It is a Coldplay song featuring BTS as it is part of CP album Music of the Sphere, but if you notice the Title is says "COLDPLAY x BTS" not COLPLAY ft. BTS"....that's so sweet of CP because it goes to show that he acknowledges the fact that the song has been made TOGETHER with BTS and that it doesn't JUST have 1 or 2 lines by BTS, the whole song has a healthy mix of both bands. He even added the dance break at the end because he wants to dance with BTS if they ever get the chance to perform it together. And one more fun fact, this is the only collaboration that includes all members of BTS that is why we got a music video with BTS in it. If you research about it, all collaborations that features BTS only have some of the members hence the MV for those songs only has their voices but never their actual presence in the video. Plus what I really admire about Chris Martin is that even though BTS were the ones who reached out to him to do a collab, he put in effort to fly to S. Korea regardless of the risks in order to record the song with the members in person...we all know they could've just done it remotely in the comfort of their own studios. They even gave each other presents, how cute is that! it's not like Coldplay needs BTS for clout you know because they have their own fanbase and considered one of the most respected unproblematic band since the 90s so for me his attitude towards BTS was just genuine respect and admiration. That's what makes this song special in my opinion :)
Well said! In the documentary, Jin, V, and Jungkook were star-struck at the opportunity to work with Chris Martin. Isn’t there an old interview where BTS were asked who they would like to collaborate with, one member says Coldplay, and the rest shake there heads in a “never gonna happen” way?
The behind the scenes is really satisfying. You can see how much involvement they had in the backing vocals/overall sound. Jimin was so happy with the process that he hopped into the recording booth. 😭😂😍 JK was his nonchalant boy genius self. Everyone loved Chris Martin. Felt like same vibe we got with Halsey. Genuine.
I wasn't crazy about the song, either, but I gained more appreciation for it after watching the documentary. When you see the process, you realize how involved BTS were. Honestly, Chris Martin didn't have to share this song with them. He could have made it a typical feature where the featured artist gets about 45 seconds to shine, but he treated this as a true collaboration, which just shows you who he is as an artist and person.
I agree. When I first heard it I had some misgivings, because if not for some that are unmistakable lines fromJK and V, RM and Jimin, rap from Suga and JHope, and that very short line from Jin, the Korean rap I would not have liked it at all. Then I listened to it again, watched the lyric video, and finally the documentary on how the song was produced, and I had a complete turn. I like it so much more and it has become more meaningful.
I’ve never been a Cold Play fan but I’ve never denied their talent. Chris Martin is just great and I love him as a human being. I love that they did this together and think it was a perfect collaboration. Love the song!
You said there’s a lack of bts writing credits when that’s not true and an exaggeration. Their last album BE came out less than a year ago and all 7 had at least one credit. Since BE they’ve released film out, butter, blue side, my universe, bicycle, snow flower, christmas love, and abyss. At least one member has had credits on any songs released within the group or solo except for Permission to Dance.
i think the song will do it for you after a few more listens, it becomes really catchy the more you hear it. suga, rm and j-hope actually co-wrote and composed the song. this collab was actually 18 months in the making and they’ve wanted to work with each other for a while. they both represent similar ideologies in their music and share similar views. they came together “from different sides” and showed that two groups of different geographical residence, different cultures and who speak different languages can unify with one message and put out a song conveying that. coldplay as you know have been around forever and have had a huge influence on music today and some of the bts members have expressed their love and admiration for coldplay in the past so this collab coming together was a great thing. i don’t think this had anything with bts wanting to use this western collab to gain more popularity in the west- they’re more “popular” than many popular western artists. it was more about working with a group they respect and who respect them back and together releasing a song that had a bit of both in it. sorry for the essay lol.
Not gonna lie - kinda bummed that you didn't get the concept and don't care for the song, but to each his own. No, they didn't all get equal time but this isn't their song, it's Coldplay's song - and unlike other collabs, at least they were all included so I'm thankful for that. I actually like this song more than Butter because it has more substance and meaning. Yes, I love their agreesive and intense raps on songs but they haven't released a song that would necessitate that kind of feel - the song dictates the tone, as I'm sure you know; nothing they released in the last year called for it. And I'm not mad about it. Aggressive rap is stereotypical - these guys can rap with melody and soft emotion, a skill not had by many.
