I just wanted to say the reason I call it 13 and 26 is I cut my books at 6.5, 13, 19.5, 26, 32.5" that gives you 2 sets less the full shingle of each book.

It will most likely leak again depending how the underlayment holds up. When doing a valley you should always shingle low slope first. If the pitch is same you should do the main roof first dormers last. I have seen this happen many times.
Love to do roofing but I am a landscaper for over 20 years just ripped my parents roof and did hickory timberline pray I get no leaks did roofing like 10 years ago on the side here in ottawa and with my step dad who builds his on homes
16 years roofing, never had a leak!. Except a chimeny that was cleaned right after we did the work, by the homeowner, and the chimney leaked, cam back and I re flashed and re counter flashed, the chimney, Old chimney, moss removed, it leaked from the top. Client called me later and admitted it, so happy he did. I thought I was a failure, Now I know more about chimneys. ;)
when you put the metal under that shingle and you said you qere going to caulk it, what kind of caulking do you use and do you put it underneith as well or just ontop?
you were talking to yourself when you said i dont talk to myself!!! you wanna see broken hook blades come shingle in wisconsin!!!! love the videos!!!!!
hey mr legit i been there repairing valley job its never any fun going behind someones work to make it right keep the videos going peace on the west coast
i dont care who you are... if you are a roofer and never have leaks your lying to yourself or you change your phone number alot!!! we get a callback about 1 in 100 roofs....usually minor but it happens. all it takes is one nail
I dont have a number . I've done this over 35yrs and never had to go back and fix the job I did never mind tearing off half the roof . When you sub out work and you as the boss are not there helping to put the roof this is what could happen. They don't care. Plus everyone thinks that being able to shingle fast makes a good roofer and never bang down nails or blast through because you don't have a hammer is the way its done . Well its not quality
@@gradywhite9781 These guys in the video crack me up! Since it is not my roof. Why fix one nail hole when they can redo the entire roof for $$$ and put more leak time bombs in it.
They nailed close too the valley, that's how leak started, you should always nails 10 inches from the valley, California cut too nail the starter in the valley is usually 6 inches (a shingle with 6 inches wide and 42 inches long) California cut is an under exposed valley and bad workmanship, I hate those valleys and that why we are over coming the completion in the province we live in
The skies cleared with smoke and filled with clouds. Our summer is over, back to the rain. It's good to hear your skies are finally back to normal. Has it rained much?
I run my valley first like how mo money was doing, if you stair step into a valley you’re cutting more times. And tell mo to use snips to cut his valley it will look straighter.
Nice videos just found your channel . Learned a lot starting my own company. Give me a shoutout in your next video . Fox Roofing and Construction . Serving DFW TX area . Watching your videos motivates me to keep on the grind. Can you do a video on d2d sales. Appreciate it.
Contracting is low, "lemme show you how this is done.. actually ill just pay some one too do it and show you me doing the last row" no workmanship, no wonder you got called back and probly getting called back again, i have never seen a Mexican using Mexicans, thats a true "american" shame on those guys making piece work, getting paid in usa pennies...
That's funny Mr Legit, I call it 13 or 26 instead of 1 tab and 2 tab. But it's the same process. Nice job my guys.

Just a tip.. lay a shingle under the other shingles while cutting the valley pieces to prevent accidents
It will most likely leak again depending how the underlayment holds up. When doing a valley you should always shingle low slope first. If the pitch is same you should do the main roof first dormers last. I have seen this happen many times.
Here in PNW we roof low slope first, then if it's the same pitch dormer first. Where do you live?
you guys are quick on the repairs nice job

Was 1 year old counter flashing before re roofing. So shouldn't have changed it but they said it was that.
This was back in 2009
i wish you explained why it leaked, makes me worried, i have probably 1,000 valleys with my name on them, hope none are leaking!!

what size of nails do you use on over hangs? 7/8? what kind of compressor do you use?
3/4, I think the were using a craftsman pancake on this. Should only be good for repairs though.

hey mr legit did the skies clear up in your neck of the woods anyways clearing up here in cali keep the video,s coming
The skies cleared with smoke and filled with clouds. Our summer is over, back to the rain. It's good to hear your skies are finally back to normal. Has it rained much?
Why did it leak?
Honestly, I showed up late to the party. They think a branch.
A branch and you fixed it for free!? Your a good man, being one man band I couldn’t do that
If the amateur roofers would install "w" crimp valleys that fix would have been real easy. And half the cost.
I see you took my advice on the monetization! Good to see some ads bruh
Thanks my man! I had to go through every video. Some videos had way too many ads.
🤑🤑🤑
don't think my baby duck ever saw a roof. Ended up using it to flip my grill grate lol
We are here, doing our job, making sure we have leaks.
First 21 seconds of video
They can work on the same roofs over and over again for mo money :-)
@@DAS-Videosnice, I am still learning, after.17 years
I caught that too...!
What's the deal Mr Legit. How bout them LAKERS ?!
BOO!! 🤣🤣🤣
they probably leaked because they are not owens corning. lmao
Lmao exactly.
You fixed it for free?
Yes. We did the roof.
Except you have all your nails in the key way so you will have to do it a 3rd time now

I can't roof left handed bro. We do use snips from time to time. Especially when the weather changes.
Where’s that new content tho? 🧐🤨🤣 jonesing over here
I've been working on cleaning the shop. Ill make something soon. NO EXCUSES!!🤣🤣🤣

Best way too find out a good roofer in videos, look at his hands, if his nails are clean and skin clean, looking like a babies bum watch out lol
🤣🤣🤣
Hacks. Do it one time and one time only until the roof wears out. Uncalled for
