)? In latvian there is talka, but I haven't found a swedish word for it either.

    • @SunnyKindJourney
      @SunnyKindJourney  10 дней назад +2

      Yeah, that's exactly the concept that I talk about in this video! So cool that you know it! I googled it and in English apparently it's "bee - gathering for carrying out a major task, such as harvesting or construction" but I have never heard of that one before, and talking about bees here would for sure confuse people haha 🐝

      Hi my Latvian friend. I'm a Finnish man living in Sweden, and Sweden have a word for "Talkoot" and it's "arbetsgille" and/or "grannsamverkan" can also fit as a word I think. I'm living in an apartment in a condominium in the Stockholm city central, and we have this on a yearly basis. We neighbors go together and clean up our neighborhood and plant some plants in the early summer. Everyone takes something to eat or drink and we all will be shearing it amongst eachother. We drink wine and some beers aswell. It's voluntary to be part of, but if you chose to not be part of it you have to pay some money, for the other to use to buy some food/drinks. We normally have about 200 kronor as a "fine".
      But interesting that you also have this kind of "behavior" 😁 🇱🇻 + 🇫🇮 + 🇸🇪 = 💪🙏

    • @sixtenjohansson4246
      @sixtenjohansson4246 5 дней назад +1

      @@slimball1939 Thank you! Arbetsgille was the word I was looking for. 😄
      Where I live now we only have "städdag" and that doesn't really cover it.
      I think the arbetsgille is an excellent way to build a community and make people take responsibility for the environment. When you made it nice you want it to stay that way.