@@TheChampOfMedium no need to be sorry - there’s a song or two of theirs I don’t care for **enter audible gasp here** and I’ve been with them since School of Tears - predebut - so I won’t name them for public safety reasons 🤣😂
@@TheChampOfMedium XD It's OK to like what you like. I liked this one at first listen, PtD took me 2-3 and now I vibe all day with it. I do have preferences, but you know what's a vibe check for me: I plug a new song to the kids (they know all albums already, and a lot of discographies -widely- frmo Pink, to Bowie, to Aerosmith or Roxette, as well as U2, Linkin Park...). Anyway, if the kids stay listening totally focused, it is a "hard song", if they start jumping and singing along (even without knowing the song, you catch up the chorus), then it's a true bop. I trust my kids xD and I trust myself, I love myself? XD Take care!!!!
@@loredell ON feat Sia was so unnecessary lol. I don’t care for Rain and Cypher pt 1. And though I absolutely LOVE their Japanese originals (For You will always be that one for me), I don’t like the Japanese versions of their Korean songs.
It wasn't so much a BTS song, more like Coldplay brought it to them. But it's a catchy song and the collab was more like a real collaboration than those feature type deals. They really came together and that's what I liked about it. I think I enjoyed the MV more because I saw the documentary first. So enjoy the documentary! 💜
BTS shared how they do line distribution on so many occasions already. Each of them sings a full song, and they decide together whose voice suits the best to each part. Every single time. Documentary on BangtanTV, that shows the story of this collab, also gives quite an insight to the whole process.
They dont each sing the full song where did you get that.. the producer and bts have an idea of who will match each part or predetermine who will sing what. They may have other members try out a verse but no they dont do the unnecessary process of everyone singing all parts to see who suits best. And yes jungkook gets a lot of parts because his vocals are the best suited for a lot of tracks bts puts out.
Let's not forget that this is a Coldplay song & the science fiction themes runs throughout the songs on the Music of the Spheres album, due for release. Also, the "Music of the Spheres" is an age-old moniker/title, it goes back to the days of ancient Greece & is a philosophy/hypotheses on celestial mechanics of those times. I liked this song & look forward to the next BTS collab.
BTS did write some of the lyrics. You’ll like the documentary. Wish it was on here. 😢 The 3 bands in the video are from 3 different planets. The DJ brought them together. Suga did his own background vocals.
Chris went to South Korea to write and record it with bts. The mv has holograms to make the video. Its not the first time they used a hologram. Mama 2020 Suga used it to be in the performance with the guys because he had surgery a few weeks before.
It is a story of unity through music in the time when music is forbidden(by Silencers) , rebelling against NO SOUND by creating loudest sound possible together! and also it is about overcoming any kind of obstacle with love because for love their are no boundaries , borders or rules! BTS had a very BIG part in writing and directing the production of this song. It was a team effort from BTS and Coldplay together! That's why it is Coldplay x BTS not Coldplay ft. BTS . Chris was wonderful with them, he gave them same amount of respect as they have for him, it was beautiful to watch how the song was created! Very sincere collab! and they had to fit 8 voices on the song so of course the line distribution won't be even... Chirs had a large part because it is on Coldplay album after all, and BTS were all so happy with their parts, it was all well thought out and created with mutual agreement on everything.
