Wunderschöne und detaillierte Interpretation dieser sechs perfekt komponierten Suiten in verschiedenen Tempi mit mildem doch ein bisschen neue-sachlichem Ton des technisch fehlerlosen Solocellos und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Wahrlich intelligenter und genialer Cellist!

Just skip to the modern pieces in between, since the Cello Suites are cliché, hackneyed and overplayed by jillions of cellists already. The modern-day pieces are a breath of fresh air!
@@bollingbryant Yep, imho the Cello Suites have been played to death. They're so frequently recorded that eventually you get tired of listening to new versions. Brilliant Classics alone has released at least four different albums of the Cello Suites that I know of. My personal favourites are the interpretations by Várdai and Maisky. The rest bore me tbh. To each their own. This particular recording is not for me. But hey go ahead and enjoy it, don't stop on my account :)

Nothing special İMO. The specially commissioned pieces are pretty good though. Different and not everyone's cuppa, but İ do like them.
