  • We built the iconic 1959 Topps baseball set, and in this series, we’re going through every card to talk about the players, teams and people who made up major league baseball in 1959. Today, we’ll cover cards 237 to 244 in the set. This week we cover Hank Bauer, the All-Star World Series hero of the Casey Stengel Yankees dynasty of the 1950s and manager of the 1966 World Champion Orioles, a multi-player card with several of his Yankees teammates, and Gene Baker, who was the first Black man to act as manager in Major League Baseball.