This collaboration was actually something BTS wanted. It was not initiated by Coldplay. All the boys are huge fans. They contacted Coldplay and have mentioned multiple times how much they'd love to work with them. Which is why I found it extra sweet how Chris flew to Korea to work with them and included everything that makes BTS them on the song : Korean, a rap break, harmonies, a dance break. Just goes to show how genuine and kind Coldplay are. Plus I don't really know about anywhere else but Coldplay are massive in Asia where I'm from. They could start a tour right now and sell out stadiums in multiple cities multiple nights in minutes. They're considered legendary here. So I totally understand the boys' reaction to Chris agreeing to work with them and the mutual respect and love made me appreciate the collaboration even more
Totally appreciate your honest opinion. I personally have loved Coldplay since the beginning. The way they did it is more of a collaboration than a feature, for which I'm grateful. The fact the BTS sings in Korean is also great. I think BTS will gain recognition in new markets from this.
I guess I'm the Champ of Sub-Par. I liked it a lot. Chris Martin was really involved. When he performed the song at (can't remember the whole/correct name of it) Global Citizens Live last weekend he sang the Korean lyrics too - and to watch the video of him in Korea with the guys was really cool too. BTS has talked repeatedly/ad-nauseum about line distribution. They do it by what makes sense is any given song - it's not an equity battle and they're not getting paid by the word. Yeah - I came off sounding like a bitch and I suppose I'll wind up deleting my comment shortly. I'm just frustrated by nonsense.
Really wish everyone would read the beginning of the MV and pay attention to it because everyone is just continuously saying what's that who's that what's happening it literally told you at the start 🤦🏻♀️
I think BTS has probably been using this time to stock-pile Korean self-written songs. Whenever they have their next album comeback, I'm sure we'll be back to normal. My theory is that fundamentally, BTS releases songs in order to PERFORM them in front of a LIVE audience, but they can't perform right now - they still haven't performed MotS-7 songs... so they want to wait until they can perform live again before releasing another full album. Their English singles and collabs in 2021 to buy time have been entertaining - and I love how Coldplay made sure there was a rap section and a dance break in this song for them - it really shows that it was written with specifically them in mind as the collab/feature.
Yes, this is exactly what I think about this whole situation as well. RM said in his Vlive he's been working on new songs and his own songs as well. Also, just today Jin said we may not see it but they've been preparing lots of things for us and also for the upcoming concert at LA. So even I feel that they aren't releasing an album because they still haven't had a tour for MOTS7. New music will only add up to that pile.
@@nighatbukhari7255 Tbh I feel the same way. I've found it annoying with people complaining about english songs as if BTS has changed and is forgetting their korean roots or something. I am a butter era army myself. I cannot say what was the intention of the person who wrote the original comment but I'm guessing this explanation of a "normal" is directed towards those people who aren't able to accept this. It's kind of a reassurance to those people (I know it shouldn't be needed but it's being given because there are people who don't understand or accept and are whining about 3 English songs ever since butter came out, literally turning a blind eye towards BE)
Thing is yeah, this is a Coldplay song from Coldplay album. BTS just featured. I think they did the best they could to make sure each member got at least one small feature. You can hear a lot more Jimin and Jin on the acoustic version.
Technically BTS isn't featured. Never is "ft.", "feat.", or "featuring" used in official material. What is used is "Coldplay X BTS". The "X" is a modern day signifier of a duet, equal partners. To be only featured is a lesser position in a cooperation.
Featured or X, what I love is Chris learning to prounciate a couple of sentences in Korean, to harmonize with them or be able to sing it by himself. Not to shade other collabs, but well, some are more involved/meaningful than others (although they are all good... well, not Sia, sorry and I love her, nope...)
Well ok featured or X, isn't really the point. The point is this is a Coldplay song written by them. They are going to be the ones performing it the majority of the time on their tours. It would not make sense to have half of it in Korean. They would not be able to perform that. Chris did a good job performing this last week, he managed to do JK's and Taehyung's verses in Korean very well but as he pointed out himself he could not do Yoongi's or Hobis. The fact he went to Korea to record with them, had them write parts of the lyrics and actually put them in the MV makes it more of a collab than anything else they've ever done with other artists.
