Tips And Comments:
- Playing Technique: Played next to the neck pickup with ONE finger (index) and middle strength. Use more of the tip of the finger and try to get a fair amount of attack on each note. Used foam in the bridge to damp strings (actually is a kitchen sponge cut in half). I also used just the neck pickup sound with some tone rolled down. If you are using rounds, pay attention to not making fret buzz. Use the most fingers you can to play notes and secure the sound. Also play always in the end of the fret so you get even less chance of buzz
- Gear Sound: Just DI through some eq to raise a bit of mid low and cut some treble. You should use flatwounds, i used just rounds. Also high action on strings helps to get the sound. Other than everything i just mentioned, most of the sound is in the playing style (strongly on this case)
- About The Song: As i said, probably the most important and difficult thing here is keeping attention to the sound of each note. Treat every note carefully and things should go right. Transcribed from studio version, helping myself with an isolated bass track. Positions created by me, couldn't find live videos to help me. Probably some positions may work better in other ways, you can play with that easily. Those i use worked for me. I messed up in a part and didn't play according to the tab. The tab is right in that case.

Hey everyone. I hope you liked the professional foam i'm using. Use it to clean dishes too. Some mistake over there i just noticed, but i think is good enough. READ THE DESCRIPTION for details on tone and leave your questions!
CoverSolutions would it be possible for you to add "Tragedy's a Comin'" by Primus to your list of songs to play?
Thumbs up for the sponge! Lol!
...did you ever hear the story about when James Jamerson layed the track for "What's Goin On"? It's a cool story... check out the isolated bassline.. drunk, flat on his back, in the dark... www.notreble.com/buzz/2011/03/16/marvin-gaye-james-jamerson-whats-going-on-isolated-vocals-and-bass/
I love your videos!! Would you please do a bass cover of "Miss You" by The Rolling Stones?
the bassline, the best part of any good song :D
I don't know why James Jamerson lines always kick my ass all the passing notes and the timing is just crazy! oh I know why because I'm not James Jamerson! hahaha Well done mate!
It's easier when you create shit like that. But hard to follow up. Haha
Respect
Reading through the Gladys Knight version then this one. The syncopation on this one is absolutely amazing and you really can’t hear all the licks on the record. Thanks for doing this.
Starting out on my bass journey and your fret/note (isolation) over his track is helping tune my ear - thanks so much for you time and effort. Keep doing what you’re doing 👌🏻
The chicken by jaco?

Just curious, why is 436 considered "standard tuning" in this video?
the track was most likely slowed down in post, making the song “de-tune” slightly. that could be a reason.
@@druid5931 I'll buy that. I've got some friends that are tin-foil-hat obsessed with 432.
Can you do The Trooper by Iron Maiden?
or hallowed be thy name
fear of the dark

Bass Tab please!
I want to learn the Creedence Clearwater Revival version, but this will do!
dude this is cool, but when a new line of tab shows up you should change it before the measure starts. hard to play along with when you can't look ahead
Looks like your tabs were removed from the mediafire site; too bad but thanks for the effort!
Yeah his mediafire is fucked, he uploads on mega now but the links on his old videos still point to the mediafire link
Correct linky: mega.nz/#F!XWxUUSaS!0MMNcZED82illNFVOEj4Tw
IDK if you know or not but your files have been removed from Mediafire. If you didn't know... heads up. Have a good one. :)
RAINING BLOOD BY SLAYER lml

It's 11 minutes long, but damn that guitar solo part is epic!

Good old Fogerty
I just can't understand: why playing with one finger?
I think it's because of the musical dynamics because play with one finger makes it easier to control the intensity of each note. That's what I do when I play.
Sorry for my bad english, Im spanish speaker.
james jamerson, who played on this song used this technique, his index finger even had the nickname " the hook " i think :)
james jamerson hook
James Jamerson played like that, gives you very consistent sound.
Try the D string 0 0 3 0 0 0 0 3 2
You have to arrange a video to show your face
look at his band covers, he shows it there
Not that great, actually its kinda hard to anticipate hard moments because you see them too late