@@AlisonMurfitt1805 You were replying the other comment right? because I mostly want to say (or said) what you did (Just making sure it came across right lol)
I love that RM has been working on his vocals. He has a great voice. And a lot of people don't know that RM actually sung on Dynamite too! If you listen closely during JHope's part you can hear RM's voice singing the lower notes layered/harmonizing with JHope 💜Also I love this song. I find myself singing it out of the blue bc the chorus is so catchy it sticks in your head lol
To me, who loves both bands, and can hear both bands' styles mixing perfectly in this, this is my jam. I don't care what you think 😌💜 But it's fine, not everything is for everyone 😉
Be careful addressing how the lines are distributed . They’ll come for your neck 🤣 I loved the song and the message behind it. I of course understand how some would like other members to have a bit more lines but it’s a Coldplay song, and as long as bts are happy they were able to collab with Coldplay, that’s all that matters. Nice hair btw 🤪
I grew up listening to coldplay and honestly haven't loved their latest music but this song is so good, it reminded me of their old music. I loved the song, but I understand it may not be everyone's taste and that's okay.
You're one of very few reactors who say what they actually think instead of just pandering to the fans, and I appreciate that so much. Keep up the good work! I liked this song, but yeah, it was very Coldplay, and I am eager for some pure BTS.
Tbh, the first time I heard it I was like njaaa too. But it really grows on you after a few times listening and now I can't get the damn thing out of my head! 😅
I loved the song and loved how it was used in the making of this music video. Love BTS and working with Coldplay, how they are well suited for working together to make such an awesome piece of art, that will be loved by many for many years to come. Love all the voices working together, and how beautiful their sound comes from them all!
Rm has been singing in a lot in songs lately, And he wrote and sang Bicycle for a gift to army, I love his singing voice soft and sexy. I think both RM and Suga are taking singing lesson, JHope could already sing.
Yes that was Suga singing with his rapping. Also J-Hope has been blonde for awhile, in Permission To Dance he was blonde. Actually J-Hope has pink hair more recently. The rap line (J-Hope, Suga, and RM) actually helped co-write My Universe.
I finally, finally after years, got my sister into BTS. But she likes their more rap heavy Korean songs. And of course, this has to be the year when they only do western style light pop songs, lol.
Dude, Hobi's been blond since March and white-blond since June 😂. Just look at their twitter account, he's posted a bunch of selfies. He went pink in September and based on some leaks for tomorrow's award show he might be purple right now. Quality's bad, so it's hard to say for sure.
As i've said before this song is so beautiful that it makes me both smile and cry at the same time but now I've seen the MV I'm crying again it's so beautifully filmed and made I'm just in love with it and hearing those harmonies again especially Jimin with RM and Chris Martin with JK it's so beautiful. So one word to describe the entire song and MV is beautiful as it remind me just how much the lads miss us and how much we miss them
As both a coldplay and BTS fan I liked this one. And i also agree with not really feeling the English songs that were released recently. I dont play them as much as I play their other songs. Nothing to do with them being in English, but it just feels more produced towards the Western market and some of the songs couldve been sung by any group and lacked their unique feel. But I liked my universe, even tho not technically a BTS song, than their last English songs because I have already played it more than all those three songs put together.
Love, love, love Cold Play from the get go. These boys been out forever, grinding and killing the music game. I'm glad BTS choose to contact him to do a collab, they have the same mission. We love this!! Both are legends!!
This cooperation between BTS and Coldplay is really amazing to me. It shocked me like a planet impact!! What is the concept of cooperation between two top bands??! 💜💜💜 Sure enough, when I listened to this song for the first time, m it met my expectations. The cooperative song is still disco type, but it also has rock elements. It is also an 80s retro single, and the production is top enough. The top appearance of Billboard Hot 100 suddenly appeared in my mind, because it is worth it, really worth it!!! And should be on top of the world! I saw the lyrics version on youtube, and the response was quite good. I thought I should have the opportunity to see the official MV. Look, now it's coming, it's really coming!! Or the visual effect of cyberpunk!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥 My universe!! This is music
I think Coldplay invests a lot in music videos in general, I went to watch the other one they released this year, and it's even more produced than this, so it's not just because of BTS
Yeah they've always put a lot of money and effort into their mvs and concerts because they care about bringing their art and vision to life and are big enough that they can afford to do so
I get you. If you’re not a Coldplay fan, it’s a very Coldplay song. I agree with wanting more classic BTS. I’m glad they’re having fun though and breaking through barriers all over. I support everything they do. 💜
Actually this is my first time watching Chris Martin but when I saw him singing with the BTS I really love his voice..it's soothing to the ears and at the same time you feel the lyrics of the song MY UNIVERSE..love the BTS and Chris Martin..
Hi Debbie from Michigan here and I am old army at 66 years old. If no one has told you yet, that was Chris Martin in back of Suga singing in Korean. Awesome! Love your channel, keep doing what you are doing.
Hi. Suga did say in a recent interview that we may get a hiphop song soon from them!! Right now they are busy preparing for their online concert and their 1st ever offline concert since the pandemic started in LA! My best unfounded guess (lol) is they will release a new Korean album with hiphop songs early next year. Maybe in February. 😁 Let's keep our fingers crossed. 💜👀
Okay.... When you see the making nof the song your gonna see that jin and jimin and all of them kind sang together and most of the parts... So really each member got more than one "line"
@@jilll1287 is incredible how his voice on its own is beautiful but also when he harmonizes with the others, that's when you know someone knows how to sing, he is amazing 💜👌
Hey! looking good without the head wraps and caps! 👍👏 CM and V are both baritones so if you noticed the song is not too high pitched...Jin is in his lower register too.
I loved the song and MV and wanted the 13 minute doco to go on forever though, so. But your reactions are good. You’re honest and respectful about it, and you don’t just say ZOMG I TOTALLY LOVE THIS NEW BTS SONG unless you mean it. And with wall-to-wall reactions to BTS on RUclips these days, that means a lot.
Of all the songs BTS has released in the last year this is easily my favorite. I don't like many western artists but I do like Coldplay a lot. Chris has got a unique voice and even though he does make pop music, it's exactly the kind of pop music that really appeals to me. Yellow and Talk are two of my favorite songs ever. Even if it's not technically intricate, I like the sound and lyrics of this song, and I'm a big fan of anything cosmic. But everyone has different taste. I didn't like permission to dance at all and I know some other people love it. You have your own criteria for what makes a song "good" and that's totally valid.
I think the highlight of this collaboration is that BTS sings in Corean. Something that not all big western artist wouldn't allow. The song is Coldplay's that's why it is in it's channel. There is a documentary when we can see that Chris Martin decided which member sing wich part. RM, J-Hope and Suga wrote their parts. So, in general, is something that is going to help them to get the recognition they haven't had already. And Chris Martin has been awesome with them. Sorry for my English grammar. I'm Mexican. Thank you for your sincere reaction.
I always appreciate your honesty. You always deeply appreciate the talents of each BTS member, you are understanding about the market strategies they occasionally have to adopt, and yet you keep it 100% respectful but *real*. That's why I always look forward to your reactions.
I am definitely a Coldplay fan; I listen to their B sides too 😉 A lot of their radio singles are poppy, perhaps to not your taste? After watching the doc, I'm pretty confy you'll get more of the point of the song. 👍🏻 Thanks for checking it out!
Glad you found out about the ducks! This outer space, sci-fi and intergalactic saga has been in Coldplay’s theme for a long time and it becomes more evident in their new album “Music Of The Spheres” (out 15th October 2021) which of course feature the track “My Universe”. The alien characters in Supernova7 Band and the Silencers are taken directly from “Mylo Xyloto” comic book created by Coldplay for their 5th studio album Mylo Xyloto in 2011. The other 5 in Supernova7 are: Angel Moon (J-Hope flirts with her in the MV), Kasio Mars (frontman who plays bizarre large strings/xylo instrument), Eko (the one with electronic piano-like instrument), Blaze (the one in yellow fur and plays maracas) and Dorean Delorean (the robot drummer).
beside music taste Coldplay is huge, i'm forever greatful for making this song with the boys, allowing them to sing in coreean, making a dance break in the song! i've seen comments from coldplay fans that made me mad"the song is good if you ignore BTS', i will unfollow you for making this collaboration ' etc.the documentary will make you see things differently!
You need to watch the documentary then you can speak. Lyrics by Rm and Chris Martin. Don't put the documentary on patreon but your money were your mouth is. As long as I've been with Bts, I know Coldplay is the main artist, the fact that Chris went to Korea to do this is an acknowledgement of how far our boys have come. Also Jimin did almost all the background singing because he wanted that special hi note.i wanna see you watch the documentary but I'm not paying you.
Like Karly Ann said, it’s a shame you gave short shrift to the wording at the start of the MV. Three bands on 3 planets (BTS on Calypso what a cool allusion that is, Coldplay on Floria, and SuperNova7 on Supersolis) are connected thru DJ Lafrique’s little ship (in French, L’Afrique means Africa). Each band traveling holographically to play with the other 2 bands. Then the silencer ship which kinda looks like a COVID virus) arrives and sucks all the power. Lafrique’s ship goes dark and stops spinning. When the bands start singing to the heavens, her ship recharges and she is able to escape. I like how BTS’s dance break was low-key so that the holograph of Chris Martin dancing with them looked natural. Also liked that it was Chris who spray-painted the word “ALL” on the sign. (You can tell bc he has the pink fabric wrapped on his wrist.). I also like how Coldplay released a My Universe SuperNova 7 remix even before this MV dropped. Seems like a larger story line is out there.
I am allways amazed that people can notice all this in their first time seeing a new music video. I am allways just so overwhealmed off all and focused on hearing the new song that I can only focus to the mv after few times off seeing it. Maybe its not only just me, might be someone else also...
I loved the song, but I’m also a Coldplay fan so it makes sense. I’m totally with you on wishing for more full Korean and especially rap songs. I wasn’t even that big a fan of UGH compared to their other stuff >.> I was also trying to figure out who was layered behind Suga, and it does sound like his singing voice. My boy got it all 😌
I'm sure if you attend a BTS concert and Coldplay jumps on stage and they sing this song......you'll be vibing for sure.🕺 🤣 Song is awesome. But, to each his own. Oh, and this is Coldplay's last chance. What? Each member in the band are worth well over $100m. Last chance for what? BTS approached Coldplay to collaborate. Lol!
I also had quite weak first impression honestly, like I was expecting some cool ass bridge or instrumental solo or whatever, so I found the song a bit lacking. The next day though I was like "lemme uhh hear it again.... and again. ......and one more time" :D She charmed me after all
I'm in the same boat as you 😂 not a coldplay fan, but I think they're ok and this song is also ok. I only listened to it once and then I felt I was done with it. it's not Bad by any means, just not my type of music to listen to outside of a party/get-together or smth
Appreciate your honest reactions 😊 I mean yea if you don't like coldplay songs.. it's not gonna do it for ya lol but man coldplay is amazing for me! All 7 members were featured, even tho some had very little lines (but it was a feature so it do be like that sometimes- still cringe a lil at Sia in ON lol)
Thank you! And next time pls react to Shining One by BE:FIRST! They are new J-POP group and made by members who were founded at audition. The song is so catchy and addicted They are so trend in Japan right now🇯🇵
Dude i'm happy to finally see your hair! You look nice. Also Hobi was blonde the whole PTD era. This song wasn't one of my favorite BTS songs and just like ypu said it's more of a coldplay song -love them BTW- but also i liked it a lot more after i watched the documantry.
Surprisingly I liked it. I thought I would be indifferent but I find myself humming it to myself. Unpopular opinion but I think I would like it more if tae was featured more. His voice just really suited the the sound IMO. In the end after watching the doc I’m happy they got to collab. They genuinely seemed to all have fun working with eachother
I’ve never been a Coldplay fan-it’s not that I DISlike them, it’s just that they’re…there. Aural oatmeal. So I really didn’t have high hopes for this but I do actually like it. Or rather, I really like the chorus and the rap. The rest is pleasant but sort of forgettable, like a lot of Coldplay’s music for me. (It’s also about a bazillion trillion quadrillion times better than PTD.) Would I ever have listened to it if not for BTS? Definitely not, but I am enjoying it for what it is. I do think my opinion of MU was helped in no small part by my newly-formed opinion of Chris Martin, who couldn’t be a more decent human being if he tried. He did his research, treated BTS with the respect and admiration they deserve as people and as musicians, and it’s clear when you watch the documentary that this was a great experience for all of them. (I actually feel bad for not liking Coldplay now because Chris is such a good guy.) It’s by far, BTS’s best collab. I thought the MV was decent enough but I could have done without the goofy storyline and rubber-headed aliens.

Also Chris from the start wanted them to do their own lyrics and RM, Suga and J-Hope have writing credits on this one.
i think the song will do it for you after a few more listens, it becomes really catchy the more you hear it. suga, rm and j-hope actually co-wrote and composed the song. this collab was actually 18 months in the making and they’ve wanted to work with each other for a while. they both represent similar ideologies in their music and share similar views. they came together “from different sides” and showed that two groups of different geographical residence, different cultures and who speak different languages can unify with one message and put out a song conveying that. coldplay as you know have been around forever and have had a huge influence on music today and some of the bts members have expressed their love and admiration for coldplay in the past so this collab coming together was a great thing. i don’t think this had anything with bts wanting to use this western collab to gain more popularity in the west- they’re more “popular” than many popular western artists. it was more about working with a group they respect and who respect them back and together releasing a song that had a bit of both in it. sorry for the essay lol.
Exactly at first I liked it but after a few more times streaming I started to fall in love with this song and the vibe!
Jin is layered in with Chris during the whole chorus, their voices blend extremely well 💜
Not gonna lie - kinda bummed that you didn't get the concept and don't care for the song, but to each his own.
Sorry :( I wish I liked it more.
@@TheChampOfMedium no need to be sorry - there’s a song or two of theirs I don’t care for **enter audible gasp here** and I’ve been with them since School of Tears - predebut - so I won’t name them for public safety reasons 🤣😂
@@nalani2553 Now I'm curious, and On ft Sia doesn't count :O
XD
Take care!!!!
But for this song I think Chris Martin decided who sang what parts.
@@cemarie1172 not in this case, but usually for their group songs.
@@cemarie1172 jin has mentioned that they all sing the song and then decide what part fit with each member.
This annoys me bc u can hear Jins beautiful voice harmonizing with chris all over MU.
They actually both wrote it. Which is amazing. Its a great collab.
BTS . Chris was wonderful with them, he gave them same amount of respect as they have for him,
it was beautiful to watch how the song was created! Very sincere collab! and they had to fit 8 voices on the song so of course the line distribution won't be even...
Chirs had a large part because it is on Coldplay album after all, and BTS were all so happy with their parts, it was all well thought out and created with mutual agreement on everything.
Respect your honest reaction... completely it's refreshing.....even tho I disagree with every single thing that came out of your mouth!!! LOL :) peace
So I totally understand the boys' reaction to Chris agreeing to work with them and the mutual respect and love made me appreciate the collaboration even more
I like your honesty. Personally, I like Coldplay and I like this song, and I love the way Tae comes in all deep, breathy & smooth(like butter)
I think tae’s voice matched really well
Need to watch the documentary
Totally appreciate your honest opinion. I personally have loved Coldplay since the beginning. The way they did it is more of a collaboration than a feature, for which I'm grateful. The fact the BTS sings in Korean is also great. I think BTS will gain recognition in new markets from this.
You might want to watch their mini documentary ‘Coldplay x BTS inside documentary’
And the “shut it down” when the silencers come.
@@nighatbukhari7255 Back to normal as in new album with a new concept, lots of new korean songs, more live performances and all that I guess.
It's kind of a reassurance to those people (I know it shouldn't be needed but it's being given because there are people who don't understand or accept and are whining about 3 English songs ever since butter came out, literally turning a blind eye towards BE)
@@nighatbukhari7255 Thanks for mentioning everything else that came after BE as well.

I love that RM has been working on his vocals. He has a great voice. And a lot of people don't know that RM actually sung on Dynamite too! I find myself singing it out of the blue bc the chorus is so catchy it sticks in your head lol
To me, who loves both bands, and can hear both bands' styles mixing perfectly in this, this is my jam. I don't care what you think 😌💜

Also, Chris Martin is the cutest human. I will go to my grave thinking so. He radiates joy and goodness and i love him.
He’s not wrong tho.

@@jilll1287 oh yeah, I know. I was a bit disappointed of the line distribution but god forbid you say something and you get labeled an solo anti(?) 💀
Let's talk about line distribution in every BTS song then. Shall we?
Chris Martin actually briefly sings in Korean as well.
Rm has been singing in a lot in songs lately, And he wrote and sang Bicycle for a gift to army, I love his singing voice soft and sexy. I think both RM and Suga are taking singing lesson, JHope could already sing.
Have they even heard MONO?? Its pretty much him singing. Amazing mixtape
Isn’t it awesome, touched me every time I heard it
Yes that was Suga singing with his rapping. Also J-Hope has been blonde for awhile, in Permission To Dance he was blonde. Actually J-Hope has pink hair more recently. The rap line (J-Hope, Suga, and RM) actually helped co-write My Universe.
Yoongi is doing his backup vocals too.
So one word to describe the entire song and MV is beautiful as it remind me just how much the lads miss us and how much we miss them
It's really clever reason for using holograms! You'll really feel differently about the whole project when you see the doc. It's so cool. 💜
The voice singing in Korean behind Suga's rapping is Chris Martin.
Stan the respect.
How is it that people forget there was a whole BE ALBUM…. In KOREAN
Love, love, love Cold Play from the get go. These boys been out forever, grinding and killing the music game. I'm glad BTS choose to contact him to do a collab, they have the same mission. We love this!! Both are legends!!
"Hobi is blonde now?" Don't get me started 😭 blonde hobi was gone too soon, rip
Yeah they've always put a lot of money and effort into their mvs and concerts because they care about bringing their art and vision to life and are big enough that they can afford to do so
BTS와 콜드플레이는 완벽하게 하나가 되었네요~^^

The concept of the mv is essentially space footloose and i love it
Suga's rap part where you were wondering who was rap singing along with him, it was Chris Martin
The background vocal during Suga's part was Suga himself.
Suga was doing the background notes for his rapping
It's Cold Plays song but the song was co written by both bands. They did a documentary on it.

"Hey, Jin, you got a line. Nice! 😂😂😂😭Am I the only one who feels bad for Jin? Wish he would get a few more solos.
There's an interview where Chris sings this acoustic and does ALL the Korean too.
It was Chris from Coldplay he learned Korean to do the backup vocal for SUGA at least from their behind the scenes video Chris says that
Like Karly Ann said, it’s a shame you gave short shrift to the wording at the start of the MV.
I wasn’t even that big a fan of UGH compared to their other stuff >.>

I'm sure if you attend a BTS concert and Coldplay jumps on stage and they sing this song......you'll be vibing for sure.🕺 🤣
Song is awesome.

Dude i'm happy to finally see your hair! You look nice. Also Hobi was blonde the whole PTD era. This song wasn't one of my favorite BTS songs and just like ypu said it's more of a coldplay song -love them BTW- but also i liked it a lot more after i watched the documantry.
Its Suga layered on Suga, he does it in a few songs.
I think it's Hobi adlibbing Suga's rapverse
I think it was part of the idea that they are in different places I mean coldplay head guy went to Korea to record with them
I’ve never been a Coldplay fan-it’s not that I DISlike them, it’s just that they’re…there.
I think this is the first time I’ve seen your hair.

I think you’ll like the song more when you watch the documentary.
It's Yoongi doing the higher note rap too
